Section A Chapter 10: Anxiety (Ellia/Lolo)
After a moment of panic, Ellia's wheelchair sped forward and slid through a bend in the hallway.
Be quick...... Be quick, Lolo...... Her mind was in turmoil. And the second acceleration of the wheelchair shows that Luo Luo has clearly read her thoughts and emotions - between the two, very strong thoughts can be read by the other party, and there is no need for a heart-to-heart dialogue to achieve.
Ellia's mind was gripped by fear, and she could only think of one thing.
What should I do if something happens to my father?
She had never thought about it, and she didn't dare to control herself.
For a moment, she couldn't help but think back to three similar things that had happened to her as a child years ago—most likely because of her father's feud with her father when he was a knight under Count Divid.
The first time was when three men barged in in the middle of the night, knocked themselves unconscious and put them in sacks, and tried to cut their throats - but Dad knocked them all unconscious.
The second attack was just three days later, and it's hard to imagine that someone didn't pay them to come here. The number had increased to four, but the guarded father had already picked up his shield when they arrived, breaking most of their bones without injuring their names.
The last time was 10 years ago...... Dad left himself and Lolo on a hillside and went to pick fruit in the nearby woods - the two knife-wielding robbers, who had decided that Elia could sell her for a good price, rushed forward after she left. However, Lolo's light shot stunned both of them before they could make contact with Elria.
Thinking of this, Ellia felt a little relieved that Lolo was still there.
The house that Count Nakmarian Divard had given her father was already a big one in Ellia's mind—but most importantly, she had little chance of going in and out of the other houses. Living here every day since she was a child, she has figured out every structure on the first floor of the house. Even without vision, the structure of the entire house can be clearly seen in the mind.
The house has two floors, but the second floor is almost exclusively a guest room and storage room - going up the stairs is inconvenient for the disabled Elya, so the second floor of the house is only occasionally climbed by her father.
This changed a little bit after having Lolo...... If he wants, Lolo can levitate his wheelchair in the air. However, Ellia didn't have much interest in the second floor: since the study was on the first floor, she spent almost all of her day listening to the words that Lolo told her in her heart. And the voice that came out of Lolo's halo built a bridge between the hearts of Ellia and outsiders.
She was grateful to Lolo...... It is already impossible to imagine life without it.
The Ayas are very fond of pets like this, where they can live, play, and share their emotions together. In fact, it was because Cyberdat saw that many of Aya liked the light ball that he remembered to give one to Elia. He had told his father that he would be Ellia's best friend and add a little color to her life.
In fact, it does.
Lolo is not only her friend, family, playmate and protector. Also her vocal cords, eyes and legs.
"Will you leave me?" Lorlo?" asked Ellia countless times.
Lolo's patience seemed to be limitless, and he always replied, "No, the messenger of the light will only disappear from the world when the master returns to the realm of night, so the light ball can only make a pact with one master."
Because of the rapid turn of the corner, her thoughts were tilted back by the centrifugal force, and Elia's body trembled slightly.
After turning the last corner, after a slow slowdown, I came to the door of my father's room, which took about twenty seconds.
Like a terrible wail in her ear, it was the bedroom door—and Elria's heart was beating.
The wheelchair rotated ninety degrees, and Ellia could feel the sound coming from in front of her, only the door away.
The wheelchair moved back a little further, and Lolo seemed worried about what would come out when the door was opened.
"I'm going to open the door, master?" Lolo also seemed a little nervous.
A light blue glow wrapped around the doorknob, and it twisted slightly.
Listening to the sound of the lock cylinder beating, that unknown fear came back again.
Experiencing this fear once again, Ellia was shocked to find that all she had felt in that time was anxiety.
I still don't know where the fear comes from......
I couldn't feel that kind of sight, only the deafening scream.
The doorknob is completely unscrewed, and the door opens slowly.
The screaming came to an abrupt end, and the room opened.
"I'll go inside, master. Lolo flew out of his arms and into the door.
Lolo emitted a dazzling light that lit up the room. The room was quiet, and the quilt made it clear that someone had slept here not long ago.
To verify this, the quilt and sheets are covered in a ghostly light, which then fades.
Ellia grew terrified. She always felt like something was oozing from behind her...... A thing that dwells in darkness and nightmares.
It was staring at her...... Elia, who couldn't feel her gaze, was a little uneasy.
"It is possible for those who cannot see to perceive the 'unspeakable'" - a saying that Sebodat once told her that was widely circulated in the Moonshade Forest and the city of Eloa, but he added: "But it is said that only a subset of people who meet certain conditions can do it." And, it seems, it must be congenitally blind"
Actually, Allia did get excited about it - but she wasn't excited anymore when she realized that seeing the so-called 'unspeakables' wasn't lucky.
"It's just because the senses of the blind are so sensitive that you can often hear something very special. That's the answer Dad gave. He wants his daughter to have peace of mind - and Ellia is well aware that her father has been trying to keep her living in peace.
"Is Daddy there, Lolo? inside...... Is there anything?" she knew there was nothing terrible in it, as Lolo didn't react.
"Daddy was just here. After flying around the room, Luo Luo said, "Not long after he left, I measured the temperature of the bed, and there is still some residual temperature. ”
"Daddy...... Will you go to the bathroom?" Ellia seemed to have auditory hallucinations: she seemed to hear a gurgling sound behind her, as if a sticky mass was oozing out.
"Lolo!" ...... behind me," Ellia hurriedly called for help.
"Huh?" Luo Luo flew back to his master and turned around behind his wheelchair: "Nothing, master?"
"I really hear it. Ellia insisted, "Take a good look, Lolo." ”
Luo Luo magnified the light, and then shrank back: "It's really not, master......"
"That's it. Ellia was suspicious: just as Lolo flew out, the sound stopped abruptly. Yet she still felt something staring at her from behind.
Remembering the dream before midnight, she shivered: the room temperature around her was indeed a little low, and the city of Tomeca in early autumn was already bitterly cold.
Feeling the hypothermia of the owner, Luo Luo flew back to the girl to emit heat, and the girl recovered her body temperature slightly.
"Let's go to the bathroom?" suggested the ball of light.
Ellia nodded, but just as the wheelchair was about to move, a loud bang came from the second floor.
"It's upstairs!" Luo Luo said nervously.
"It's Dad...... What is he doing upstairs?" El Lia wondered - the luggage was already ready. Could it be something he had forgotten? Allia thought carefully about what her father had said—he was going to leave before dawn.
But what else is wrong...... Lolo and I both heard thirty-five bells ringing as if in a dream, and it was not a hallucination.
The wheelchair spun around and moved to the corner of the hallway. "Let's go have a look, host...... It's really Dad's words, and it's reassuring. ”
"Wait...... Stop for a moment. El Lea pressed the ball of light, and the wheelchair slowly stopped.
"What's the matter, master?"
"Can't you hear me......? Elria's heart ached, and she clutched her chest in pain.
"Nothing, master?" Lolo was a little puzzled.
"Let's go, Lolo!" Ellia gasped. That inexplicable sense of fear struck again.
She still didn't understand where that terrified gaze was coming from, only that there was another gaze staring at her in the corridor behind her.
That thing crawled out of where it was...... It melts into darkness and has no form.
