Chapter 470: Excerpt 4: Mythology
......
After looking at all these causes and effects, I would like to talk about mythology.
The origin of mythology comes from the exploration and interpretation of the unknown by the ancients.
Seeing the swiftness and sharpness of thunder and lightning, accompanied by the sound that pierced the sky, the ancients naturally regarded it as a god. When the forests and grasslands were blazing with fires that could not be stopped and devoured everything, what would the people of that time think? How could people not despair when the heavy rain continued for dozens of days and nights, and the monstrous floods rolled in?
To say that the ancients were most touched by the unchanging sun and moon, and the eternally twinkling stars.
All this was incomprehensible to people at that time, and they had to have infinite reverie, so a steady stream of imaginary stories around these mysterious things were born, which is myths and legends.
In all kinds of myths and legends, or mythological epics, if we are careful enough, we can find many interesting things.
In the Hindu mythological epic "Mahabharata", there is the following description: The five princes of the kingdom of Pandu: Jianzhan, Terrorist, Arjuna, Wuzhong, and Harmonic, because of some well-known bloody incidents, plus the conspirators who led all this behind the scenes, the boundless black sky interfered with it, and the people at that time could be said to be living in dire straits, and the whole world was like an endless hell.
Faced with this situation, the gods of the heavens could not stand it anymore, and they all took a stand and threw themselves into the war. As a result, the bad situation was not reversed at all, but was even more chaotic because of the addition of these gods. At the last moment, Shiva, the god of destruction and creation, showed his hand, and the whole world was suddenly purified and returned to its proper order.
So let's take a look at how this paragraph is described in the book, and there are discrepancies in the specific text, so let's take a look:
Shiva frowned slightly, slowly opened his third eye, and a little light suddenly burst out, like millions of suns. In an instant, gale blew, clouds and mist churned, and the sun seemed to shake violently in the air...... As the light dimmed, the sky threw a great deal of dust and sand and stones, and the earth burned and trembled. The elephants were scorched by the heat and died one after another, while the other animals were on fire and fled in all directions, screaming and screaming.
Flames rolled, forests blazed, and trees fell in rows. Dense tongues of fire continued to fall from all directions like torrential rain, chariot flags were burned like charred tree trunks, people were reduced to ashes in despair, and those who survived jumped into the water......
Is the third eye something for you?
What do you think of when you see such a description?
Where is this Shiva's power at a glance? It is clearly the scene of a nuclear weapon explosion!
Let's look at the description in another epic mythology:
Flying swiftly on his 'Vimana', the Gurkha dropped a projectile filled with the full power of the universe at the three cities of the Virishni and Andalkor tribes. A wisp of white smoke rose from the ground, shining as brightly as ten thousand suns. This secret weapon, known as the Iron Thunderbolt, reduced all enemies to ashes, burned corpses beyond recognition, hair and nails fell off, and food was poisoned. Warriors jumped into the stream to wash themselves and their equipment.
This description is even more interesting, with all hair and nails falling out, and food being poisoned, a phenomenon that can only occur when exposed to nuclear radiation. And the fighters jumped into the stream one after another, and they also knew how to wash off their equipment, indicating that people at that time still had a sense of nuclear defense.
Although it is not excluded that modern people may make up the truth, considering that the religious myths of other people should be fully respected, although the above description is exaggerated and incredible, it still has a certain reference value.
May I ask if this is a reminiscence of a certain high-tech civilization from earlier times? Who dares to guarantee that only one civilization system was born on the earth? Is it necessary for a civilization to be destroyed in a nuclear war in the future? Hasn't it happened in ancient times?
......
Let's take a look at the myths of the East Asian Chinese character cultural circle.
Japanese mythology adheres to ancient Chinese myths and legends, and it also starts with the matriarchal clan, and the deeds of a certain goddess who conceived and gave birth to heroes abound. This fully illustrates the biggest characteristic of matrilineal clans, the marginalization of paternality, and people only know their mothers but not their fathers.
However, there is a very surprising property of Japanese mythology, which is that it is real. The vast majority of modern Japanese people still take the myths and legends of their ancestors seriously, the so-called one god above, and eight million gods spread all over the world. They firmly believe that these great gods are real, and that the only Shinto religion in the world and the shrine priests scattered throughout the land are more than just pretentious.
Compared with Japan, Chinese myths and legends are much more rational. In addition to explaining some religious meanings and natural phenomena, it is more of an educational responsibility.
Ancient Chinese can often understand some truths about how to behave in the world from those myths and legends. For example, evil does not prevail over good, punishes evil and promotes good, is not afraid of hardships and dangers, perseverance and so on.
There are many such myths and legends, such as Houyi shooting the sun, Nuwa mending the sky, Xingtian Zhantian, Jingwei reclamation and so on.
To be honest, it doesn't make much sense for me to study these kinds of myths, but I still found a few interesting pieces of information from thousands of myths.
There is such a mythical story: Nuwa created man. If this logic is followed, then Nuwa is undoubtedly the ancestor of China, which is also in line with the social characteristics of the matrilineal clan at that time. But what is interesting is that although the ancestor of the Chinese race is considered to be Nuwa, the ancestor of this world is someone else, his name is Kuafu.
Today's Chinese know that Kuafu chased the sun, and after his failure, he died and fell, and all parts of his body turned into today's flower world.
Note that this is not the beginning of the cognition of the race, but the concept of the creator God. Unlike the various creation gods arranged by the world's religions in order to justify themselves, as the most pragmatic people in ancient times, Huaxia has several logical and well-designed philosophical systems to explain where the world came from. For example, Lotu, Zhouyi, Dao and so on.
It is a strange thing that the only creator god of the world appears in mythology. The role of Kuafu is very abrupt, a bit out of the mythological system of ancient China. Because all the myths and legends after that, whether it is characters, events, or backgrounds, have nothing to do with Kuafu.
At first I was confused by this, but then I found out a little bit about this myth and legend, well, finally understood something. Kwafu was a giant, so huge that his corpse could transform into an entire world.
If not, then I suggest you read the details of the Mayan prophecy in this book!
Then I dare to pack the ticket, the mythological system of ancient China after this is completely a reproduction of the cultivation civilization of the Second Solar Age in the Mayan prophecy. Otherwise, there is no way to explain why almost everything has been thought of in myths and legends around the world, except for the interpretation of the Xiuzhen system, except for ancient China!
You can think I'm talking nonsense, but based on the Mayan prophecy or the premise that there are still a lot of things right, please let your brains be more open!
