Chapter 205. Case 22: Trespassing on a private house
The meaning of this poem is actually obvious. The Emperor's Tomb is probably talking about the Ming Yuzhen Ancient Tomb that is now located outside the old city, as an emperor, he is already very bitter. Basically, it has not been opened to the outside world, so the words "not seeing the sky" should refer to this meaning. And I don't know if my understanding of the meaning of the second sentence is correct, whether it is to say that the virtues of morality and loyalty and filial piety should be thrown aside, or whether these virtues will always accompany the left and right. The third sentence is to express that they feel that it is dark, so the dish needs someone to light the way out, and the fire is obviously a little bigger, but considering that the White Lotus Sect did have the habit of worshipping fire in ancient times, this should be a sentence used to boost morale. The last sentence is the easiest, just like a person who has suffered humiliation before has finally waited for an opportunity to break out and turn over after many years of forbearance.
So even if I am not a person with high literary attainments, I can easily read this poem when I see it. But in addition to understanding, there is an additional concern. Because although the poem itself is relatively popular, it exudes a strong sense that something big is about to happen, which makes me feel that some things may have been premeditated by this organization for a long time, and now that the time has come, it is as if there is a big move. If it was just the beginning of Uncle Liang's house before, I don't know how many difficulties there will be later.
To be safe, I still put my phone under the base and took a photo, planning to ask Situ or Tie Songzi to help me take a closer look to see if I was a little bit drilly. Then I continued to check the surroundings, and the compass's previous reaction proved that there was a movement here, so I had to find the source of the trigger. Sure enough, when I noticed that the mark on the base was different, I bowed to Maitreya Buddha three times, and then I tilted the Buddha's body a little upward, and then I lowered my head to look at the part of the base. Because every time I swung the compass nearby, there would be that kind of flashing agility. Sure enough, I saw a thin piece of paper underneath, so I stretched out my finger to pick it out, and when I got it in my hand, I realized that it was a metal lotus flake, exactly like the one in Uncle Liang's mouth.
So it wasn't until this moment that I saw this metal lotus in earnest, which was indeed the same as that ghost hand, which shows that this lotus flower appeared here and in Uncle Liang's mouth, which means that the Maitreya Buddha here is restraining Uncle Liang's body to some extent, and this metal lotus is the link between the two. So I put away the lotus, and before putting it away, I also checked the agility on it, although it was not as strong as in Uncle Liang's house, but the way of agility was the same, and the agility that accompanied the appearance of the ghost hand was the same.
I quietly put away my things, continued to search around, and when I began to notice that there were no new clues to follow, I called Hu Zongren. Hu Zongren inquired about the situation at the other end of the town and the situation I asked at the cigarette stall earlier, but he inquired about where the group of White Lotus Sect people often ate during the temple fair for a few days, and now he plans to go to that restaurant to see if he can ask for more information. I also briefly briefed Hu Zongren about the situation on my side, and then told him that I had heard from the old man of the cigarette stall that because there were no inns and inns here, those people had been resting in an empty house near this temple for a few days, so if I was lucky, I could still go there to look for it and see if there was anything left. So Hu Zongren said that then he would have to let Sister Liang wait more, it was not early now, and he was afraid that she would not be able to wait for her to leave or enter the room, and there would be new trouble, but it would be difficult to deal with it.
After hanging up the phone, I went out of the temple gate. A few old ladies in the neighborhood were still sitting there, so I thought to myself that these old ladies were here to pass the time on weekdays, and they would definitely not miss such an opportunity to earn money for themselves during the temple fair. So I leaned in and asked, saying where did those masters live when they held the temple fair a while ago? The aunts were very enthusiastic to tell me, saying that they had retreated to the road I had just walked, and then walked less than 50 meters, those old houses had been empty for a long time, and the door was not locked.
I looked up at the path I had just walked on, the path that was attached to the base of the wall, and I could see the river. So I thanked a few aunts and started walking there. This section of the wall looks a little older, and there are many small holes in the wall that were carved out by the early slender men by tying cables. There were only a few families living along this stretch, and they were still far apart, so I passed by a few houses that looked a little cleaner, and the locks on the doors were new, so I concluded that these houses were the temporary residences of the masters.
