Chapter 6: Memorabilia of Westeros
The history of Westeros can be divided into three eras.
The era of legends, before 4000 B.C., there was no written record of the previous history, and it is now regarded as a myth in the eyes of the people.
Warring States period, 4000 BC to AD. At this time, the seven kingdoms were in turmoil, and each was king.
Reigning era, from the first year of the Common Era to the present. The Targaryens unify the continent, and the Seven Kingdoms become the Seven Realms!
These are Aven's divisions of the history of this continent, and the era of legends is divided into the Dawn Era,
Before the Dawn of the Dawn, before 12,000 BC, Westeros was inhabited by fairy-like sons of the forest, and in the far north there may have been giants.
Around 12,000 BC, the ancestors came to Westeros from the eastern continent via a land bridge connecting the two continents, introducing bronze, leather armor, and horses. The Children of the Forest, in order to stop their invasion, destroyed the Dorne Arm, forming the Dorne Severed Arm Horn and the Stone Steps Islands.
It is also speculated that the Children of the Forest tried to destroy the north-south junction of Westeros, completely submerging it, but their magic was not strong enough, and they only formed the future Neck. After a long war, a peace agreement was reached, and the two sides made an oath on the Thousand Faces Island in the Lake of God's Eye, bringing Westeros peace for 4,000 years. The ancestors accepted the gods of the children of the forest, the nameless gods of the forest.
The fortress of Carlin Bay was built about 10,000 years ago. It is now the only Xiongguan connecting the north and the south. It is a strategically important location.
The Long Night, the Age of Heroes, was about 8,000 years before the landing, and the terrifying winter accompanied the Long Night for an entire generation, when a demonic race of "strangers" invaded from the north and killed almost everyone in Westeros. Eventually, a hero known in the East as "Azor Yahai", armed with a powerful flaming sword "Lightbringer", led the Alliance army to defeat the Wraiths using weapons of fire and obsidian, and this was the Battle of the Dawn.
In order to protect the people from the threat of the north, Brandon the Builder, with the help of the magic of the children of the forest, built the Great Wall of Desperation in the north, and the Oath-Keeper Night's Watch was created to defend the Wall. According to other legends, Brandon the Builder, the designer of the Great Wall of Desperation, also built Storm's End in the South at this time, and he also built Winterfell and became the first King of the North.
Around 8000 BC, the thirteenth commander-in-chief of the Night's Watch was seduced by a female savage from outside the Wall to become the Night King, turning the Night's Watch into his personal army. Thirteen years later, House Stark of Winterfell and Joman, King of the Outer Chambers, joined forces to defeat the Night King, restore the Night's Watch to its glory, and remove the Night King's true name from the Legion's records. Perhaps it was this Joman who discovered the Horn of Winter, with which he is said to have awakened the giant from the earth.
About 6000 BC before the appearance of seven sacred beings in the hills of Andalus on the eastern continent, they seemed to be the incarnations of the supreme gods, and the inhabitants near the hills became their followers. These inhabitants, known as the Andals, invaded Westeros with their iron weapons and a new belief in the Seven Gods, and went to war with their ancestors and the Children of the Forest, eventually exterminating the Children of the Forest in every zone south of the Wall of Desperation.
After centuries of fighting, the Andals established six kingdoms in the south, while the north remained under the control of their ancestors, largely because of the strategic position of the fortress of Carlin Bay, which prevented many attacks and later served as the gateway to the south and north of Westeros.
This also creates a difference in beliefs, the northern realm is the descendants of the ancestors, and the inheritance of the faith is the belief of the old gods, the old gods are the gods of the children of the forest, and they are the nameless gods who rule the rocks, the earth, and the trees. With the exception of the North, the people of Westeros have turned to the Seven ("New Gods") and have referred to the gods of the Children of the Forest as the "Old Gods". And the northerners, Zedi, and freedmen beyond the Great Wall in the north still retain their devout faith in the Old Gods.
After Evan came to this world, he also believed in the old gods as the locals did!
And the belief in the Seven Gods, that is, the new gods. In fact, there are seven different forms of a deity that represent seven different virtues. Worshippers pray to one of the seven gods in a specific form according to what they are asking for. This is the belief of most people in the south.
