Chapter 204. Case 22: Inside the River Temple

Following the direction of the temple gate, I looked clockwise. The craftsmen who placed the statues at the beginning apparently only put these clay bodies on them and counted them, and did not arrange them according to the sect and official position to which they belonged. The first one is the Jizo King Bodhisattva, when I saw him when I was a child, I always thought it was Tang Seng. Most of the next many gods and goddesses are Buddhist arhats or some kind of monk, and I can't worship them all, but I just observe if there is anything noteworthy about these gods.

Almost every idol is covered with a red cloth, which is a traditional reverence for the gods. The plastic offerings in the shrine are very old and dirty, and you can see at a glance which god is the most popular here. I kept looking for it, because the idols were all placed in a checkered shrine, and behind the shrine was the wall, and if someone worshipped here, it wouldn't be boring enough to go around the back and do something. Continuing to search, I walked about a third of the way, and I saw the Taoist Puhua Tianzun, which is commonly known as the God of Thunder.

This thunder god is far from the thunder god in the shape of Lei Zhenzi that we saw in Uncle Liang's house, and the Puhua Tianzun here is the most appropriate appearance in my impression. Even though I wasn't a Taoist, he sat cross-legged, squinting his eyes, in the direction of the river. Since it is still somewhat related to the case I just experienced, I paid special attention to this statue. So I found that there was no fruit offering in its shrine, but it may have left a few marks formed by covering the dust in the previous place, and the marks are clear, which also indicates that there was originally a fruit offering here, but I don't know for what reason, the fruit offering was taken away, so these marks were left. I took a closer look at the base of the statue and found that there were also traces of movement on the imprint, because Puhua Tianzun was a Taoist with Dao bones and fairy wind, and his body was actually not large, so it would not occupy a large area, and the clear imprint under the base of Puhua Tianzun in front of me was much larger than its own footprint. That is to say, if my inference is correct, there was originally another immortal here, and this immortal occupies a large area, so it left this mark, then it proves that this Puhua Tianzun statue was artificially moved to this position later.

When I thought about this, I began to realize that I might be one step closer to the answer I wanted, and I couldn't help but feel a little faster in my heart, and the reason for the acceleration was that the excitement was less and the fear was more. I don't know why I was scared at the time, I just remember that if this matter could not be resolved smoothly, I would be fine, but Hu Zongren would be punished in some unimaginable ways. From the beginning of the eight-pole seal on his back, Hu Zongren inadvertently became a stupid soldier who only knew how to bury his head in killing the enemy, he was trying to survive, but he never thought about who he was fighting for.

Since the statue has been moved, then I will think that it was moved by those people at the temple fair. Generally speaking, unless the temple is expanded and relocated, few people will easily move the idol, which can be regarded as an irreverent gesture. Judging from the newness of the imprint, it should have appeared in the recent days, and it is very likely that the position of the statue was moved during the temple fair. In this way, religious people do it themselves, and there is no other way to say it. I bent down to look under the shrine of Puhua Tianzun, but I found nothing except a few fingerprints in the form of white powder left by moving. I pulled out my compass and began to look around the statues and shrines, which were rarely visited, except for the occasional glance of passers-by from outside the temple gates, which allowed me to do things without worrying too much. However, moving the compass in front of the statue is, to some extent, similar to playing with a big knife in front of Guan Gong. Fortunately, the temple here is not spiritual, and it is estimated that this is the reason why the group of temple fairs chose this place in the first place.

Now, I have begun to wishfully assert the inevitable connection between the two, and to prove it as a kind of evidence according to my speculation. It's not that I'm stubborn, it's that I can't do anything else. However, I didn't find any traces around the statue of Puhua Tianzun. In addition to being able to detect ghosts, the compass can also detect subtle things that are different from the spirits. For example, if something is related to something supernatural, then the things that are related to it or have been touched will have more or less clues at the same frequency, and I am just trying to get the evidence I want from it while trying to get the evidence I want while trying to squander my luck that is about to be squandered by me.

The first attempt was a failure, so I continued to walk forward, looking at the idols one by one, many of them even had cobwebs, and the life of this immortal was bleak enough. When I reached almost half of the position, the base of several statues of gods in the center was passive, on the left was Guanyin Master, and next to Guanyin, there was a Maitreya Buddha.