If there were cameras in an old town like this, it would be a luxury piece of equipment, so I didn't have to worry about that at all, otherwise I would have been charged with trespassing. I walked around the house for a while, smoked a cigarette, and there were few people, so I quickly found an opportunity to walk to the house. Although I'm not very good at picking locks, but I'm still very good at sabotage, the lock on the door is quite strong, but the door buckle is very fragile, so I grabbed both sides of the door, found a time to pull it open violently, the lock is still a lock, that is, the lock plate nailed to the door, and I was pulled open at once. I dodged into the house, and then slowly closed the door, the whole process was very short, I guess even if someone nearby heard the movement, before I could come out to see the situation, I had already closed the door.
After closing the door, the house was pitch black, and I tried to find the light switch but soon found that the place was already out of power. Presumably, no one has lived in it for a long time, and the head of the household has long pulled the electric switch. I had to use the lights of my phone and a lighter to illuminate them. The house had obviously been empty for a long time, and in addition to the smell of no one living in it for a long time, there was also the smell of something like wood moldy. The layout is similar to Uncle Liang's house, which is a very narrow old house, but this house is made of more wood, probably because it is in the north of the city, close to the river. I fumbled my way to the small room opposite, pushed open the window, let the light in, and by the light I opened the window of another room next to it, and then I stood by the window and looked out.
The terrain in the north of the city is slightly higher than the road we used to enter the city, so in my opinion, the location of Uncle Liang's house is in the direction of the downhill. And I looked at it from a distance, and was surprised to find that this window could directly see the vicinity of Uncle Liang's house, and from the corner of the road, I could even see the door behind the roof of Uncle Liang's house and the hut, which was the door I asked Hu Zongren to open in a hurry when I was caught by the ghost. It seems that the choice of this place is not a coincidence, because living here, you can see the movement on the street very clearly from the window, and you can even detect whether anyone is approaching from afar, if someone sneaks into Uncle Liang's house, this place happens to be an excellent observation point.
I took pictures with my camera at my angle to add to the persuasiveness of my speculation. Then I started to observe the house. I didn't guess wrong, this is indeed the place where those masters lived temporarily, because there are still many footprints on the ground that people came and went at that time. and some boxes of instant noodles that haven't even fully evaporated the soup in the bowl. All this indicates that this place was once inhabited not so long ago, and that there was more than one person living there.
On the kitchen stove, the white patchwork tiles have red wax on them, and two candles glued to them. This shows that the people who come here have paid homage to the god of the stove after entering the house, so it must be the group of masters, because they know the rules. There were traces of burning things in the right corner of the door, and when I walked in, it was not difficult to tell from the black paper ash that they were burning money paper, and it was the kind of long strip of godly money paper. There was a portrait on the wall, and the portrait was stuck to the bottom two corners, and the top two corners hung down because they had no focus, so that I couldn't see who was on it. When I walked over and looked at the portrait, I found that it was a portrait of Chairman Mao. The imprints on the wall are clear, and the upper two corners of the portrait still have angular nail holes, indicating that the painting was deliberately put down, and the time is recent. Considering that generally speaking, when burning incense and worshiping Buddha, there should not be people around, especially great people like Chairman Mao, which will generally have a certain deterrent effect on the surrounding spirits and even gods, which is why they deliberately let go. The foyer was empty, and there was nothing but that.
Walking into the two bedrooms, I could tell that there were at least 4 people living in the area where the dust marks and footprints were concentrated, and this was on the premise that none of them slept in a separate place. One of them likes to eat instant noodles, because there are a lot of instant noodle boxes, the one who lives with him, in the few days he lives here, one of them has cut his own nails, from the nails on the ground, there are fingernails and foot nails, people who do our business have a rule, we must always cut our nails, because it is easy to accumulate some dirt in the nails, and it is inevitable that we will come into contact with ghosts in our work, if we bring some things back from ghosts, it is not fun. So based on this, I think this person is likely to be the person who was going to run errands that day, that is, the person who sneaked into Uncle Liang's house.
