Touch Mount Everest

Starting from the specimen monument at an altitude of 5,200 meters, go around the railing that prevents visitors from moving forward, bypass the hill in front of the monument, and the mountain is flat behind the mountain. Looking back, the prayer flags on the top of the hill are flying, and you can hear the prayer flags hunting in the wind.

Behind the mountain is a pebble covered with ice and snow, and in the center of the river is a winding river, which is the source of the Rong River. In such a cold, the river was not frozen in ice, and the murmuring sound penetrated the boundless wind, which made people have to obey the tenacity of the river. Geng Xin and I carefully stepped on the bare pebbles from a narrow spot across the river and climbed the last slope in front of Mount Everest just before noon. At this time, I was already facing Mount Everest, and the majestic Mount Everest was in full view in my eyes.

Before climbing this hill, Geng Xin and I walked separately. Although his camera could no longer withstand the cold and could no longer work, he could only take pictures with his mobile phone, but he still rushed to the front to grab the lens. I walked unhurriedly and looked at the scenery on both sides, and by the time I climbed the hillside, Geng Xin was gone.

The wind on the top of the hill is not very strong, and there is no snow or ice, and it is like two worlds at the foot of the mountain. The huge glaciers and glacial lakes at the foot of Mount Everest can be seen here.

The mountain road to Mount Everest is under the cliff on the left. Walking on this road is like standing on a huge tuyere, the wind gushes out of the mountain silently, like the pressure of water rushing out of a high-pressure faucet, and if you are not careful, you will be washed down. This mountain trail is terrifying. The mountain road follows the gravel and bypasses the boulders, and the sound of mud and stones rolling down the cliffs is endless. After crossing this part of the road, we reached the bottom of a slope, and the wind was getting stronger and stronger. Many times, I had to stand with a large rock on the side of the road to avoid being blown away by the wind, and I waited for the wind to subside before continuing to walk. After climbing the slope, about 200 meters below is the huge glacial lake. Here you can see tornadoes whistling up with mud and sand and rubble, and beautiful women writhing and scurrying in the air like snakes. This season is the windy season of Mount Everest, except for the pale head of Mount Everest, all the snow is blown away by the wind, and all the mountains are bare. At this time, it is also a blessing to be able to see the unique scenery of tornadoes dancing under Mount Everest. I sat here for a long time, facing Mount Everest, savoring it.

Walk around the glacial lake on the hillside, carefully weaving through the rocky thickets. After a big circle, go around the glacial lake and step out on the mountain mass of Mount Everest from behind a steep slope. Walk further on, into a glacial area. This glacier is huge, the form is ever-changing, and in the carving of the wind knife, all kinds of whimsical ideas emerge one after another, making people sigh that every existence in this ice and snow world is extreme. If you don't go to Mount Everest, you don't experience the creation of heaven, which is beyond human imagination.

Along the glacier, the mountain path is almost unrecognizable. The dirt in this area is covered with ice. I walked against the wind for a long time, and when I looked up, I was still quite a distance from the waist of Mount Everest. At the waist of Mount Everest is a huge smooth glacier that reflects dazzling light in the sun, like a treasure mirror slung across the waist of Mount Everest. Further on, the air gets thinner and thinner, and it becomes more and more difficult to breathe. I felt visibly flustered and short of breath, and with every step I took, I felt like my heart was going to pop out of my chest, and every step I took drained my whole body. The altitude here is already more than 6,000 meters, and my legs finally become limp, like walking on a sponge, and I have to stop and take three or four deep breaths after taking a step. I decided to abandon the road and go back the way I came. Before turning back, I sat on the ground, took off my gloves, and gently touched the dirt under my feet with both hands. This is Mount Everest. Before leaving, I picked up a few small rocks and put them in my pocket, and then looked up at the summit and saluted.

Back at the 5,200-meter camp, Geng Xin was already waiting there, and it was getting dark. Geng Xin didn't go up the mountain, he only walked around the ice lake for half a day, and came back early. Geng Xin told me that there is no sunrise on Mount Everest this season, but the sunset is very beautiful, it is simply a golden mountain at sunset. I said I had just returned from the sunset.
