Chapter 3 A Field Archaeology for School Students
I thought his joke was disgusting and boring. But then I learned that he really circumcised the developer, in his luxurious office with a sea view of more than 100 square meters. Circumcised two people, the other was the developer's bodyguard. Afterwards, as soon as he heard that the developer wanted to retaliate against Song Gang, the bodyguard resigned directly. When he left, he said a sentence: If you can't kill him, he will definitely kill you. When the time comes, no one will be able to save you. He must have killed someone, you can't feel it, I can. I've never seen anyone so calm.
In the end, this developer didn't take the risk. Of course, he would not report the crime, saying that he was circumcised. Is that fucking a medical malpractice or an accident.
"What about you? I inquired about the address of your new home, and the house was rented out. Fortunately, people have your current address, otherwise it would be really difficult to find you. What are you doing now? Seems to be in the antiques business? The fat man replied from his silence and asked curiously.
The nickname given to boys in our area is the last word of the name plus a subcharacter. For example, people who know me well have called me a strong son since I was a child, and my parents have called me that. And Song Gang has been fat and strong since he was a child, and we have always called him fat.
"My story is long, messy and bloody." I said as I poured tea on the fat man, "But there are some wonderful parts. ”
This night, the two of us spent in the autumn breeze and the occasional insect chirping, in this story of mine.
I graduated from the Department of Archaeology in JD. Let me state in advance that this is not an archaeological story, but I have this expertise, and it is because of this profession that I have the opportunity to come into contact with this incredible thing.
I think anyone with a little knowledge of this area knows that JD's archaeology major is very strong, at least in my country's universities. Those of us who are archaeology majors can actually participate in some archaeological work from the second year. Of course, the vast majority of people just do some post-sorting and sorting work, which is to bury them in the tile fragments all day long, clean, assemble, record, seal, and then never see them again for the rest of their lives. Those more valuable cultural relics will not be handed over to us students to sort out.
I don't know if it was luck or misfortune, but after a few months of tedious work on cultural relics, I was unexpectedly selected to join an archaeological team led by the JD Archaeological Research Center. The archaeological site is in the west of Wuwei, Gansu Province, a small village called Shagou, which is the ruins of an ancient town on the ancient silk road, which has been sealed under the loess quicksand for thousands of years. In recent years, tomb robbery has been rampant, and all places with some historic sites will be patronized by tomb robbers, and the ruins of this ancient town have not been spared.
However, there is still a big difference between the ancient town ruins and the ancient tombs, the ancient town ruins are more archaeological value, and the real excavation is extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive, and if there is no extremely professional cultural relics identification knowledge, they will not be interested in the things unearthed in the ancient towns at all. Generally speaking, as long as they are not very professional tomb robbers, their targets will be gold, silver, jewelry, jade and agate, followed by porcelain, and bronze and iron are large artifacts because they are martyred, and they will not be taken seriously. Crockpots and the like were even more discarded by them. Gold, silver and jade artifacts are rare in ancient town sites, and for archaeologists, its greatest value is the culture it represents, and the history of inheritance. Therefore, although the ruins of this ancient town have also been excavated by tomb robbers, they are not very destructive.
The ruins of this ancient town are in the west of Shagou Village, and it was protected by the local cultural relics department and the public security department because the tomb robbers dug up a huge bronze tripod here and caused a sensation. This huge bronze tripod is rectangular in shape, nearly two meters in length, one meter and one meter wide, and one meter two in height, with four legs and two ears. The front is decorated with animal face patterns, surrounded by cloud and thunder patterns, and the animal face patterns on all sides are strange and different, and the shape is simple and solemn. Although I am only an archaeology student, I have made corresponding preparations for this archaeological activity and have done some homework. But these strange animal face patterns, unheard of, made my previous work go to waste. This huge bronze tripod lies in a large earth pit, and it is clear that the tomb robbers who dug it out have no ability to transport it out, or even to get it out of the pit.
As a student of the Department of Archaeology, I was also at a loss for this big guy, and I could only desperately search for this knowledge in my memory to determine the age of this bronze tripod. The leader of the archaeological team is a professor surnamed Zhou, who is close to sixty years old. He obviously saw the value of this bronze tripod at a glance, and almost rushed over, lying on the bronze tripod and carefully examining it. After that, he didn't tell us the origin of this bronze tripod, but he began to arrange for people to clean up the loose soil excavated by the tomb robbers.
Immediately afterwards, an emergency meeting of several people in the archaeological team who had the right to speak was held. Not long after, three experienced archaeologists took us students and began to explore the cave and set the direction. Captain Zhou transported the bronze tripod away on the same day.
This archaeological team is quite large in terms of numbers. Captain Zhou is a professor at our school, and I have heard his class, although I am not familiar with it, I can still call him by name. The other two vice-captains were very unfamiliar, only knowing that one was surnamed Song, in his forties, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, and looking very elegant, as if he was a representative of the local museum. The other surnamed Zhang is also about forty years old, but this person seems to work in the field a lot, his complexion is a healthy red, and his body is also very strong. In addition, there are seven experienced archaeologists, but the largest number is among us archaeology students, with twenty-three people.
In terms of the composition of the entire archaeological team, we JD accounted for the majority. Among the student team members, I am the youngest and the least qualified. Most of the other students are seniors, and even juniors have experience in field archaeology.
The archaeological team members who took us to explore the cave were very experienced, and they made a total of 12 shovels to determine the approximate scope of this ancient city ruins. In one day, the outline of this ancient city leaps onto the page. Immediately afterwards, the preliminary excavation work was carried out in an orderly manner with the cooperation of the local government.
At this time, I realized the purpose of this archaeological activity and bringing so many students, especially me, a rookie with no actual archaeological experience, were all brought.
The ruins of this ancient town look about two meters below the surface. Because it is shallow, for fear of damaging the monuments below, the raw soil layer was only excavated a little more than one meter, and the hired local migrant workers were allowed to withdraw from the site. Below, 23 of our students forced themselves out of the field, drew out a few probes, and continued to dig further.
After digging into the cooked soil, large tools such as pickaxes and pickaxes also withdrew from the stage, and then everyone changed to hand shovels and began to scrape the soil. It was a tedious and physically demanding job, and I thought about it that the most likely reason why I was selected for this archaeological activity was because of my excellent physical fitness. To put it bluntly, it is to be able to contribute.
