Chapter Forty-Six: Only the Demon Slayer Is Immortal

The disciples of Tibetan Buddhism, no matter how old or young, strong or weak, whether they are wise and foolish, all put "virtue" first. Escaping from battle, greedy for life and afraid of death, are all huge stains in virtue, and a wise man who has practiced for half his life and is highly respected would rather die than bear that kind of stain.

True practitioners are absolutely fearless and selfless, and even if they can't leave a single word in history, they will give their lives without regrets.

Although Guan Wen is of Han nationality, he was also enthusiastic and excited when he heard Master Shu tell the true story of the seventy wise men who rushed into the black hole to fight the Rakshasa witch to the death.

"Later, my brother asked me, which is easier, to die fiercely or to endure humiliation and live secretly? I replied to him that the former is easier, and he just needs to do it with all his enthusiasm and vigor. Regardless of the result, success or failure, and can leave a name in history. As for the latter, they have to face the long years of suffering, all the accusations and slanders, and all the hardships in life...... Before I could say me, my brother interrupted me and said that he was going to do the easy things and leave the difficult ones to me. In other words, he will lead the seventy wise men into the black hole, and let me complete the sealing and guarding of the hole. I didn't say anything more, and accepted the arrangement calmly. Brother Doggyatso was a lifesaver to me, and when we went to the north face of Mount Everest to collect the snow lotus elixir, he saved me from the wolf kiss of more than forty snow wolves, and I owe him my life, and I will obey him absolutely no matter what he asks me to do. ”

There is no need to guess, Guan Wen can predict the ending, seventy wise men died in battle, and there is no life left.

The disparity between the power of humans and demons is huge, which is equivalent to ants fighting elephants, and the chances of success are very small. One king and two princesses led the Tang Dynasty to fight with the witch, and they could only "suppress the demons" but not "eliminate the demons", which shows the great power of the witch. In the past, 3,000 demon masters participated in the battle, and now only seventy wise men have come out, and the result is-

While they were talking, the two of them slowly fell from mid-air to the top of the ancient tree. From this location, you can overlook Tashilhunpo Monastery up close, and you can see the Tantric Monastery at the back of the temple from the square in front of the door.

Guan Wen once again remembered the glorious history of the first temple in Tibet, the original name of Tashilhunpo Monastery was "Gangjian Qupei", which means "Snowy Buddha Temple", and later changed its name to "Tashilhunpo Bajide Jingqin but Tang Junnan Jieweilin", which means "auspicious macro solid wealth and blessing gathering special victory in Fangzhou", commonly known as "Tashilhunpo Temple", which means "Jixiang Mountain Temple" or "auspicious Sumeru Mountain Temple".

"Senior brother told me to seal it in front of the cave and throw all the gold, silver and jewelry in the temple into the black hole to avoid being looted by the enemy, and to use this as a foundation to revitalize Tashilhunpo Monastery in the future. I love this monastery, so my soul is immortal, forever attached to the ancient trees, watching the monastery in the morning, dusk, and noon. Now, looking at the large and small temples under my feet, it seems that hundreds of years of history are just a matter of a flick of a finger, leaving no traces. What I just said to you seems to have happened just yesterday, and I can hear what Brother Doggyatso taught me......"

Tashilhunpo Monastery was built in 1447 by Tsongkhapa's disciple Gendun Zhupa, and it took 12 years to build the Great Sutra Hall, Maitreya Hall, Tara Hall, Buddha Terrace and so on. The 4th Panchen Lama in 1600? Lobsang Chokyi Gyaltsen added two more golden tile halls and the Da Rajang Jian Buddha Palace, and built a new tantric institute Abaza Cang and many Buddhist halls, with a total of more than 3,000 halls. In later generations, the Panchen Lama continued to expand. Now the total area of the temple building is 300,000 square meters, there are 56 scripture halls, 236 halls, 14 large and small golden roofs, and there are 4 Xian and Mizha Cang, namely Tuosang Lin, Xiazi, Jikang and Abazacang.

As a foreign proverb goes, Rome was not built in a day. The prosperity of the incense of Tashilhunpo Monastery today is not the credit of one generation, but the efforts of several generations to stack up. Tibetan history bears witness to the people who contributed to the construction of the monastery, but there is little mention of the unsung heroes who buried in the snow to defend the temple and drive away the enemy. No temple can lose its foundation, and those fearless and broken demon defenders are the eternal foundation on which Tashilhunpo Monastery stands. In the past, one king and two princesses established twelve immovable nails to suppress witches, and each defender can be called an immovable nail inserted into the heart of the enemy.

For the tree master whose soul is detached from the shell, all kinds of prosperity, excitement, suffering, and entanglement in the world are insignificant, and only the word "exorcism" is left in his thoughts, and he has always adhered to the teachings of Doge Gyatso and took "exterminating demons" as his own responsibility.

"Seeing that Tashilhunpo Monastery is becoming more and more prosperous, the most worrying thing is that all the practitioners are blinded by the superficial prosperity and forget about the existence of the witch. Until now, I firmly believe that Brother Doggyatso is still alive, just under the sealed black hole, and he is persistent in his cultivation - he once gave me a dream to tell me about the tragic battle to exterminate the demons. The Seventy Wise Men joined forces to unleash the 'Mind Dragon Demon Suppressor', knocking out the Rakshasa Witch who had escaped from the leylines in her original form and sealing her in the leylines for the second time. Originally, Senior Brother Doggyatso arranged for the two Dharma Protector disciples to follow him left and right, holding two magic weapons, the white elephant and the tiger, to destroy the witch's eyes and make her lose the power to make waves. However, for some reason, the two Dharma Protector disciples did not follow the Seventy Wise Men into the black hole at the appointed time. Therefore, this demon eradication operation is only half successful, but we have already paid a huge price for it, and the twenty second-generation disciples I led have all sacrificed their precious lives to keep the secret of the black hole. In that battle, the Jingrui strength in the temple was completely lost, and it was definitely the most severely injured since the temple was built. Among the second generation of disciples, there are many people with super strong enlightenment, and if there is no war, they will surely achieve great achievements in the study of Buddhism. In the years that followed, I often thought that war was like another huge black hole that devoured human life and hope......"

