Diao Chan first appeared in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", the predecessor of "Three Kingdoms". Diao Chan is the clan of the Lintao people in Kansai, Diao Chan is just her nickname, her surname is Ren, and she is Lu Bu's original wife, and the two were separated in their hometown and became Wang Yun's maidservant.

After Wang Yun learned of his life experience, he had a plan and set up a family banquet to entertain the Taishi Dong Zhuo, so that Diao Chan and Dong Zhuo could meet. Wang Yun also hosted a banquet for Lu Bu to attend the meeting, allowing him to meet Yuan's wife, and promised to officially reunite them another day. After that, Wang Yun sent Diao Chan to Dong Zhuo's house, Dong Zhuo mistakenly thought that it was a generous gift from the king to himself, and he was overjoyed, and went to Yunyu that night. When Lu Bu learned of Dong Zhuo's behavior, he was furious and entered the court with a sword to kill the drunk Dong Zhuo.

In "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Diao Chan took refuge in the palace because of the rebellion of the Ten Standing Servants, and was taken in as a singer by Situ Wangyun. [4] 。 Diao Chan saw that the Eastern Han Dynasty was manipulated by the traitor Dong Zhuo, and burned incense under the moon to pray to heaven, willing to worry about his master. After Diao Chan married Dong Zhuo, he was ambiguous with Lu Bu and was torn between father and son.

One day, when Lu Bu took Dong Zhuo to the court, he entered Dong Zhuo's mansion to visit Diao Chan, and Diao Chan and Lu Bu made an appointment to come to Fengyi Pavilion to meet. Diao Chan pretended to cry to Lu Bu about the pain of being occupied by Dong Zhuo, and Lu Bu was angry. happened to be bumped into by Dong Zhuo when he returned home, angrily snatched Lu Bu's Fang Tian painting halberd, and stabbed Lu Bu, Lu Bu flew away and fled, and the two were suspicious of each other from then on, Wang Yun persuaded Lu Bu to eradicate Dong Zhuo. In the nineteenth episode of "Cao Cao's troops in Xiapi City, Lu Bu died in Baimenlou", Lu Bu was besieged by Cao Cao's army, and Minchan did not want her husband to break through alone, and vowed to "live together in life, live in the same cave when you die, and never be separated until death."