Guanyin is natural, and Maitreya Buddha is also very common in temples, but because we were almost sure that all this was the White Lotus Sect playing ghosts, I naturally began to have an unprecedented sense of fear for this fat-headed, big-eared and smiling Buddha. The base of the Kannon priest has also been moved, but I guess it was originally in this position, but the direction of the Kannon was corrected, because the mark on the base can match the outline of the Kannon statue. It was supposed to be in the same direction as the opening of the shrine, towards the temple gate, but at this moment, it turned ninety degrees counterclockwise, and the face of Guanyin was towards Maitreya Buddha on one side. This is obviously a strange phenomenon, and it must have some purpose. When I went to see Maitreya Buddha again, I had to check the imprint of the base before, and found that not only did the Maitreya Buddha not have an imprint, but it was more like the original imprint was covered.

So I immediately remembered the statue of Puhua Tianzun that I saw before, and the outline at the bottom seemed relatively large, so I immediately returned to the statue, took a picture with my mobile phone, and then returned to the side of Maitreya Buddha, comparing the outline of the imprint on the photo and the outline of the base of Maitreya Buddha, and soon I came to a conclusion that this Maitreya Buddha was originally placed in the position of Puhua Tianzun, and it was recently moved here. The direction of Maitreya Buddha is facing the south, that is, the direction of Uncle Liang's house, the reason why Guanyin Bodhisattva turned the direction is probably because this group of people was originally related to Buddhism, and Guanyin Bodhisattva was to save the suffering, which was completely inconsistent with what they were going to do at the moment, so they couldn't let the Bodhisattva see, so they turned the direction. Of course, this is just my speculation, but linking the previous Thunder God and the current Maitreya Buddha together, I have basically determined in my heart that when the temple fair was held that day, coming to the temple to beat gongs and drums was just to hide people's eyes, and the real purpose was to find an opportunity to sneak into Uncle Liang's house to start, although it is impossible to know what the motive is, but this group of people, at least the person who moved the statue, must be a member of the White Lotus Sect.

I didn't start checking right away because I was used to saving the most suspicious places for last. So I started to search, and there were no traces of the remaining ten or so statues, and no one even helped them up when the small wooden plaques in front of several of them fell. And I checked a little as I walked back in the opposite direction, and found that everything was normal, and the statues did not react in the slightest.

In fact, it is very ridiculous to measure the soul in such a Buddhist temple, so many gods, gods, Buddhas, and Buddhas, which bold demons and monsters dare to come in? Even if it is only a god and Buddha with a clay body, it can also play a deterrent role, but why do I have to check, firstly, it is out of insurance and a habit, and secondly, from the previous encounter with the ghost hand in Uncle Liang's house, I concluded that this ghost must be instructed, which is emotionally passive, just like the gladiators in Europe in ancient times, they knew that they might be killed by their opponents, but they had to rush forward. So if the ghost in Uncle Liang's house is related to the White Lotus Sect, and the White Lotus Sect is related to the arrangement of the Maitreya Buddha in front of me at the moment, then this Maitreya Buddha statue must be hiding some mystery, and I don't think that the person who set all this would have thought that I would find this temple and this Buddha statue so quickly.

When I got back to Maitreya, I started to look around, and it was on the opposite side of the temple gate, which means that if I were Maitreya Buddha at the moment, I could see everyone passing by through the temple gate. The reason why gods and Buddhas have heads and eyes is to look at sentient beings. I wasn't so bold as to blindfold the Buddha statue, so I had to look around him carefully. I'm not a Buddhist, and although I know a little bit of the Dharma, I have to have at least a little respect. I soon noticed that whenever my compass approached the base of Maitreya Buddha from the bottom up, there would be a subtle movement that flashed and flowed, as if a force had suddenly attracted the pointer and then disappeared suddenly.

So I squatted down and began to carefully inspect the bottom of this shrine, at first there were white powder handprints on the base of Puhua Tianzun, I thought it was caused on the way to carry the statue, but I did not find the same texture of powder under the Maitreya Buddha, but I saw a very clear cut at the bottom, along the four sides of the base, a total of four sentences:

"The tomb of the emperor does not see the sky, and loyalty and filial piety are on both sides.

Looking forward to the fire illuminating the way out, only the white lotus appears in the world. ”

Well, the evidence appeared.
