Chapter 8: Kill them all
There was the sound of thin grains of sand flowing in the darkness, and a pale, powerful hand reached out from the deep darkness and gently lit the candlestick.
"I've heard that there is a magical prop in a more distant place that can harness the power of lightning to illuminate the darkness." The owner of the pale hand casually pulled over a high-backed seat, leaned lightly, and spoke with interest to the empty darkness in front of him. The flickering glow of the candlelight was just enough to cover the area above his neck, casting a shadow over the man's face.
"You can have that power." From nothing, in the darkness of nothingness, a deep voice slowly sounded, flat and confident, and said. Angus's pious countenance emerged from the shadows, "You have already experienced it, believe in my lord, and you will be able to do anything." Angus gently saluted the man in his seat, respectful and polite.
Calmly rising, Angus slowly walked out of the darkness in his scarlet priest's robes, looked at the decoration of the room, and stopped in front of a tall, cruel portrait of a 'knight slaying demons', and looked at it carefully.
"Of course, of course, I truly believe in the power you and your gods, don't I?" The man gently held his chin with his hand and smiled gracefully.
"I hope so, my dear colleague." Angus turned his head and looked at the man in front of him as expressionlessly as ever, as if he had lost all expression except in the face of the Great Lord.
The man groaned slightly, his eyes playful, "Are you ready for the next sacrifice?" To be honest, I can't wait. So he said that, but the man looked unhurried, as if he was teasing Angus.
"Of course, thanks to your great and selfless help, our actions have been carried out without any scruples, and until now, only one devout believer has not returned..."Angusmo clutched the scarlet cross on his chest, its color growing darker and deeper.
"Oh, what's that? You know. I... Don't want any problems! The man suddenly put down the hand holding his chin, and said in a low tone to Angus, "I have to get it, what I need!" The hideous red light flickered in the darkness, and the man's tone became more hideous and fierce than ever.
"Of course you'll get what you want, Sacrifice Lord, it's just a little bug stupidly bouncing." Angus said lightly, and he even began to look back at the lavish and splendid decoration of the house. "Even though the believer has returned to the Lord's embrace, it still doesn't hurt." Angus's performance turned out to be that he already knew that Pascal had met with an accident. But he seemed so indifferent.
Angus's calm and pious tone seemed to slightly soothe the anxiety and tyranny of the man in front of him, and the man looked at the thin hourglass in front of him, "You know we don't have a lot of time..."
"That's not a problem, you're too impatient, my dear sir," Angus turned, bent down and held the hourglass on the table high as if he had finally finished admiring the beautiful decoration of the room.
Angus said lightly as he admired the slowly flowing golden sand in the hourglass. "Bugs, we can crush them! Lamb, we can catch it again! Only in faith in the Lord can we not waver in the slightest! Angus's voice was hard, cold, as stiff and cruel as steel.
"Hahaha, beloved Bishop... You're saying that, but sometimes I want to kill them all! When the man heard Angus's words, he couldn't help laughing uncontrollably, and he opened his hands, and even wanted to dance with his hands. I wonder if you can be lucky enough to let me sit back and enjoy it? The man suddenly stopped what he was doing, propped his hands on the table, and turned his head to face Angus sharply.
In the invisible darkness, the man's pupils shone like a ruby, and the black patterns wriggled and twisted on his forehead and even on his entire face...
"Of course, my priests... I think it's time for devout believers in the Lord to get to work. Angus bowed respectfully, and in the manner of a graceful, pious shepherd, and no longer raised his eyes at the man in front of him, and began to fade away, disappearing again into the darkness that surrounded him.
The 'pop' hourglass lost Angus's support and fell diagonally onto the table.
The man in the chair got up and carefully straightened the hourglass that had fallen on the table, and watched as the sand began to flow again, the faint sound of flowing gently echoing through the silence of the room.
"Hehe, sit back and enjoy it..."The man's disdainful sneer seemed to blow a cold wind in the darkness, blowing out the last candle flame violently.
...
Daniel stood at the intersection of the cottage and waited quietly, from sunrise to now.
Daniel looked at the sky that was gradually fading, the blood-red sunset was gradually disappearing from the side of the mountain, the afterglow of the setting sun shone on the verdant forest in front of Daniel's eyes, and the afterglow reflected on Daniel's body through the dense trees, making him feel a trace of warmth, as if the sun was emitting the last residual heat.
"Pascal probably has something happened, it's a full five hours later than the agreed time..."Daniel's big rough hand rubbed his stubbled chin, and turned his head to look at the cottage in the distance, "Lord Angus must already know!" Shaking his head slightly, Daniel turned to leave.
"Waste is waste, and I knew that waste would spoil our good deeds at some critical time!" As he walked away, Daniel's face gradually became hideous from calm to fierce, and black and red lines crawled all over his face almost instantly.
A hard punch smashed the trees on the side of the road, and Daniel looked into the depths of the jungle with a disgruntled expression.
Rustle...
A wild wolf jumped out of the shadows of the trees with a delicate eye, and its sturdy figure and streamlined body all showed its powerful predatory ability. The wolf growled and looked at Daniel's strange appearance, as if he was using him as a tasty treat.
"Looks like hunger has overwhelmed you...", Daniel looked disdainfully at the ferocious predator in front of him, "You're the same as those wastes, no, you're not even qualified to be a sacrifice." Daniel stretched his bones, and his whole body let out a continuous popping sound like fried peanuts.
"But you at least have the courage to do it to me, don't you?" Daniel clenched his fist, stretched out his finger to the predator in front of him with a hideous expression, slowly hooked it, and motioned for it to hurry forward and send it to death! The red-black lines on his face slowly squirmed, and he breathed, emitting an eerie glow.
As if provoked, the wolf lost its last sanity due to hunger and humiliation, and rushed towards Daniel. The charge seemed to tear Daniel to shreds.
Daniel swung his fist quickly and fiercely at the moment when the wolf was about to pounce, and a 'bang' roar suddenly sounded, and the air in front of him was squeezed into a narrow cavity, and the fierce and violent force was violently vented out in the direction of the swing through Daniel's fist! A fan-shaped blood mist sprayed out towards the surroundings, and the rich smell of blood quickly and violently dispersed! Daniel gently sniffed the fishy smell that filled the tip of his nose and pursed his lips in disdain.
The predator in front of him had completely disappeared, leaving only a faint fishy smell and a trace of blood mist wafting through the forest to find its last traces.
Daniel withdrew his fist, turned around and walked briskly in the direction of the cottage.
He now had to talk to Master Angus about what to do with Pascal's shit.
Thinking of this, Daniel snorted coldly, and his face became more and more gloomy.
And the sunset is also at this moment, it seems to be getting more and more red...
