Chapter 58: Three People
Thankfully, Gwen changed out of her torn clothes. She loves the sea as much as any girl who has grown up in 30 minutes of Klonula, but the distinctive smell of the fishy sea is hard to eliminate.
Elvia asks Gwen to leave her dirty clothes behind, but Gwen puts them in her ring anyway. Regardless, the dirty laundry remained still, and she was ashamed to think of Elvia or her mother picking among her close friends.
Earlier, the crowd outside had been barking wildly in search of answers. Gwen has nothing to give, but she hopes that as long as she doesn't drop a giant "empty" bomb, things will work out. To be honest, the opportunity to get into "two" magic schools is not so magical. Surprising is the age she can reach.
For every mage, two schools of magic mean hard work and relentless practice. Even her master, Henry Kielroy, was once a magician, then a shapeshifter, and finally a summoner, among other things.
For her master, it is his ability to access all four essential elemental planes that makes him truly unique. And Sofina, who gave his life and exhausted his gift, giving him the nickname "Henry the Immortal".
She carefully put on a new set of underwear, followed by a vintage polka-dot sundress she bought near Suriya, which was made by a local makeup artist. She then wiped the water from her hair with a towel and shaped a one-sided tassel with her hands. The result is that she looks humble and country-like, but at least she's comfortable.
Elvia's eyes sparkle when Gwen appears.
"Tell me everything!" her friend took her hand and squeezed it as if she were juicing.
"I will, I promise!" Gwen replied, but not now, maybe later, there were guests outside. You've got to go to Christmas carols, don't you?"
Elvia was angry. She hates any kind of attention, well-meaning or otherwise. Despite this, she dotes on her father, not to mention Gwen herself, and is very much looking forward to Elvia's performance.
The Lindholmes family was not religious at all, but judging by Gwen's limited conversations with his mother, they were very sentimental about Europe. The original patriarch of the family was refugees from Austria-Hungary, and although they had been exiled since the 60s, they had maintained all the white Christmas traditions.
"Don't worry, Eve. Please take a look!" she couldn't help but laugh. Elvia in a white dress, singing Christmas carols?
Not surprisingly, as soon as Gwen appeared, they were surrounded. Gwen gives a universal answer to all questions, and that is that she is not "free" to talk about the pain of ex-communication from her mysterious master.
After repeating aloud the answers she had prepared for a dozen guests, the old questions were gone. Now, they're interested in her private life: is she dating, who is her mother, what about her house, etc.
When Gwen becomes flustered again, she finds Richard alone wandering relentlessly around the buffet table, pondering which snack he prefers.
"Richard!" she shouted.
He raised his glass to her.
She ran up to him and hooked his elbow.
"This is my cousin Richard, the heir to my house!" she announced. "He will answer all your questions. β
"I will?" Richard raised an eyebrow at Gwen.
"Help me, Richard," she whispered in his ear that I didn't know what to do with these people. I don't even understand what they're talking about. β
"Okay. Richard lowered his head, then turned to the crowd.
"You. Richard points to a questioner, you go first. β
"Does Ms. Song have a partner in mind?" the middle-aged man asked carefully.
"No, but I hope you're not asking for yourself. Next!"
Gwen's face turned bright red, and she wondered if she had made a serious mistake by asking Richard for help. Maybe she should stop Richard before he says something irreversible.
The crowd grunted excitedly.
"Who is the Huang Clan Sect Master?" someone asked.
"Huang Suya, my grandfather, is a high-level wizard related to the tower. β
More murmurs were generated.
"Artists?" someone asked.
"Same. β
"He's a wizard?" a voice said skeptically, I thought he had just made a work of art. β
"Does Ms. Song's father belong to the house?"
"No, next!"
"What is her father's origin?"
"Abandon the fourth layer. Next!"
The crowd looked confused. Gwen's father was a nobody? That doesn't seem right. If she's the progenitor of her gift, then she's less popular if she has a strange family history of multi-school awakenings.
"What is Ms. Song looking for in her partner?" asked some of the more interested Gwen.
The crowd scoffed.
"Do you have any particular preferences?"
Richard expertly measured Gwen, placing one hand on her head and the other on her hips, like a car salesman marveling at the curves of a Pininafana model.
"No shorts. You have to be so tall to get in. Next!"
Gwen hesitated.
Richard's job is too good and now she wants to get rid of his wildness. However, the crowd was now merry, and the atmosphere had lost the seriousness it had just had.
Asking Richard to watch his dog and pony show, Gwen slowly retreats and joins Elvia. Thankfully, after Richard once again shouted "next" as skillfully as an auctioneer, the guests were soon fine.
