Chapter 8: The Eternal Supper

A small town in a mountain col.

It was noon, and the blazing sun hung high in the sky.

Three figures emerged from the tin chariot, nervous.

"When did I fall asleep last night?" Iwayama was holding a flamethrower in his hand, and his forehead was covered with sweat.

"I don't know." Quinta is both wary and confused.

"I had a terrible dream." The fat man rubbed his bloodshot eyes, and his expression was sluggish.

Everything the three of them experienced last night was like a dream, and they couldn't tell whether it was reality or illusion. Only Peter the little monkey pointed to the largest building in the town and squeaked. It seems to be the only one who understands what happened last night.

The three of them were close together, patrolling the town, only to be shocked to find that this was not a normal town at all. All the buildings in the town are model-like things, and although they have doors and windows, they are one with the building and cannot be opened at all.

What's even more bizarre is that there are many life-size dolls in these buildings, and at first glance, they seem to live in the house as if they were living people.

"What the hell is this place?" Although it was a hot day, the fat man could always feel a chill.

"Whatever he is." Iwayama pulled the trigger, and a thick burst of flames erupted towards a room. In such heat, the stones can be burned to slag, but the house is unscathed, leaving no traces.

"Hell!"

Before reaching the largest building in town, the three of them stopped, looking hesitant.

Eventually, Quinta stepped forward, grabbed the doorknob, and swallowed. As he pressed lightly, there was an unpleasant 'creaking' sound. The door was opened. It's probably the only door in the town that can be opened, but what's in it? No one dares to make inferences.

"Are we really going in?" The fat man hugged Peter so tightly that the little monkey was out of breath.

"Thanks to you, we still have a lot of fuel, but we don't have much food or water." Iwayama said angrily.

The explosion caused by the fat man completely disrupted their plan to ransack Black Rock. Originally, it was planned for the fat man to use a small explosion to cause a riot, but who would have thought that he would actually set a fire in the fuel depot in Black Rock Town.

"Okay." The fat man was afraid that the rock mountain would add fuel to the fire, so he gritted his teeth and walked towards the door.

The three of you pushed me through the door, but I was startled by what I saw inside.

There is a long dining table in this large room, and two rows of well-dressed men and women sit in different postures, as if waiting to enjoy a good meal. And undoubtedly they are all lifeless dolls.

On the dining table, there are all kinds of delicious delicacies, meat, fruits and vegetables, most of which the fat three have never seen. In terms of color, it is extremely enticing and mouth-watering.

But it's strange that every food has its own unique smell, and the big meal in front of me has a strange smell, like ...... Fuel for tin chariots.

Facing the main door, the main seat of the dining table, sits a strange figure. The clothes on his body are very thick, and the colors are very bright and green, but his face is painted with red and white paint, and he can't see his original appearance. But judging from the location, it is clearly the host of this dinner.

In the face of this strange everything, the three of them stood on the spot, at a loss.

The fat man subconsciously wanted to go out, but found that the door had been locked without knowing when, just like it was last night.

"Is it another dream?" The fat man pinched his face hard, a pain came, and his heart was cold.

Quinta and Iwayama instinctively took up their weapons, but their footsteps involuntarily walked to the dining table, as if their bodies were being controlled by invisible threads.

"I can't move."

"Me too."

At this moment, the puppets that had been motionless slowly turned their heads and stared at the three new guests with a strange smile.

Black Rock Town.

Rena takes care of the sleeping Black Bey, while Wren and Bluebell go to the ruins of Black Rock to gather available supplies. After discovering that the mountain road to the East had been carved out, they couldn't wait to leave this land of right and wrong.

The mist that drifted over Black Rock last night made Bluebell extremely uneasy. The smell was smelled at night on the Black Plains.

The Bluebells entered the underground warehouse in Black Rock Town, but found nothing of value. What puzzled Bluebell the most was that the crack that led to the underground space was gone.

Just as the two were disappointed, they found a vehicle buried by debris. After inspecting the vehicle, Wren exclaimed in surprise. It was filled with fuel, food, and water.

After the vehicle was cleared, there was a large amount of blood around it. Around this car, there was obviously a tragic dispute over studying abroad. I don't know why, but no one got the final result.

Bluebell lives in a desert where there is no grass, and his life is similar to that of a wild man, and he has never seen such a novel thing, and after listening to Wren introduce the role of the vehicle, he can't help but be amazed.

However, Heibei's situation is not optimistic, he has been sleeping, and his whole body is as hot as if he is on fire. Rena's eyes were red all the time, but there was nothing she could do.

When Bluebell inadvertently touched Heibei's body, the bell on his wrist vibrated slightly, and a strange picture inexplicably appeared in his mind. A skinny little weirdo sits cross-legged on the ground, battling the endless darkness in front of him. What does this mean? Bluebell couldn't think of a reason.

Since leaving the desert, Bluebell has seen too many strange things that he can't understand. It's like an ignorant child suddenly entering a boundless hell, more dazed than afraid.

As the afterglow of dusk was about to disappear from the horizon, the trio drove away from Black Rock in their vehicles. Follow the rugged mountain road to the shadows of the east.

In the broken map, the Lightchaser's route leads south from Black Rock, past the cliff, and back north. Aligns with the route originally planned by Wren. It may also be because of the twists and turns of the route that the map has become very difficult to understand.

A small town in a mountain col.

The tin chariot is gone, and the fat trio are nowhere to be found.

As night falls, the town comes alive again. But if you look closely, although the town is brightly lit and lively, it is closed, and there are only some projected lights and shadows on the streets, and there is no trace of people. Those bustling sounds are just some sound waves that reverberate in the air, and they have no source at all.

There was only a lonely little monkey, jumping up and down the street, his expression full of despair.
