CHAPTER XXIX

Everyone in Spider Tail Alley seems to be accustomed to this unusually hardworking child, running from the last building to No. 19 at six o'clock in the morning, and then returning to the ordinary brick house of No. 19. The owner of the house had not lived here for a long time, probably since the end of the summer vacation of the previous year, when the girl had lived here, and the man of the house had been occasionally seen in the alley: a man who was obviously not as cute and approachable as the girl. The most common expression is a cold face, as if everyone owes him a lot of money.

Sally finished her run, sweating profusely, she returned to room 19, where hot milk and breaded eggs were already on the table for breakfast. The dining table had been brought by Snape, and she had it when she had been here for the summer. She wasn't sure where the table came from, as it seemed to be older than she was from the looks alone. Fortunately, it is strong enough, and it does not delay the use of the tablecloth after laying it out.

"Let's take a shower first. Snape said with a frown as she watched Sally come in from the door and wanted to sit down to eat.

"It's not good to take a shower right after exercising. Sally retorted. "Let the sweat go down and wash it. ”

"At least wash your hands first. Snape said forcefully. Sally pursed her lips, put down the bread she had just gotten her hands on, went back to the house and took a quick shower, changed into a floral dress and walked out. Snape was already sitting at the other end of the table, sipping his coffee and reading the Daily Prophet.

Sally sat in her place, took a few sips of milk, and ate the eggs. She doesn't like eggs, but in her godfather's mind, eggs seem to be one of the essential foods for a child's growth. At least one egg a day was one of the things she made with him.

"If you don't have time in the morning to tutor me on my essay on shrinkage potions. Sally swallowed the egg with the milk, and said, "I want to go to Mrs. McCard, whose aunt was one of the witches who had been burned in the fourteenth century, and she told me that she had the materials I needed to write my dissertation." If I promise to have lunch with her, she will be happy to lend it to me."

"I remember when I gave my homework, I said that students should do it independently. Snape didn't even look up, and said, "Instead of letting you cut corners here." ”

"We haven't studied the shrinkage potion systematically at all, Professor. In fact, that's something we'll be formally learning next semester, and I suspect only Hermione's assignments will satisfy you. Sally tore the loaf of bread and said, "If you don't have time to tutor me, let me borrow your textbook, I only need a morning." ”

Sally soaked the torn bread in milk before throwing it into her mouth. "Actually, you and I made a deal that I would run every day for the summer and an egg, and you would help me with my Potions homework. ”

"But the summer vacation is only halfway over. Snape seemed to finish reading the paper, and threw it together as if it were next to him, and the paper flew to the coffee table on its own. He picked up a slice of bread, "It's still a month." ”

"Cunning. Sally muttered quietly, and of all the subjects, the most troublesome for her, apart from the essay on the history of magic that burned witches in the fourteenth century was complete nonsense, was Professor Snape's essay on shrinking potions.

"Since you're not going to tutor my dissertation on shrinkage potion. Sally got up, picked up Snape's daily Prophet from the coffee table, and said, "Then I'll have to go to Mrs. McCard first to finish my other paper." Then she walked into her bedroom.

Snape spent almost every summer at 19 Spider's End Alley, spending all of his time in his bedroom conducting potions experiments in addition to cooking for Sally. Snape always had the ability to experiment anywhere he wanted. Sally couldn't leave Spider's Tail Alley, which was only 19 buildings and less than 30 households. Sally quickly got into the mix. But she was thinking about her brother, Harry. She had written to him a few times, and it was their birthday in a week, and Sally had bought a gift with an owl to give to Harry, but Schiller never returned, and if he didn't come back today, it wouldn't be in time for Harry's birthday.

Mrs. McCard is a young lady who is over a hundred years old but still in good health, she lives alone in Building 17 Spider Tail Lane, and Sally doesn't like her very much, because she treats rats as pets, and she has a dozen rats in her house, which Sally can see. It's not that her cooking is not unpalatable, but it's so greasy that she likes to put a lot of oil or sugar, and Sally has always wondered how Mrs. McCard, who eats such greasy food, keeps her lean figure.

