Chapter 9: Here I Am

In the dark of night, the moonlight covers the land like a thin veil.

The night before, Carnos sat on the windowsill and pondered for a long time, and secretly felt that he could solve this matter perfectly, and that he did not need anyone's superfluous help, and that in Pascal's condition at that time, even those who went would become a burden except himself. So he calmly set off on the road alone the next day.

So in the evening of the next day, Canos rode alone, refused Chris's request to call a few more guards to accompany him, and excused himself by going to the surrounding cities to buy some supplies he needed to pacify his mother and sister.

As Canos sat on his horse and hurried towards the starry night in the distance, he rubbed his hair with a headache when he thought of his sister Elisa's somewhat unrelenting and delicate appearance. "After all, I'm still a child, and at this time I still want to go to the city with me to play." Canos thought to himself with some tears and laughter.

However, when Canos recalled Chris's expression of wanting to speak, he knew that with Chris's acumen, he must have discovered what the purpose of Canos's current outing was.

"I'm a little surprised that Chris would help me cover up..."Canos recalled Chris's expression, as if he felt something was wrong.

"But no amount of conspiracy can compare to the practicality of its own strength, as long as you drive them all out, there will be absolutely no problem!" Canos sat on the back of his horse and pondered for a while, and found that there were very few evidence or clues, and that he was not known for relying on brain power, neither in the past nor now, so he simply put these things aside for the time being.

As a stranger who was new to this world, Canos may not have realized at some times how ruthless and cruel some people can be to their own kind when their bodies and minds are dedicated to other creatures!

Just as Karnos was rapidly approaching the destination in his mind. Daniel had returned to the huge cavern underground, scratching his chin with his fingers in some boredom, waiting for Angus's daily prayers to end. The last unfortunate bastard who dared to be reckless in interrupting Lord Angus's prayers has evaporated from the world. Thinking of this, Daniel couldn't help but sneak a glance at Angus, who was kneeling on the ground and muttering to himself.

From this point of view, it's still a bit harmless to humans and animals. Daniel thought to himself a little ridiculously, but he still looked expressionless and patiently waiting on the surface, and if Master Angus discovered his Daniel's small movements, it was inevitable that he would be beaten.

Daniel was still thinking cranky in his heart. Angus had gently risen from the ground, carefully and patiently cleaning the dust from the priest's robes.

Angus calmly turned his head to Daniel, who was expressionless, and said, "The Great Lord tells me that Pascal has returned to its embrace. A small and stupid bug has blasphemed the glory of the Lord, Daniel, do you know what to do? Angus's gaze was calm and reverent, but if you look closely, you will see that there seems to be a raging flame burning cruelly and violently in the depths of his gaze.

That is the blasphemous wrath of God!

"Ahh Ah, sir, you're so right. Daniel's expressionless face suddenly put on a solemn expression, and he strongly agreed.

Angus squinted his eyes slightly, looked at Daniel, who was obviously distracted, and grinned at the corner of his mouth: "Really?" Did you really hear what I said? Loyal servant of my lord, Lord Daniel! ”

Daniel looked at Angus's suddenly smiling face, and couldn't help but shudder fiercely, he was really scared and couldn't help but tremble... Daniel struggled to remember, and then suddenly said, "I'm going to crush that bug and kill them all!" Dear Lord Angus, please trust in my power and absolute devotion to the Great Lord! His eyes were sincere and fiery, as if he was really about to sacrifice himself for the so-called Lord.

However, Angus couldn't help but applaud Daniel's slightly contrived performance in front of him, and seemed very satisfied with Daniel's sincere answer. "That's right, Daniel, I think your faith in the Lord has just been sublimated." Angus's face was full of smiles. "I'm relieved that you're going to do things... Don't let me down! His tone grew colder, like a biting cold wind, and it blew Daniel's strong body, making Daniel shiver like a chicken.

"Ming... Understand Lord Angus, and I won't let you down! Daniel patted his chest as if he was vowing, and said loudly, then bowed respectfully to Angus, and quietly wiped a dense layer of cold sweat from his head with his hand, "Lord Angus, if you don't have anything else, I'll go out..." Daniel said cautiously, but he didn't even have the courage to peek at Angus, and only looked at the ground in front of him, as if a flower had grown on it.

"Hmm." Angus agreed, and turned to look at the altar in the center of the cavern, he didn't seem to need to eat, he didn't need to rest, Angus had never walked out of this underground cavern since the altar was built, as the presiding officer of the sacrifice and one of the priests of the Lord.

Piety, devotion, for a 'theorgy', no, or rather, for a thing that consecrates faith to a monster, Angus is no longer human, its figure faintly twisted and wriggled on the pale red water, as if it was absorbing some kind of nourishment, growing stronger and stronger!

Without hesitation, Daniel turned around and walked out of the cave quickly, not even having the courage to turn back, he touched his head with some luck, secretly glad that he had escaped. "Next time, I can't get distracted in front of Lord Angus, if it weren't for my Lord Daniel's quick reaction and eloquence today, I'm afraid I would..." Daniel imagined the possible consequences in his heart, and his pace couldn't help but speed up a few points, "Hurry up and do a good job of Lord Angus's orders, and then let the frightened Lord Daniel have a good rest!" Daniel touched his big head and walked quickly out of the underground cavern, the bright moonlight shining directly on his head.

Looking at the remote and barren scenery around him, Daniel couldn't help but pout, "I don't know how Lord Angus found this place in the first place." This place is really too far from the cottage! Daniel said with some indignation.

However, when he turned his head to look at the gloomy and dark cavern, he did not hesitate to stride in the direction of the cottage, without the slightest intention of complaining to Angus about his 'small request'.

Angus had told him the address of the bug family, and Daniel was going to travel in the direction of Canos Manor to kill all the disgusting, tiny bugs who dared to blaspheme the Lord.

He, Lord Daniel, wants something to know that they can't even be 'cute' lambs when they anger Lord Daniel, who is a little worse than Lord Angus!

Perhaps at some point, Daniel or others don't even realize that when their bodies or minds are gradually invaded and infected by the power of the Otherworld, they are no longer themselves, and their minds and even souls begin to be plundered and controlled by the so-called 'Lord'!

This is the cost and risk of mastering power in this world, or in the entire multiverse!

Equivalent exchange, nothing more!
