Chapter 21
A silvery-gray substance traveled back and forth across the door panel of the compartment. Its ever-lengthening body piled up in the room, leaving less and less room for Ziang to move.
Ziang crawled to the ground and crawled through the gap between the compartment and the ground. Although it was not very sightly, it also allowed him to successfully avoid every attack of the opponent.
Just as the room was almost filled, all the silver-gray matter glowed white at the same time, engulfing the scene around Ziang once again.
This time, the scene hasn't changed much.
The newly created room is a women's bathroom that is being renovated. One of the walls looks a little weird. Instead of connecting to the rest of the walls, one of its wall panels staggered a gap for one person to pass through.
"Be careful, don't step on that hammer." A man's voice came from behind the wall panel, "Be careful when you pass through here in the future, don't scratch your body or tear your clothes." β
"I'm an adult, Donald." This time it was a woman who spoke.
Ziang looked for prestige, and a hammer that had been discarded on the ground came into his eyes. Only then did he realize that he was still lying on the ground, so he quickly got up and coughed awkwardly.
Donald and Kelly squeezed through the gap between the wall panels and walked into the bathroom. Donald was dressed as a maintenance man, and there was some excitement on his face. He kept looking at Kelly, as if expecting a reaction.
"You don't have to." Kelly whispered.
Donald shook his head. "I'm having fun." "It reminds me of when we were little," he said. Remember the path that leads to the back of your house. Who would have thought that more than twenty years later, you will have a secret passage of your own. β
"I don't know what you're thinking." Kelly said, "I'm actually fine. Just a few steps, just stare at the ground, and walk through it in a while. β
"Nope." "The book says that the more restraint you have, the more anxiety you are likely to trigger," Donald said. If you are afraid of fainting in front of everyone, you will keep thinking that you can't faint, which will increase the psychological pressure, and then you will really faint. It's still so good, it's parking right outside the building. You can rest assured that no one will enter this restroom under repair. The lights in the hallway are broken again, and it's hard to be seen when you go out. After the tiles on the floor and walls have been replaced, I will apply to the school to paint the ceiling, which will drag on for a while. Besides, I'm still worried about you driving yourself, but if you say it's okay, I won't stop it. However, I can't leave you alone to fill up the car like last time. With so many people at the gas station and an open place, you will definitely feel uncomfortable. I hid a bucket of petrol in the lounge, and if I forgot to check it one day when I went out, and you find that your car is out of gas after class, you must remember to call me. And ......"
Donald babbled. The mirror bursts with a dazzling white light, transforming the scene again.
Ziang did not return to the house full of cubicles, but to the peaceful town. He stood in a small grove and could see a house through the gap between the trees.
The boy and girl I had seen before sat on a large rock not far from Iang, looking up at the sky.
It was already dark, and there was a light moon hanging in the sky.
"It's time for me to go back." The girl said, "The last time he didn't see me when he came home, he lost his temper. β
"It's okay, I'm prepared." The boy responded, "Look over there, you can see a road behind that sloping tree trunk. He would definitely drive through there. When the time comes, you'll be able to walk home again, and don't forget to climb through the window to get in. β
"It's a nuisance." The girl stood up, "I'll go back." β
"Don't." The boy grabbed the girl's arm, and this time the girl didn't dodge, "It's rare for me to come up with such a good way, you can stay a little longer." His eyes were drawn to the girl's arm, which had several healed scratches on the outside, "Are you hurt?" How? β
The girl shook off the boy's hand and covered the scar on her arm with her other hand. "Nothing. Isn't there a bush outside my house, and the branches are barbed, and I accidentally tripped over there. β
"He did it." The boy turned his head to look at the road outside the woods, "He hit you again?" β
"It's none of your business." The girl responded immediately.
"It's really my business." The boy took the girl's hand again.
The girl's expression relaxed, but she shook off the boy's hand and sat back down on the stone.
"Does it still hurt?" The boy asked.
The girl shook her head. "Sometimes, I actually go to that bush." She whispered, "I've found a rule, as long as he sees that the wound hasn't healed, he won't do it again." β
The boy frowned, and didn't say a word for a long time.