"I'm sorry, Eve," Gwen apologized for ruining the Christmas party.
"I think we should blame Eric! β
Gwen agreed, but was still sorry.
"Miss Songβ"
At this time, they are joined by Elvia's father, Frederick, and an unhappy Eric, who looks like a helpless kitten facing an upcoming bath.
"Eric, apologies," Frederick ordered.
"I'm sorry. β
"It's okay, Erik," Gwen replied sweetly Don't worry, huh?"
"Gwen. Elvia's father coughed to get her attention, and if there's anything in the family that can help you, just ask. β
Gwen felt a little flinched.
"Please, Mr. Lindholm, you don't have to. β
"I'm serious. "The man is still serious, please tell your master about today. The boy - he's not the best spell in the book. I'm at fault too. When he asked for my permission, I didn't see any harm. That's my short-sightedness. If you need to blame someone else, I'm happy to take responsibility-
"Mr. Lindholm!" Gwen interjected, please, it was okay. I promise. Won't hurt Eric or Elvia, or anyone in your family. We're just kids of mixed hands. β
Frederick's expression became much gentler than before.
"Thank you. β
"It's me who should apologize," Gwen replied earnestly.
Frederick nodded, and Gwen watched as the father ruffled his son's hair before brushing his fingers over Elvia's cheek. "Take care of our guests, you two. β
The children watched as their father returned to their mother with good news. Elaine, too, held her breath.
Gwen's gaze met Elvia's, and she could see the gears in her best friend's gray-haired head turning. The girl misread the situation.
"Whatever I have talented, Eve, it won't change our relationship. "She held Elvia's hand, we are friends, we are a team! β
Elvia's lovely blue eyes gleamed with anxiety, as if she had seen Gwen for the first time. Gwen guessed right, and the girl was stunned by her father's attitude. If Gwen and Frederick are equals, what about Elvia? What is her place in all this?
"Butβ"
"No, Avia, Eve, I'm just Gwen, you know what, your friend!" Gwen wondered if she could do something to make Elvia understand.
Eric looks frustrated, probably realizing that he might have messed up the dog this time.
The three of them stood together like this, forming an awkward triangle: one didn't know what to say, one couldn't hear what the other said, and the other wanted to leave but couldn't.
Ding-dong ding-dong!
Doorbells proved to be a popular pastime.
"I'll get it. Eric hurried away.
"Eve......" Gwen put her hand on Avia's shoulder.
The humble doctor treats her friend with caution and still hesitates, not knowing how she should treat her friend according to her new knowledge. When she first met Gwen, her friends had always been a joke, being ridiculed by the lowliest, most ungifted mages. Later, Gwen became a lightning summoner and was close to the legendary Alexia de Botton, and now she is a summoner. What's more, Gwen was most likely apprenticed by a mage, and now even her father is afraid of Gwen.
If so, can they still be friends? Avia felt the weight of Gwen's feelings, like a ball and a chain. Didn't she give up Lilith to escape nobility? she liked Gwen, even loved her, but now, Avia wanted to cry. She finally found someone kind and gentle, but now she is not good enough. Will her modest talent become a burden to her friends, and will Gwen get tired of her when she inevitably has to go to a first-tier city?
"Eve, hey, are you still inside?" Gwen watched as Evia performed her clairvoyant gaze. She wondered if she should give Elvia an electric shock, a tap from her finger that woke her out of her stupor. The girl was thinking too much.
"Hey, I'm back!"
A scream came from upstairs and resounded throughout the atrium.
Eric stumbled down the stairs with a frightened look on his face.
"I... I think we're under attack!" he stammered.
The girls followed Eric's finger and saw a familiar figure fall. Their eyes saw a pair of dirty leather boots, also stained with blood and bloodstains, at the knees of military cargo. In the image above, two pharmacists hang from their broad hips, hooked to a dyed combat suit. The intruder had a heavy-looking backpack on his shoulder, which contained a variety of camping tools.
Finally, in the mess of gear, there was a head full of unkempt hair, forming a heart-shaped face.
"Rambo?" Gwen muttered, frightened. "Is it Mr. Yue?"
Elvia was speechless with excitement.
"Guys!" Yue screamed from the top of the stairs. She untied something, her gear falling to the ground, making a sound like two skeletons making out on a pewter bulge roof. "I miss you so much!
Xiao Yue jumped down the stairs twice at once.
An arm that exuded the scent of the jungle wrapped around Gwen's neck, and Elvia was treated in the same way, reluctantly swept into the arms of the Grim Reaper of survival training.