Guan Wen's heart suddenly chilled, because he suddenly thought of Fenghe.

In Feng He's memory, the brothers who buried the gold and silver never came out after entering the black hole, and the usually kind and kind master suddenly drew his sword and put himself to death, until he died. Wind Crane's experience is in perfect harmony with the story of the Tree Master, and in those ancient years, what happened to her and him has become a deep memory.

Fenghe's death in his previous life was not a dedication, but a sudden slaughter and death in vain without knowing it, and he was unwilling. So, can this way of death still impose the name of "dedication" on her?

Guan Wen once read the memories in Fenghe's mind, in addition to being stabbed in the past life and having his throat cut in this life, there are also many soul reincarnation processes, all of which are not natural deaths, but deaths for various reasons. Because of this, Feng He's interpretation of human life is full of resentment and hatred, and the "knowledge of Tibet" in her brain is different from the "knowledge of Tibet" in the general sense of Tibetan Buddhism, and she remembers more of her bumpy past life story. This point has great commonality with Baoling's "nightmare memory".

"They didn't give their lives, but you killed people in order to keep secrets." Guan Wen couldn't hold back, his voice raised due to excitement, and his mood couldn't remain calm, "Master Shu, you killed the disciple who followed you loyally with your own hands, didn't you?"

The Tree Master didn't admit it immediately, and suddenly clenched his fists, his face was gloomy, and his brows were tightly locked. His face was filled with countless resolute edges and corners, showing that this was a person who would not hesitate to achieve his goals.

"There is only one truth of history, whether you admit it or not." Guan Wen sighed.

"No, there are innumerable truths about history, and each one comes from the statements of different people. What you think is right is wrong in the eyes of others. You think that if you are on the side of justice, you can lash out at the other side, but on what basis do you judge that you are on the side of justice?" The Tree Master asked tactfully.

"Then you have to tell me first, in the battle to eliminate demons, did you kill your disciples with your own hands?" Guan Wen asked again.

The Tree Master sighed three times before finally nodding.

"A person has no right to take the life of another person, because of natural human rights, all people are equal, and to kill someone is to deprive others of their human rights, which is a crime." Guan Wen calmly said what he thought.

The extreme method of "extinguishing the mouth" was used to preserve secrets -- this method was mostly used by ancient emperors. For example, Qin Shi Huang, Cao Cao, the king of Wei, and others were suspicious and suspicious during their lifetimes, and they were extremely murderous, and they were worried that someone would dig up the grave and whip the corpse after death, so they set up a large number of suspicious graves to confuse the sight of tomb robbers. When it is time to be truly buried, special arrangements will be made for cronies and ministers to slaughter all the craftsmen and people who built the tomb, so as not to leak the news. This kind of violent act of taking the lives of hundreds or thousands of people for the sake of selfish interests has further exposed the cowardly mentality of the powerful outside the powerful and the middle, and has been repeatedly criticized by later historians.

For a long time, the tree master was silent.

In a trance, Guan Wen fell, and found that he had suddenly arrived at the entrance of a huge cave, where the black rocks and the dark night were connected, as if they were about to devour the world.

Not far ahead, a thin monk stood with his back to the cave, holding a pine oil torch in one hand and a three-foot-long knife in the other, looking from side to side. The torch was not lit, and he was dressed in black, so Guan Wen didn't notice the other party at first.

Another man hurried out of the cave, and the thin monk heard the footsteps and immediately turned to meet him. The two men approached quickly, and just as they were only two steps apart, the man behind them suddenly flipped his wrist and stabbed a short knife into the body of the thin monk. His strength was so great that the bright tip of the knife immediately peeked out from the thin monk's back.

After that, the emaciated monk threw away his torch and long knife and fell to the ground.

The entire killing process only lasted a few minutes, but when Guan Wen saw this scene, he learned about the past of the tree master and the wind crane. In his previous life, Feng He stayed outside the cave and didn't know what happened in the cave, and he was the last one to be destroyed. Perhaps at that time, she was full of faith in fighting the enemy to the death, and whether or not she could protect the safety of the temple, she would fight to the death.

No one can stand betrayal, not even from the most respected division commander. It is this kind of unwillingness that has led to countless reincarnations, and the wind crane still clings to that fear and horror.

"Remember the cave, it's the only way to the underground—"

"The cave is closed, and it is difficult for humans to open it, how can I get into it?" Guan Wen was confused. There is a lack of construction machinery in Tibet, and the cave is located on the Niseri Mountain, so the mountain road is tortuous and difficult, and if a lot of manpower and machinery are to be mobilized, the difficulty can be imagined.

"Actually, when my senior brother asked me to take someone to close the cave, I had the belief that I would die with the witch." Tree Master replied.

Guan Wen smiled bitterly: "However, the witch has not died, I personally felt the crazy power of the witch in the demon array in Lhasa."

Master Cheng's death made Guan Wen deeply feel that the strength of human beings was too low compared to witches, and they were not at the same level at all.