"Don't talk about that." The girl said, "Let's finish the game." How many questions do I have left? β
"Five." The boy glanced at the girl's arm a few more times.
"Is it something I can see right now?" She asked.
"Yes." The boy nodded.
"Isn't it round?"
"That's right."
"Isn't it yellow?"
"This ......" the boy looked up at the moon in the sky, "it does paint yellow when you paint, but in reality, how can you say it......"
"You're staring at it, and you're telling me to guess what." The girl said, "It's boring. She stood up and walked towards the house outside the woods.
"If he leaves you alone at home again, I'll come over to stay with you!" The boy yelled at the girl's back, "You're going to come out to see me too, aren't you?" It must come out! β
A puddle of sticky material fell on Ziang's shoulder.
"What do you mean by yellow," the boy turned his head and looked at Ziang, "it's obviously silver-gray." β
Ziang glanced at his shoulders in surprise, then raised his head.
A monster glowing with a silver-gray light stood behind Ziang. Its neck stretched out, allowing its organless head to hang over Ziang's head. The head opens up and down, forming a mouth full of wriggling mass with only the ends connected.
This terrifying scene surprised Ziang. He pulled out a whole stack of rune papers and threw them upwards at the same time.
The runes burned, creating a huge fireball.
The monster's mouth closed together, swallowing all the flames at once.
Ziang took a few steps back, ready to throw the rune paper at the monster again. "Bad, broken," his hand reaching into his trouser pocket didn't touch anything, "it's gone." β
The monster's head fell downward, and its body went limp, allowing it to melt into the ground.
The surrounding scene faded away. The things made up of lightβthe woods, the streets, and the boysβbecame blurred, and the nursery where Ziang had been at the beginning came to light.
A piece of paper appeared in Ziang's footsteps, it was half a piece of rune paper that had burned to his fingertips before. He bent down and picked it up.
The monster's big mouth drove its body to fly out of the ground and landed in front of Ziang.
"Wait, we can talk." Ziang hurriedly said, "I understand your feelings, and I can guess what happened to you." β
"People will change." A hoarse voice echoed in the nursery, "That's what happened. β
"I think he's never changed." Ziang responded, "It's just that you don't see clearly what kind of person he is. β
The silver-gray glow of the monster trembled. Its hands lengthened, eventually turning into two barbed tentacles like whips.
"Don't talk nonsense, you don't understand." The hoarse voice said, "Now, I'll let you choose ......"
The monster raised a tentacle in front of Ziang.
"You do it yourself," the husky voice continued, "still, I'll help you." β
Ziang's thigh was suddenly pushed by something, and the pocket of his pants that originally contained the rune paper immediately bulged. He frowned in bewilderment, then seemed to think of something, and smiled excitedly. "Snow, snow......" he repeated the word tremblingly, slowly reaching into his trouser pocket.
"Ask you again, do it yourself, or I'll come." A hoarse voice said.
"I feel sorry for you." Ziang said, "I finally trusted someone, but I was betrayed. You're right, I can't understand how you feel, but I want to say that when that boy took your hand for the first time and you didn't refuse, that moment was something you shouldn't forget. As for how long you think he will always be by your side, how long he can hold on is his business, and you are a little wishful thinking. β
The monster trembled again, swinging its whip-like hands at Ziang at the same time.
Ziang raised his hand holding half a piece of rune paper.
A huge pillar of yellow light erupted from the rune paper, dispersing the waving tentacles and the silver-gray glowing monsters, and creating a half-human-high hole in the wall on the other side of the room.
Ziang's pants pockets flattened. "Thanks, Shirley." He said, "If you could talk to Amilia, could you say a few nice words for me?" β
The large hole in the wall faces the front of the lonely house. Ziang walked into the cave and looked into the clearing below.
Emilia is still fighting. Many dark brown blades of light struck her from different angles, making her overwhelmed by dodging.
"You've had enough of it!" Ziang shouted, "Cecil! β
