Chapter 7: Beneath the Ruins

The ruins of Black Rock.

Heibei, the hound, woke up suddenly, whimpered a few lowly, and then slipped out of the room through the gap in the debris. Although Bluebell was also awakened, he didn't have time to stop Heibei from leaving.

Through the gap in the window, Bluebell saw a lot of frozen black shadows, as if all the residents of Black Rock had returned, but in a different form.

These black shadows move in a surprisingly consistent manner, facing the sky on their backs, quietly looking at the sky, which looks very eerie. As if completely oblivious to the existence of these black shadows, Heibei disappeared into the ruins of the center of Black Rock Town. Vaguely, Bluebell felt that Heibei's purpose was clear, as if he had found something.

In the face of this strange everything, Bluebell did not dare to act rashly. Although the dark shadows outside were not dangerous, he was not sure if there were other threats hiding in this Black Rock Town.

Heibei burrowed into the ruins, gasping for something as if she had smelled some irresistible temptation. Eventually, it spotted an entrance hidden by debris, and struggled to break through the obstacle with all its might.

In the underground warehouse of Black Rock Town, Heibei rummaged around with his keen sense of smell, and finally found several huge corpses. Although these corpses have human-like limbs, they don't look like humans at all, and they are in a state that looks like they have been dried by high temperatures, and they can no longer see their original appearance.

Black Beys suddenly fell into a frenzy, as if he had come across delicious food, greedily gnawing on the dried corpses.

A small town in a mountain col.

There was a pig-killing cry from the tin chariot.

The fat man saw that Peter the little monkey was surrounded by flames, and in the blink of an eye, he was burned to charcoal. And Iwayama, who was sitting in the carriage, gnawed at Quinta like crazy, and blood splattered suddenly.

"Calm down." The fat man kept admonishing himself in his heart, but he couldn't suppress the screams in his mouth. It all came so suddenly, and there was no mental defense at all.

Suddenly, the fat man didn't know what hit him in the back of the head, and his eyes went black and he fainted.

Peter the little monkey, wearing a steel helmet and holding a big stick, stands on the co-pilot, like a daredevil, ready to die at any moment.

However, when the first rays of light from the east entered the town, all movement outside the tin chariot was gone. The fat man was still unconscious, while Quinta and Iwayama in the carriage were hugging each other, sleeping like dead pigs.

Black Rock Town.

The golden crow is born, and the sun is shining. The rays of the sun are like a mother's embrace, driving away the fear and confusion of the earth. All living beings are also blessed with it, and they can always draw courage and motivation from the light.

Due to excessive exhaustion, the two siblings slept heavily last night, and woke up feeling that their mental state had reached the extreme. But they found that the blue bell and the black shell were missing, and the barrier at the door showed signs of moving.

"You rest for a while, I'll go out and have a look." Wren picked up his shotgun and slipped through the gap in the doorway.

The ruins of Black Rock are no different from yesterday, except that the smoke is gradually extinguishing. After rounding the town, Wren disappeared and found no trace of Bluebell and Black Shell.

However, he found a lot of black ash on the ground, as if something had been completely burned. And these ashes are numerous, and the spacing is very regular.

Wren picked up a handful of ashes and sniffed it under his nose, it didn't look like grass ash. Just as he was wondering, a loud bang suddenly sounded in the center of the ruins of Black Rock Town.

A figure flashed out of the rubble, and after a few climbs came to Wren's side. Wren was taken aback, and after careful identification, he realized that the gray-faced figure in front of him was Bluebell.

"What's wrong?" Wren subconsciously loaded the bullet. He discovers that Blue Bell is covered in scars and has apparently been in a terrible battle.

"There's something underground." Bluebell wiped the dust off his face and said with a solemn face.

Recalling everything that happened in the second half of the night, Bluebell still has palpitations. Heibei didn't come back for a long time, and Bluebell couldn't rest assured, so he quietly went out to look for Heibei. However, as soon as he got out of the house, the residents of Black Rock Town, who had turned into monsters, suddenly disappeared like the wind. At the same time, a strange sound came from the middle of the ruins.

Bluebell followed the sound, but somewhere it fell into a crack in the earth. The crack was so deep that after stumbling, Bluebell fell into a mysterious underground space that contained mysterious stone statues, damaged facilities, and dried human corpses dressed in strange costumes.

It appears to have undergone a catastrophe, with most of the facilities destroyed. As long as there is a metal stone platform, a brilliant and extremely blue flame is burning in the air. This flame is like a rootless fire, which does not burn on its own by any external conditions.

According to Bluebell's perception, this is simply not a phenomenon. Curious, he leaned forward, and when he was less than a meter away from the flames, the bell on his wrist suddenly vibrate, and the flame seemed to be summoned in some way, like a living fire snake wrapped around the body of the blue bell.

Intense pain came as if every inch was cracking open, and the bluebell rolled on the ground in pain. However, at this moment, a cool energy overflowed from the bell, repairing the burns on Bluebell's body. Over and over again, Bluebell's body cycles between burns and repairs, like an ancient and cruel ritual.

Eventually, on the verge of even collapse, the blue flame gradually extinguished, and Bluebell was freed from the pain.

Just as the aftermath of the catastrophe was being spent in the aftermath of this catastrophe, a stream of black mud burrowed through the cracks into the space, gradually condensing into an ugly-looking behemoth and rushing towards the blue bell.

After a series of strange experiences, Bluebell was terrified. Unexpectedly, this monster was not afraid of swords at all, and under the anti-grappling, Blue Bell was injured in many places, and finally found an opportunity to find an exit and get out of the ground.

By this time, it was already getting dark. The center of the ruins began to tremble violently, and something was about to break through the ground.

However, just as Wren and Bluebell were facing their enemies, the tremor of the earth suddenly stopped, and a dirty black shadow emerged from the ruins, which was the black shell who had disappeared last night. And that terrible monster did not appear.

Heibei's steps were faltering and he seemed to be seriously injured. Wren lunged up and picked up Heibei and returned to the ruined house with Bluebell. Strangely, after some examination, no signs of injury were found on Heibei's body.

Looking at the unconscious Heibei, Rena had a look of regret on her face. After a long time together, it still became a part of this small family.

What the hell is going on? Bluebell had been looking at the black shell warily, sensing a potential threat from its body.
