Chapter 5: The Andals and the Conquerors' War

After arriving at the Great Wall of Desperation a year ago, Evan began to guide Maester Aemon, intentionally or unintentionally, to write a "history book".

This "history book" is not a canonical history in the traditional sense, but similar to the "Classic of Mountains and Seas" in the previous life! That is, myths and strange stories.

When it comes to the history of Westeros, there are two demarcation points that must be known in order to understand it. The Andals invasion, and the descendants of Valyria, the Targaryens, landed on the continent of Westeros.

First of all, a word about the Andal invasion.

The Andals, the earliest place of origin of the Andals is located in Essos (Essos is the largest of the four known continents in this world. It is located east of Westeros and north of Sothros, stretching from the Trembling Sea to the Summer Sea, and from the Narrow Sea to the land around the Jade Sea. To the north, a peninsula bordered by a trembling sea, called Axe Island.

For unknown reasons, the Andals moved south to fight the long-haired wildlings who had occupied the Andals Mountains, and seized control of the land. Here, they developed their own culture and religious beliefs, and legend has it that the seven gods avatared and crowned their first king, Hugo, King of the Hills.

The Andals later learned the art of iron-making from the Loyna, who settled on the banks of the Lorne. Later, the Andals tried to conquer the city-state of Loyna, but the Loynars were not vegetarians, and many Andals conquerors were defeated. Pursued by the Roynars, around 6000 BC, the Andals began a two-millennial migration and war, sailing west to Westeros, landing in the Five Fingers Peninsula and attacking the valleys.

All invasions were bound to be accompanied by violence, and the Andals also destroyed the Yuliang Woods in the south, killing the children of the forest they met. After hundreds or even millennia of wars, the Andals eventually settled south of the Neck and spread their religion and culture. The King of the North put up a successful resistance, holding back the Andal invaders along the line of Kalin Bay.

The ancestors of the bronze civilization and the sons of the forest of the stone civilization failed to stop the Andals of the iron civilization, and the south fell.

By this time it was 4000 BC. The excellent Andal culture began to influence the continent, and their belief in the Seven Gods replaced the beliefs of their ancestors and occupied the entire south. Their advanced writing replaced the rune writing of the ancestors at the extreme bottom of the writing hierarchy. Begin to be able to describe history completely and clearly.

Judging from the changes brought about by the Andal invasion, the civilization established by the ancestors is the most rudimentary bronze civilization. Words simply cannot fulfill the mission of documenting history.

Therefore, in the eyes of the ancestors at that time, the fact that the ancient ghosts and giants had been passed down by word of mouth has now become a legend.

Because the ancestors did not have a written language, they thought that the ghosts and giants of thousands of years ago were just legends. The Children of the Forest, although they existed at the time of the Andals' invasion, have now disappeared, and there is no historical record of the two thousand years of war.

All in all, the Andals brought writing to Westeros after establishing their rule in the south. It can be said that in 4000 BC, it was a dividing point for the whole of Westeros. The appearance of the excellent writing of the Andals has allowed the history to be recorded.

Therefore, it can be considered that before 4000 BC, it was the age of legends, and in the eyes of today's people, everything is just a myth. Just like Pangu opened the sky in the previous life, Nuwa created people, and so on.

So in the original book of A Song of Ice and Fire, people don't believe in the existence of ghosts, giants, and green prophets at all, except for what they saw with their own eyes. Just like in China, someone tells you that Pangu opened the heavens and that Nuwa created man is real, will you believe it?

Speaking of the Andals, it is necessary to mention the Loynars who drove the Andals to Westeros.

The Andals were hunted down by the Roynars and fled to Westeros, where the Loynars ruled the continent of Ursoros. But no rule is eternal, a new ruler of Essoros appears, the Valyrians appear, they rise with dragons and magic, and create a powerful civilization. Drove out the Royna.

The civilization of Valyria is arguably the highest level of civilization of any continent known. Valyrian steel, which is now in circulation in the Seven Kingdoms, is their product.

But Valyria was eventually destroyed by an apocalypse, an unknown catastrophe that led directly to the collapse of the Valyrian Fortress of Freedom and the disappearance of the entire civilization of Valyria. There is no clear answer to what exactly this catastrophe was.

All that is known is that the catastrophe happened so quickly that only a very small number of Valyrians who were not in the Fortress of Liberty survived. The Targaryens were among the nobles of the Valyrians at that time, one of the few who survived.

Returning to the point, the Loynards fled to what is now Dorne after being expelled from the continent of Essoros by the Valyrians. He helped unite the Martese family in Dorne and has thrived in Dorne ever since.

So at the beginning of Game of Thrones, a song of ice and fire, we see Eddard Stark say when he kills Will: "In the name of Robert I of House Baratheon, King of the Andals, Loyna, and Ancestors of the Peoples, Ruler of the Seven Kingdoms and Guardian of the Lands, I, Lord Eddard of House Stark, give you the death penalty!" ”

The Andals are the majority of the people who live outside the North, the Roynars are the people who live in Dorne, and the ancestors are the people of the North!

These are the three major ethnic groups living on the continent of Westeros, just like the different ethnic groups in China. Aiwen's bloodline is the ancestors, and it is said that the family history can be traced back to the heroic era eight thousand years ago!

After talking about the Andal invasion, let's talk about the landing of the Targaryens on the continent of Westeros, known as the War of the Conquistadors!

The War of Conquest refers to the war of Aegon I Targaryen against Westeros. With the support of his two sisters, three dragons, and a small army, six kings of the Seven Kingdoms finally surrendered to House Targaryen over the course of two years. During this war, some regions and families actively followed the Targaryens, so their territory was not affected by the fighting, while others eventually succumbed to Aegon's dragons and armies.

Consider that it took nearly two thousand years for the Andals to conquer the continent of Westeros, ruled by their ancestors and the sons of the forest. But in the end, they failed to rule the mainland, especially the north, and the ancestors retreated to the north, and the north was not conquered.

When the Andals conquered the lands except for the northern borders and Dorne, they established not a single kingdom, but seven kingdoms side by side.

The northern kingdom of the ancestors, the valley kingdom of the Andals, the kingdom of the river, the kingdom of Kaiyan, the kingdom of the river, and the kingdom of the storm. and the kingdom of Dorne of the Roynards.

The Seven Kingdoms stood side by side, and wars continued. Aegon I Targaryen relied on three dragons to unify the six kingdoms except Dorne. Established the capital of the Seven Kingdoms, King's Landing, and sat on the Iron Throne!

The war of domination was something that could be written about in that era. So, to commemorate the day of this milestone. Call the day the House of Targaryen sat on the Iron Throne 1 AD!

The end of BC marked the beginning of the Common Era. And now, it's 290 A.D., and this year Aven is 9 years old, and the plot of A Song of Ice and Fire begins in 298 A.D.!
