Chapter 4: The Beginning of Wandering
When I woke up, I found myself still in the cockpit. However, only the normal lights in the cabin were still on, and all the equipment had been stopped. I rubbed my dazed head, trying to clear myself up.
I think I must have just been rescued by everyone, and I haven't had time to "unload" me yet. I didn't hesitate, turned around and opened the hatch, ready to walk out.
When I opened the hatch, a bright stream of sunshine and a very strong wave of heat suddenly rushed in. It was so hot, so dazzling, I subconsciously closed the hatch again.
After a few seconds of pause, I came back to my senses, thinking about what had just happened. I don't understand what the hell is going on, the temperatures are unusually high, the glare is shining, I don't know where I am now, but I'm sure it's definitely not a "headwind".
Illuminated by the dim lights of the cockpit, I felt the emergency restart button of the small ship, and when the button was pressed, the analog screen in front of me lit up.
The chime also sounded at this moment.
"Welcome to drive the αVII. small transport ship, the system warmly reminds ~ the ship is not standardized, and the relatives are in tears~"
I didn't have time to listen to the system's warm prompts, so my eyes were glued to the analog screen. After the simulation screen restarted, I finally saw the scene in front of the hull.
I couldn't help but be a little stunned, because the simulation screen showed a huge rock in front of the small ship. That's right, it's the rocks that are very common on Earth.
Am I back on Earth? I thought about it for a moment, then shook my head to myself.
Immediately after that, I pulled up the above, left, right, and rear views of the capsule and let them be displayed on the simulation screen. There is a problem with the camera on the back side, there is no picture, the scene captured by the camera on the left and right side is normal, the surrounding environment has grass, trees, and soil. If it weren't for the weird picture above, I would have felt like I was really back on Earth.
According to the images coming from above the ship's hull, there were two suns in the sky. One round of blood red, and one round of blue.
Even though I saw the picture, I still didn't believe it. With a bit of luck, I opened the hatch again. I braved the raging heat, stuck my head out, and looked up at the sky.
Sure enough, there really are two suns, one red and one blue! Here, it's definitely not the Earth! I closed the door again and returned to my seat. I started to get a little flustered, and then, with trembling hands, I turned on the communication network and tried to get in touch with the instructors.
"I can't connect to the communication network for the time being."
As I expected. I'm out of touch with everyone.
My mood became more and more irritable, and I lay down in my seat and calmed down for a while, until my mood calmed down.
I think I'm on an unknown planet. Should I be glad I survived, or should I be disgusted with the impermanence of fate? Is it still possible for me to meet my parents, big brother?
I lay in my seat, thinking about it. But soon, a very real question interrupted my musings.
Because I'm hungry.
I sat up. Rummaged around, trying to find something to eat. The hard work paid off, and I managed to find a pack of compressed biscuits that I had hidden under the passenger seat.
I unwrapped the biscuits, took a small bite, and took a sip in my mouth. I don't dare to eat too many cookies, I don't have water to drink now, just eating compressed cookies will exacerbate my thirst.
Sipping on the biscuits, I began to think about more practical questions. How should I live, as long as I live, there is hope. Food and water are the top priorities.
Despite the unknown planet out there, I couldn't continue to hide in the pod, I had to get out. I stood up and took out my spacesuit in the case on the back. We were each given a set of spacesuits, but we didn't usually use them much, after all, we basically didn't have a chance to get out of the cabin.
The spacesuit is made of a special material that is resistant to heat and cold, and can also isolate the outside environment, which is perfect for exploration.
I put on my spacesuit and removed a piece of the cabin detection computer from the small cabin. The various control equipment of the wheelhouse of a small ship is modular, which is very convenient to access and replace.
When everything was ready, I put on my helmet and opened the hatch again. The hatch was about a meter above the ground, and I jumped straight in. Surprisingly, the landing feels very soft to the touch, like jumping onto a large sponge.
I stood still and was about to take a step forward, but the next second, something unexpected happened. The ground beneath my feet began to move strangely.
This sudden turn of events really scared me. Fortunately, the speed of movement was not very fast, so I stood still and looked down. Only then did I realize that the strange "land" under my feet actually had dense little feet. These little feet move in a regular manner, allowing the "land" to move forward unhurriedly.
I looked at the "unknown creature" at my feet, and my legs couldn't help but go limp, this is, the land seemed to climb on top of a rock, and I fell backwards in a trance.
I fell backwards with my fart-strand and it still felt soft when I landed. I sat on the ground and looked around to make sure I was sitting on the real ground. Then I watched the "land" run farther and farther.
It seems that this place is dangerous, but fortunately the unknown creature has not noticed me. I looked down at the capsule detection computer in my hand and looked at the data displayed on it.
Temperature: 47°C.
Air pressure: 107.375kPa.
Air composition: oxygen - 27 percent, nitrogen - 72 percent, carbon dioxide - 0.1 percent......
I looked at the surroundings detected by the computer, and then called up the earth's environment and compared it. It was found that the planet is no different from the Earth, except for the high oxygen content in the air and the strong intensity of ultraviolet rays.
After reading the data, I turned around, and when I turned around, I noticed something surprising.
Just on the ship, I couldn't see the situation behind the hull due to damage to the camera on the rear side of the small ship. Now outside the ship, I have an unobstructed view, and behind the small ship I am driving, there is another small ship parked.
The small ship had been cut in two, and its cargo had been scattered, and the black boxes had fallen to the ground in a mess, and many of them had been broken.
Thinking that my colleague might still be alive, I immediately ran to the front of the cockpit of the small ship. The hatch needs to be unlocked by fingerprints, but at this time, the hatch of this small ship is not locked, but only hidden.
I stretched out my right hand and excitedly opened the hatch, only to see my colleague coming straight out of the cockpit. I was knocked to the ground by him, and I stood up and hurriedly helped him up.
When I lifted his head, I immediately noticed that my colleague was no longer alive, and he had several external wounds on his forehead, and his skull was faintly visible.
When I saw this, my stomach churned, and I let go of my hand, pulled up my helmet, and spat on the ground next to me.
After several mouthfuls in a row, I sat still, gasping for air. As the helmet was opened, the heat had already hit the spacesuit, and in a short time, my clothes were soaking wet.
I didn't care so much, I put my colleague's body aside and put his face facing the soil, I couldn't accept the miserable appearance of his skull. I then climbed into the cab and tried to rummage through something useful.
My colleague's cockpit was richer than I was, and I found three bottles of water in the cockpit and some casual puffed snacks.
I unscrewed a bottle of water and drank it all down. Maybe it's because of sweating, but when I drank this bottle of water, I didn't feel any use, but I became more and more thirsty.
I resisted the urge to drink another bottle and jumped out of the cockpit. I just saw that the carrying compartment of my colleague's small ship had cracked and the boxes inside were damaged, so I needed to rummage to see if there was anything usable.
