Section A Chapter 9: Midnight's Dream (Elia)

The girl was sitting in a wheelchair, and the wheelchair that usually needed to be enchanted with a light ball was moving forward on its own. It walked slowly, the space around it dead silent, without a sound.

The wheelchair kept moving forward, and it seemed that the road would never end.

Ellia was overwhelmed by the maddening silence, and she listened desperately, but there was no response.

Even the sound of wheelchair tires rolling has been erased.

However, a sound came from somewhere, so far away that even the girl's hearing could not tell exactly where it was coming from.

The sound stopped abruptly after a few seconds, and then resounded after a long dead silence.

With no end in sight, Ellia became more and more anxious, and she called out to Lolo again to protect her, but received no response. Dad couldn't be here......

Finally, the long-dormant sound rang again, and it seemed to be the sound of a bell.

Ellia listened intently, holding her breath.

Three times ...... Nine ...... Fifteen ...... The girl recorded the number at once, and finally after the thirty-fifth strike, a miserable wail came from behind her.

There was a deafening wail, and the girl's heart was beating wildly.

The wails grew more and more terrible, and the indescribable thing slowly walked towards the girl from the darkness behind her.

At some point, the wheelchair was already parked in place. The girl was frightened and pushed the wheelchair with her hands, but she did not move. She struggled, trying to get out of her wheelchair. In any case, the girl did not want to face the threat behind her.

However, she felt a pull as she got up. She lowered her body and felt that her ankles were already in metal shackles, unable to be freed from her wheelchair. A sense of despair wells up in her heart, and Ellia slumps into her wheelchair, waiting for death.

Finally, something in the darkness put the slimy "claw" on Ellia, and the wheelchair spun one hundred and eighty degrees.

She was already facing it, and the girl's heart was beating as she realized it. She desperately imagined what the monster would look like, and her mind went blank.

The screams shook her ears and terror choked her throat.

Lolo, Daddy...... She was still helpless trying to call out to her loved ones.

There was no response, and Allia was in tears, mentally prepared.

As the wailing stopped, a powerful pull came, and before the girl could react, the monster tore off one of her arms and nibbled on it. The girl wailed silently, tears streaming from her eyes.

After eating one of its arms, the monster tries to pick up the girl, but is stopped by the shackles. Impatiently, it tore off the girl's legs. Even Elia, who couldn't feel the pain in her legs, was reminded by the strong pull that she had truly lost her legs.

Feeling herself lifted, Elria's breathing became rapid from the pain and impending death.

Finally, after the monster tore off a piece of breast flesh, the pain brought Ellia back to her bed, and she woke up suddenly. My first instinct was to feel if my left arm was still there - fortunately, it was still being used to hold the orb of light.

However, the pain in the severed arm and the skin on her chest remained, and Ellia couldn't stop the phantom pain, allowing it to rage for more than a dozen seconds before calming down.

"It hurts, Lolo......" Ellia called out to the ball of light from within.

It's still pale blue, but the ball of light that has been turned to invisible shines again.

"......Uhh I was worried just now. Where does it hurt, master?"

Ellia was silent for a moment, and told the ball of light about her dream.

"Wow, what a terrible dream...... It's been a bit frequent...... lately," Luo Luo asked worriedly.

"Uh-huh......" Ellia gasped softly, her ears searching the room for the slightest sound.

El Lea would always have dreams, dreams that she couldn't understand in the slightest.

Many sounds...... Roars, whistling winds, muffled voices.

She told her father about it, but every time it was-

"It's just a dream. Dad would always say, "Many dreams don't mean much, they're just a reflection of daytime life - it might be better to have Lolo read you some light-hearted stories." ”

"But my master and I have seen in books the Grey Prophet who uses dreams as prophecies?" Lolo had asked.

"Those prophets are long gone, and no one has been able to truly become a grey prophet for many years......" Dad replied.

She never opened her eyes in a dream...... Or when you don't know where you are in your dreams, you can only see the darkness.

Sure enough, the world of the blind is always dark, and that can only be the case in dreams...... The girl thought to herself: how much she longed to see the colors and see what the world was like......

Recently, her dreams have been terrible, and they are getting more and more terrifying......

However, tonight's dream was too real, and she feared something—she had been feeling that someone was watching her since the evening......

Like the monster in the dream...... This thought really stimulated her. The pain of being eaten alive by that monster made her tremble.

Her ears seemed to hear some subtle sound, which made her even more anxious: "Luo Luo, go and take a look." ”

The ball of light flew out of his bosom and returned a moment later: "Nothing, master. ”

Hearing this, Ellia, who seemed to be more at ease, was still surrounded by some indescribable fear, and Ellia held the ball of light in her arms and could no longer sleep.

"I don't want to sleep, Lolo......" Ellia touched the ball of light that gave her a sense of security, "Stay with me until dawn, and we'll leave here with Daddy...... "It's not safe anymore - she remembered what Dad had said.

I don't know how long it took, but there was a "click", and the harbinger of the midnight bell had already struck. Feeling extremely dull in her chest, she hugged the ball of light to her right side and turned over with difficulty.

Maybe it's the heart that's being compressed...... The girl thought to herself: she had 'read' in a book that sleeping on her left side was compressing her heart. She hoped that this was the origin of the terrible dream.

One time...... Double-click...... Three times ...... The girl listened to the bells.

She counted the bells one by one, as if waiting for something.

Nine ...... Ten times...... Eleven ......

The girl held her breath.

...... Twelve.

Ellia calmed down a little, let go of Lolo a little, and leaned her head up.

However, after a moment of silence, the bell rang again.

Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen......

As if her heart had been struck hard, Ellia shivered and crawled to her feet.

"Luo Luo......" she anxiously reached out and touched the wheelchair beside the bed.

"We need to get out of the room, Lolo......" Ellia panicked. A familiar burst of soft energy swept over her, holding her up and moving her towards her wheelchair. In order to make it easier for Ellia to use the wheelchair, the wheelchair is controlled by Lolo on weekdays.

The wheelchair is specially made by Anusen, not only a tailor-made small wheelchair, but also has a storage compartment at the back, and a flap above the thigh that can be closed from the left and right sides, made of leather on the top and soft bristles on the bottom to avoid friction on the legs. You can put books, drinking glasses, etc., on the baffle, or you can put your hand on it.

After ringing the bell thirty-three times, the wheelchair with a light blue invisible light slid out of the door, and Ellia hugged the ball of light: "Lolo, go to Daddy's ......"

Thirty-four bells rang, and Ellia waited nervously for the last.

...... Thirty-five times. Both Ellia and Lolo fell completely silent.

A terrible wail sounded in the direction of ......

Daddy's room.
