Chapter 70: The City of Order
"Gotham is a beautiful city, standing on an impregnable foundation of steel, concrete, glass and masonry. With-Dream- . lā, but surrounded by mortal flesh and blood, so strong and fragile. ”
Sitting in the chair of Morbius, Batman looks down on the entire city.
"It's the only place I call home!"
"Why light the signal lights, Gordon!" Batman looked at the man in front of him.
James Gordon, the leader of Gotham's side of justice, is Gotham's only light of justice, the voice of law and public power!
Gordon is arguably the character who pays the most for justice in the entire Batman story. It is also the most tragic and sad character, even surpassing Batman. At the same time, he is also one of the few friends and partners of Batman.
In the beginning, Gordon was just a captain who was transferred from the Chicago Police Department to Gotham with ideals and ambitions, a firm belief in justice, and a belief that the law was the only thing that could not be broken.
But when he arrived in Gotham City, all the beliefs he believed in were destroyed. He is lost when he discovers that Gotham is controlled by politicians, gangsters, criminals, drug lords, and the police are criminal. He gave up his belief in being a police officer and the purpose of his existence.
But when he is at the lowest point in his life, he meets Batman - a man who is just as hungry for justice as he is! So Gordon's righteous-hungry soul met another's thirsty soul.
Gordon was a man of principles, and he stood by the law. Even though he found it impossible for him to maintain law and order in the city and uphold the rules of the law, he still stood his ground.
Gordon takes the law and regulations very seriously, but the reality does not allow it, so Gordon is forced to rely on Batman. Because he can't rely on his own police force. He also understands that not only does he need Batman, but Gotham also needs Batman!
So Gordon accepted Batman, knowing that he needed to follow the rules, but Batman didn't. What the light can't do, it's only through the Dark Knight to sanction!
As Gordon gave everything he had for justice, it included his life and all that he loved
His first wife, Barbara Gordon, even though she loved each other with him, she found that Gordon was not married to her, but his police badge, and he gave everything to justice, and finally Barbara chose to leave him.
Gordon's second wife, Sarah Issa-Gordon, was his colleague. She shares Gordon's belief in justice, but in the end, Sarah is killed by the Joker in order to save a group of babies who have been held hostage by the Joker, and Gordon loses his love again.
And his daughter Barbara Gordon, for the sake of justice, also became a disciple of Batman. Even though Gordon disguised her identity as his niece in order to protect her, Barbara was still shot by the Joker, and although she was saved with her life, she was crippled for life.
And Gordon himself has been assassinated many times, not to mention the kidnapping and attacks on him by various villains. He lost everything he had for the sake of justice. Compared to Batman, he is even more sad
Batman knows his old friend, his old partner, and admires everything he has done for Gotham. In the eyes of others, Gotham is as bad as ever, but only Batman understands how much Gordon has contributed to the city.
He created order, which may seem ridiculous, but it ensured that Gotham was still a city, not a prison.
"That's a relic of the past, Gordon, the order of Gotham that you and I crave is being established, we don't need that anymore, you just need to sit in the police station and wait for me to throw the criminals over, live like a rotten bureaucrat, drink tea, train and train new police officers!" Batman said jokingly.
"All of a sudden, I want to light it before melting it down to scrap metal." Gordon's eyes reflected a white light, and his tone was somewhat gloomy.
"From your tone, I feel that you are not very receptive to new changes, and there are some minor problems." Batman said, sitting on the Morbius chair.
"To be honest, I was actually pressed directly by the change on my face!" Gordon raised his hand and said angrily. "I've been negotiating with the justice system and the gangsters every day for the past few days! I've got to let go of the bastards and the juggrups you've caught! ”
"Do you know why? Because there is no law, you can arrest others just by what they might do in the future. ”
"It's not a possibility, it's a certainty, they're going to do something evil." Batman told Gordon in the affirmative. "Like someone who once sat in this chair, I can see that through the future, the idea of the whole city is connected to me."
"The Mobius Chair sifted a message and passed it on to me, and then I locked down a precise location and disrupted the timeline of the crime that was going to happen, so I could change the bad future."
However, Gordon didn't believe in these at all, could it be that a chair could change the world, and that Gotham could be transformed into a beautiful utopia, which was simply impossible.
"This chair ruined you, if it was Batman, he would know that humans will never stop hurting each other, and your alleged destruction of the timeline has done far more harm than you think, it's time to stop. Batman! Gordon persuaded Batman.
"I was the first to save lives, and that's all that matters!" Batman retorted to Gordon.
"Is this chair you sitting in from a world where there is no killing, no war, no harm?" Gordon asked Batman rhetorically. "Definitely not! So why do you still have to fool yourself into thinking that this chair can change the world? ”
"Where?" The chair sends a new message, and Batman walks away from Gordon, and the chair disappears with Batman.
"I'm so annoyed that he's doing this!" Gordon looked at the disappeared Batman and said helplessly.
In a tunnel, a group of robbers discuss his plan and what they are going to target.
Suddenly, a dazzling light appeared in front of their eyes, it was Batman, the current god of knowledge.
"I suggest you take your unregistered gun to the police station and turn yourself in, after all, what you are going to do is breaking the law." Batman said,
"How do you know?" The robbers were furious.
"You're thinking too loudly!"
"Kill him!" Bullets fly, and the robbers immediately choose to shoot, but their attacks can't hurt Batman at all.