Gwen staggered back, choking.
Elvia turned green.
"Haha. "Yue is smiling happily, you can finally share my pain!"
Gwen exuded a little mana to calm herself down until Carnaps found their way back.
"It's nice to see you, how did you come back, where is Alexia?"
"Go back to the apartment. Yue smiled and said that I came directly, not to Miss Christmas. After all, this is Elvia's party. β
"I thought you lost contact?" Elvia forced herself to swallow. "Did you receive my invitation?"
"I received it as soon as I arrived at Divi Station," Yue said as we flew and teleported as best we could, fighting any creatures that emerged along the way. Still, it took us 8 hours! There was no time to change. β
"I smell it. β
"I'm so glad you're here!"
The girls gushed.
Gwen glanced at Elvia stealthily; her friend was now distracted. She realizes that, sooner or later, she will have to confess to her friends. The secret suppurated without investigation.
"How long is there until your show?" asked Gwen.
Elvia looked at the clock.
"About thirty minutes?"
"Good. Xiaoyue, clean up yourself. Eve, can you use your bathroom?"
"Of course, I'll go change her clothes. β
Gwen handed over a hand to Yue's gear and placed everything in her storage ring. Yue whistled.
"Go forward in the world!"
"It's a long story. "Gwen studied Elvia for a moment, then turned back to Yue, I'll tell you everything, I promise. β
Yue Nian's awkward atmosphere.
"Do you have any clues?"
"There's nothing like that. β
Elvia smiled, her demeanor taciturn.
"I'll be back!" Yue shrugged his shoulders No matter what questions you have, please tell me about the bathroom first. β
Gwen has changed again. This time she took off her dirty dress and replaced it with a pair of white shorts. As for Elvia, it's no surprise that she has an endless set of white dresses. After changing her costume, the girl left Gwen and Yue alone to wait for the last celebration of the night.
Behind the sliding door, Xiao Yue took a shower, humming a little song and washing away the dirt, moaning and enjoying the hot water and the clean and moisturizing soap.
"So. "Yue's voice penetrated the door?"
"yes, I'm stuck in the sea. β
"Oops?"
Gwen snorted.
"I'm sorry to get mixed up with some bad habits. β
"No, the frankness is refreshing. β
"Well, don't let it grow on you. Xiaoyue finished taking a shower. "I'm trying to control myself and don't want our innocent Eve to get into bad habits. β
Xiao Yue pushed the door open.
"Wow," Gwen turned away, blushing terribly. "Your puppy is out for a walk. β
Mr. Yue shrugged.
"You're used to it in the wild," she replied. "There were very few showers, and there were leeches the size of snakes in the river. There is no time for modesty and comfort. β
"What the hell did you do?" asked Gwen, turning around.
There was the sound of clothes hurriedly putting on one.
"Yue, are you decent?"
She replied with a pair of arms wrapped around her waist.
"It's nice to be back in the real world. Yue's voice was a little dark.
"Yue?"
"Wait a minute," Yue said. "Just make sure it's real and not a dream. β
Gwen didn't move.
"I'm real. β
"I know. β
"What tissues?"
Yue patted her cheek.
"Well, I'm fine. Mom, let's go see how our daughter is doing. β
"What?" I always thought I was a father," Gwen asked suspiciously.
"Hah! I think it's beautiful!" Yue laughed, invading Wen's privacy and making her cry. "Oh my God, you've lost weight, where did the meat go?"
"I succeeded. β
"It's a long story?" Yue You's hands are idle. "Damn the oath, you're all bones. Nobody likes that!"
"I'll take care of it - wait, what's that?"
The sound of music came from above.
"We're going to miss Elvia's performance!"
When the carol was about to begin, the girls walked into the living room.
More than a dozen children, mostly boys in white shirts and ivory vests, lined up by the pier. A magician creates hundreds of floating dancing lanterns that lazily swim through the air and over children. Like fireflies, flickering sparks dance across the water, illuminating the singers.
Elvia stepped forward, glistening in the white light, exuding an aura similar to that of a god. She stared upwards at Wen Yue, her bright blue eyes twinkling with excitement, and then began to sing.
Steele Nack~Hello~
Ales Schleft
This is a good example.
Holder Knabuim Lokgen Hall,
Sheraf in Himlisherru!
Sheraf in Himlisherru!
Angelic voices and soft piano music fade into the darkness of the bay, commemorating the birth of a god-like being that will change the world for the next millennium. When the singing was getting better, the girls stood alone, with their thoughts and stories, waiting for the long night.