However, she is a very lonely old man, so sometimes when Sally comes across her shopping, she will stop by and help her carry the basket. After a not very satisfying lunch at her house at noon, Sally returned home with a purple cowhide book. There were many things in the vellum, and most of them were extremely real and useful, and Sally completed her homework in only one afternoon, and on a rare occasion four fingers longer than the prescribed length, and in the evening when she returned the book to Mrs. Maccard, she could not resist her hospitality, and drank a small bowl of her special butter soup.

When she returned from her book, she found that Snape had rarely been in his room, but had uncharacteristically sat on the couch in front of the stove, pondering something. Seeing Sally enter the door, he said, "Pack your things, we're going out the day after tomorrow." ”

"Get out of Spidertail Alley?" Sally said in surprise, "but Dumbledore. ”

"I am your godfather. Snape looked at her and said, "Or do you want to stay in this alley for the rest of the month?"

"Of course not. Sally said. "Where are we going? Are we going on a tour?"

"If you want to understand it that way. Snape didn't deny Sally, and said. "Is there anything you'd like to visit?

"Still going abroad?" Sally was simply flattered. "Can any country do it?"

"If you don't have a goal. Snape didn't answer her stupid question, saying, "I recommend the Philippines, there. . . ”

"There were only dried mangoes. Sally interrupted Snape. "I refused to go to that island. She thought for a moment, "Maybe we can go to Egypt, did you read the Daily Prophet today? The Weasleys are there." ”

"You're asking me to go with you to see those stupid pyramids with the Weasleys?" Snape pouted, saying mercilessly, "With all due respect, I've been to Egypt a dozen times, and I don't want to travel with the Weasleys at all." ”

Sally thought about the image, no, I should say she couldn't think of it.

"Then Thailand is fine. Sally said. "The sun, the sand, the fruits, I wanted to go for a long time. ”

Snape's expression seemed dissatisfied, but he couldn't find a reason to refuse, so he acquiesced to the suggestion

"But I can't leave tomorrow. Sally said, "One, the Harry's birthday present I ordered from the Daily Prophet hasn't arrived, and two, I haven't finished my Potions homework yet. ”

Over the next few days, Sally completed her Potions assignments on and off, not worrying that she would fail, or even if she didn't get a good grade, because most of the paper was dictated by Snape, her Potions professor.

She had already packed up her gifts for a trip to Thailand, but Harry's gift she had purchased had not arrived until the next day, Harry's birthday, and Schiller had dragged her to buy the gift late.

The seller wrote a letter to her, saying that the store was late because the fire had caused some items to be missing and they had to urgently stock them. Sally was very skeptical of the authenticity of the letter, but it was too late for Toschiller to send it in less than eight hours, and with Harry's birthday less than eight hours away.

"Professor Snape?" Sally knocked on Snape's room door, and after a sound of entry was heard inside, she pushed the door in.

"I have something to discuss with you. Sally said, she didn't know if it would work out.

"What's the matter?"

"Tomorrow before we go to the station. She looked at Snape's expression, "Can you take me to see Harry first?" ”

"You mean let me take you to your aunt's house?" Snape looked at her, "I don't think they'll welcome us. ”

"It's not about them. Sally said, "I'm going to give Harry a gift for his birthday, and it's obviously too late for Schiller to send it over today." ”

After speaking, she didn't wait for Snape's reaction, ran over and cheekily shook his arm and said coquettishly, "Okay, okay, anyway, the car is in the afternoon, let's get up early, I promise not to waste time, and to solve it quickly." ”

She shook Snape's arm, as if he wouldn't let go of him if he didn't agree. Snape looked at her coldly for a moment, then sighed. "Then I have to get up early tomorrow... ”

β€œyes, sir。 Snape agreed, and Sally immediately let go of his arm and took two steps back. "I'll go and check my luggage one last time. With that, she left Snape's room.

Snape sighed, his gaze returning to his book. Not far from the book was a message cut from a newspaper with a blackened headline: The Ministry of Magic has admitted that Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban, and that the Aurors are doing everything they can to capture him.