Around 5,000 BC, the shepherds of Valyria in the Eastern Continent discovered the dragon nesting in the Fourteen Fires, a ring-shaped volcano that crossed the isthmus of the Valyrian Peninsula, and they domesticated the dragon and created a powerful empire. After five fierce battles, the Valyrians forced their rivals in the East, the Guise Empire, to surrender and annex their lands, establishing the Valyrian Fortress of Freedom. Rumors of the prophesied prince arose at this time.
The era of legends is over! The Warring States period begins. The Seven Kingdoms are fighting, and the people are not living!
It was about 3000 BC before the Battle of Saiwai. The brothers, Kings Jander and Goren, led a large crowd of men and horses to cross the Wall through a huge underground passage, but House Stark and House Amber helped the Night's Watch legion defeat them, and the King of the North was killed in battle.
Around 1700 BCE, a warrior of Dorne forged a powerful sword called "Dawn" from a fallen meteorite, which became the most precious heirloom of the Dane family. Hence the name Starfall City.
Around 1100 BC, four Valyrian candles were brought to the school town of the Old Town.
Around 700 BC, the fortress of Liberty in Valyria slowly expanded westward until it reached the area where the Mother River, Ron, flowed, a huge river on the west coast of the Eastern Continent.
The Valyrians destroyed the city of Arna, which refused to surrender. Namelia, the warrior queen of the city-state of Royna, led her people across the Narrow Sea in tens of thousands of ships and landed in Dorne. After forming an alliance with the Duke of Morse Martell, the Loynards unified the invulnerable lands and established the Martell family of Halberd City as the ruling family of Dorne.
The Roynars did not cause major political upheaval, but despite this, Dorne was profoundly influenced by Royna customs, with Morse adopting the Roynar-style title of "Prince" instead of "King", and Dorne's succession system differed from the rest of Westeros in that they adopted a gender-equal primogeniture.
At the same time, Winterfell's youngest son, Karon Stark, was the ancestor of the future House of Karon, who led an army to quell the rebellion and establish the city of Karon in his fiefdom.
Around 500 BC, the Free Fortress of Valyria conquered much of what is now a free city-state. A religious sect, the Chant of the Moon, led thousands of refugees north to a lagoon protected by surrounded mountains and mist, where they founded the secret city of Braavos. They later built the Titan of Braavos, a huge statue that served as a fortification.
Around 350 BCE, the Storm King invaded the river and killed the last river king.
Around 200 BC, the Fortress of Liberty in Valyria occupied Dragonstone, in the Narrow Sea between the western city and Westeros. The Targaryens, a noble Valyrian family, took control of Dragonstone.
It was the apocalypse of Valyria about 100 BC. Aside from the fact that it is related to intense volcanic activity, the essential cause of the apocalypse is unknown. The Valyrian Peninsula was destroyed, the cities of Valyria were in ruins, if not completely destroyed, their dragons were almost completely extinct, and the fortresses of freedom fell apart.
Cities on the west coast gained their independence and called themselves free trade city-states. Braavos was set apart from the other cities, relying on their large fleet and economic power to become the strongest free-trade city-state.
The city of Slave Bay regained its independence, but the power of the Guise Empire regained its power in the south.
The warrior nomads of the vast eastern continent were emboldened after the fall of Valyria, and their tribe, the Dothraki, began to encroach on the surrounding territories.
Probably the Targaryens, the guardians of Westworld's last three dragons, are safely on Dragonstone. The rulers of the free city-state of Valantis asked the House of Targaryen for assistance in conquering other free city-states in the name of Valyria, and Valantis was one of the original colonies in Valyria, but the Targaryens refused them. This period of decline after the apocalypse became known for its bloody years.
It was invaded by the Iron People about 50 BC. The King of the Iron Isles, Hervin Hale, invaded the River, defeated the Storm King Alec and conquered the River.
This was the last major event of the Warring States period, and from then on the era of domination began. The Targaryen dynasty begins, and the Seven Kingdoms become the Seven Realms!
