Section E, Chapter 14: The Rotten Jailer-3 (Vicor)
Hurriedly stopped using the dagger to parry the attack, and saw the machete fall suddenly, and the weapon he held in his backhand was smashed down with a "bang" and bounced to the ground half a meter away.
The pain in his wrist was excruciating, and he felt the blow he had just hit nearly dislocate. At this moment, the enemy jerked away from the shield and slashed again.
Barely able to react, Vicol hurriedly rolled sideways and rolled under the table. Enraged by the swing of the air, the enemy roared loudly, slashing the table above the sentry's head. Picking up the leg with his right hand, Vicol gasped and flipped the table, smashing open the slashing blade. With the sound of wood breaking, he immediately picked up the remains of the other half of the square table and slammed it into the face of the corruptor with all his might.
Interrupted by the attack, the enemy clutched his head and stepped back, letting out a howl of growing rage. Not feeling any closer to him and picking up the dagger, the sentry dragged his bloody legs and staggered into the depths of the dungeon: he had to find a cell to lock himself in before waiting for help to come - as soon as the ice that froze the door was gone, Captain Eders would lead the guards down to the dungeon as soon as possible. And what I have to do is to live until then.
The pain in his back and shoulders became numb, and all the pain around him seemed to be no longer real: the brain was thrilled by the battle after a real life-threatening and desperate counterattack. The belief in survival obscures the reception of pain signals and supports the body to act with overload.
The footsteps of the enemy behind him snapped up, and the roar grew closer. Pulling at an iron chair beside him, Vicor spun around, slammed it at the Corruptor and fled. To his surprise, however, the enemy frantically flicked his whip and threw it back at the sentry after hooking the leg of the chair with precision.
Listening to the sound of the chair smashing behind him, Vicol's heart was beating wildly. Constantly overturning tables, chairs, and iron chests along the way to hinder the enemy's advance, the sentry finally found an unlocked cell with the door ajar. Without thinking much about it at all, he hurried into it and closed the iron door behind him.
Something is wrong! Somehow must be found to stop it! Listening to the terrifying roar, Vikol's head short-circuited for a moment was terrified - he didn't even realize that the cell had to be locked from the outside. To make matters worse, if he tried to break in, he couldn't even get to the door: the door was pulled outward, and there were no handrails inside to focus on.
What to do?!!!
He must not be allowed to enter the door...... The fear grew stronger, and the sentry quickly looked around the room, and finally his eyes lit up: he saw a section of steel chains.
As if he had found a savior, Vicol hurriedly grabbed the chain and pulled it to the door. Sticking out of the iron bars on either side of the cell door as fast as he could, he swung the chain around the iron door, and withdrew the heads of the chains from opposite sides, holding one in each hand. Just as he had done this, the figure of the enemy appeared behind the dense iron bars: his expression became more and more distorted, and his whole face began to drip pus.
Trembling against the iron door, the sentry forced himself not to stare into the terrifying blue eyes. Leaning against the cell door and tightening the chains, Vicor felt his hands sweat profusely, and the chains slipped in his palms.
He can't attack me from this position...... Looking nervously at the iron railing beside him, the sentry tried to calm down: as long as I hold this only exit, I will be safe.
The sound of the giant blade slashing through the chains soon followed, and it began to rattle continuously. After a dozen seconds of the suffocating slashing sound, the sentinel's annoyed shouts finally calmed the sentry: it seemed that it was slashing through the chains. Now you can rest assured......
Suddenly, a huge pull came through the chain. With a furious roar, the door panel collided violently with the chains, and the sound of metal friction continued to sound. Clutching them desperately, the Sentinel pulled the ends of the chain closer together with all his might, preventing it from being broken through by the enemy's excessive pull.
Even though it didn't require too much strength to resist due to the chaining method, the Sentinel was still inferior to the Corruptor's overwhelming power duel, and the iron door behind him was forced out of a gap. At the same time that the gap was widened in an instant, the machete was plunged into it, completely preventing the door from closing.
In an instant, the pull of the door panel and the pry of the machete struck at the same time, constantly widening the crack. Pulling the chains as hard as he could, the sentry only felt more and more dizzy: his own force was too strong, tearing at his already severe wounds.
As long as I can hold on to the chains, he won't be able to get through this door...... Gritting his teeth, the sentinels kept giving orders for themselves to hold on: just hold on a little longer...... Soon, he will realize that his efforts have been in vain.
Fortunately, the enemy gave up the forced breakthrough after a few moments. Drawing the machete back sharply, he shouted angrily, pacing beyond the iron bars for a moment before slowly leaving.
Finally gone...... Seeing him leave, Vicol sat down on the ground like a broken string. Listening to the footsteps that grew farther and farther away, the sentry felt exhausted. The tense nerves finally relaxed, and the pain of those wounds returned, almost making him faint.
However, the footsteps rang out again a moment later, alerting Vicor again. Just as the enemy was once again visible to him, the sentry rose in astonishment and stepped back: the enemy carried a heavy hammer and walked into the nearby cell.
He was trying to smash the door down! As soon as the cell door was pushed open, a sledgehammer slammed into the wall, and a few seconds later a huge crack was smashed.
The sledgehammer flicked at a rapid pace and smashed the iron door. Hurriedly running in the opposite direction, Vicor's heart was filled with fear: what should I do now?! If I can't even hide in a prison cell......
As he fled, he picked up the broken wooden chair and threw it back. A dull sound signaled that the enemy had been smashed, but the Corruptor did not stop in pursuit. Desperately picking up a torch, Vicol threw it backwards again, then turned and ran.
However, to his surprise, this time the enemy's screams were extremely painful. Turning back in astonishment, the sentry slowly retreated from believing what was in front of him: the torch had set half of his body on fire. The black ice melted and spread again, and it took a few seconds to completely extinguish the flames.
This guy ...... Stunned for a moment, the Sentinel remembered Nadia's research: Isn't that right?!His research results clearly mean that the corrupted before they die are not afraid of fire.
Without respite, seeing the enemy return, Vicol hurriedly pulled out another torch from the wall and threw it again. The blow hit the enemy again, and the Corruptor cried out in pain and threw down his machete. Feeling excited, Vicor hurriedly looked around, dismantled a candlestick, and threw it at the enemy.
This little flame is not enough...... Seeing the flame slowly extinguished, the Sentinel stepped back anxiously and slammed into a wooden cabinet. With a casual glance, his eyes widened and he picked up a glass bottle on it: it seemed to be lamp oil.
Without hesitation, he immediately unscrewed the lid and turned back to the enemy. The bottle smashed above the Corruptor's head, and the lamp oil splattered out, all drenched in flames. With a violent explosion, the flaming jailer fell with a loud wail.
Finally relieved, the sentry felt a sense of detachment hit him. All the pain instantly revived, tormenting Vikol's body several times over. Desperately walking towards the exit, his consciousness became more and more blurred: I lost too much blood, maybe I have to bandage myself......
A low wail resounded through the dungeon, and the Sentinel was stunned and wanted to turn back. However, at this moment, the violent jumping sound shook the ground, and the pain that pierced the heart swept through the body. Trembling and bowing his head, the last scene he saw before he fell unconscious was the machete that was plunged deep into his chest.
