Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Goblin in the Forest (Part II)

Red Brownfur is a bear goblin. As a goblin-like creature, having a name and a surname is a testament to its extraordinary experience.

In his early years, Red Brown lived in a circus touring the world. It's in the circus, eh...... How to say it, let's think of it as an "actor", an "actor" like those tigers, lions, and bears.

The name of the circus is 'Wine Boiled Pear', and to be honest, it's not a good name for the people, it's a bit tongue-twisting, and it's not loud. But it can't be helped, who makes the circus owner like to eat this.

Red Brown Fur is not known for his memory, and the more than ten years in the circus have made him forget his previous life. He only remembered that there were many mountains, trees, and many rocks in the place where he had lived, and that it was not the only bear goblin there, but there were many, and there were too many to count on two hands and toes.

Of course, the shorter goblin cousins are more numerous, and the number of them dazzles it. When they are short of food, they also eat their short cousins, and the goblins who are drawn can only "voluntarily" jump into the soup pot and take a hot bath. But truth be told, those goblin cousins don't taste good, nowhere near as good as lizards.

Red Browncoat likes to eat lizards, especially the ones that change color.

Then one day, when Red was looking for food, he accidentally fell into a trap, he starved in the trap for two days, and on the third day, several humans came from the trap, and one of them threw a piece of jerky into the trap, and after Red ate the jerky, he was dazed and didn't know anything. When he woke up again, he was in this circus called 'Wine Boiled Pears'.

In the circus, Red Brownfur learns to dance with bears with whips and sticks, drill into rings of fire with tigers, fight with wooden sticks with orcs, and speak the lingua franca. Because if he didn't speak the lingua franca, Red wouldn't have anything to eat, and he would have to be whipped.

The name Rhett Brown was given to him by the owner of the circus, 'Red' was the name of a dog that had been raised by the previous owner, and 'Brown Fur' because of the brown hair all over his body.

In fact, the vast majority of bear goblins have brown hair, so 'Brown Fur' is still a big surname.

The boss would pay Red twenty copper coins a month, and it didn't know if it was more or less, but it had never seen it before. Because every time the salary is paid, the boss will calculate with Rhett the cost of food, accommodation, and tuition during this period, and so on.

After each calculation, Rhett will find that after deducting his salary, he still owes the boss a lot of money. And no matter how hard it worked, it would owe more and more money, so much so that Red was a little scared of the day when his monthly paycheck would come.

Among the many fees, the tuition fee is not the cost of learning the lingua franca, but the tuition fee of dancing with the bear. Because it was so stupid, it hadn't even learned how to do ballroom dancing when the she-bear, who was called 'Angel'.

So every time Rhett performs, he needs the she-bear to dance with him, and more than once he stepped on the thick paws of 'Angel' while dancing, but the she-bear didn't bite him because of it. The she-bear was very nice to her, and of course, it could also be because the she-bear had an iron hood over her mouth.

Because of this, Rhett and the she-bear called 'Angel' still have an indescribable relationship. It's nothing, they all have a 'bear' in their race anyway.

Originally, Red thought that his life would go on like this - doing work, acting, and occasionally secretly dating Angel. Although the arrears are getting more and more, the boss will not urge him to pay back, so Red is quite satisfied with this life.

But that orc broke it all. Red had always been afraid of that orc, although as a bear goblin, it was also born tall and big, and its physique was not much worse than that of an orc, but it couldn't even look at that guy directly.

Although the orc also dressed as a clown like Red and did some funny things, he fought with Red with a stick more like a fight than a show, so much so that Red would often be bruised by the orcs in the audience's laughter. And the orc's eyes were full of indifference, which made Red feel cold.

Everyone knew that the orc was dangerous, so once the show was over, the boss's human bodyguards would shackle the orc and put him in a cage.

No one would have thought that the orc would be able to open the shackles and shackles on his own and then escape from the steel cage, which is unlikely. But sometimes, the more unlikely things seem, the more likely they are to happen.

By the time the escaped orc was discovered, he had killed three human bodyguards with a spiked candelabra and released many of the caged beasts, including Red. Flames, smoke, screaming humans and beasts, the whole circus was in chaos.

Red didn't really want to run, but Angel did, and she wanted to chase after it, but she lost it in a panic.

Leaving the circus, Red is left to fend for himself. However, food is not always found in the wild, so it sometimes takes advantage of the darkness to steal from human villages. Grab a few chickens, steal a sheep, or take away the hot apple pie that is placed under the window.

But Rhett's size makes it too much of a proper thief, and even under the cover of the night, it is often spotted and chased around by humans. Sometimes Red will reflexively fight those humans when he is chased, and the blessing of the Circus experience, Red will use wooden sticks, and he will do it well, so sometimes it will also beat the pursuers around.

Red can defeat the villagers in those villages, but against human adventurers, his skills are a little lacking. What's more, it has always fought alone, while those human adventurers mostly work together.

What if you can't beat and run away? Red can only throw away the stick and kneel on the ground to sign surrender, a move that has been used countless times in circus performances, so it is very skillful when doing it, as skillful as a cloud.

In a fluent lingua franca, Red prayed to the adventurers to spare his life, and offered to be their slaves, as long as they took care of their food. And the adventurers spared its life as it wished.

It's not surprising that a bear goblin who can speak a lingua franca, can communicate, and can kneel on the ground and beg for mercy is really a rare commodity, and it would be too wasteful to kill it directly.

Red had hoped that he would be sold to the circus again, where he knew the work and was at least more skilled than the thieves, but the adventurers didn't.

They trained it and added it to the team of adventurers called Hunthorn. Rhett loves their team's name, at least better than 'wine pears'.

In the team, Red is responsible for defending and tackling the problem. It is armed with a heavy mace and a fan-shaped shield that covers half of its body. The captain let it move forward, it moved forward, the captain asked it to move back, it retreated, Rhett doesn't have many advantages, but obedience can definitely count as one. It was not the same as the orc, and the life of the circus had taught it to obey.

Red has been with the Hunthorn team of adventurers for another five or six years, and his fighting skills have become more and more sophisticated, but he has also added a lot of scars to his body.

Truth be told, Red doesn't like being an adventurer, not at all. The job is so dangerous, many of the old faces in the team have passed away, and then there are new ones, and even the captain has changed once.

If he could, he would still like to go back to the 'wine pear', eat well, dress warmly, and although he can't get paid, at least he can live a relatively stable life.

Although the adventurer did make a lot of gold coins, it didn't have much to spend it on. Red wasn't human, he was just a tall, ugly bear goblin who couldn't go anywhere without his fellow adventurers.

......

At this time, Red Brownfur was sitting under the oak tree, nibbling on a roast rabbit that had been eaten two days ago, while reminiscing about the old days. There were many goblin cousins around, and they looked at Red with a blank eye, and every time Red threw out the flesh-eaten bones, there was a scramble and a fight.

"[Goblin Language] Human, human!" Rhett's casual breakfast was interrupted by a distant scream, and a goblin cousin ran towards it in a panic, shouting, "Human, here, human, kill the goblins!"

Why did those militiamen come at this time, Red was a little puzzled. In previous years, the humans would usually come when the corn was about to ripen, to prevent the goblins from looting.

"How many humans?" asked Rhett subconsciously.

"One!" replied the goblin cousin who ran back, "Killed a lot of goblins." It snapped its fingers and laboriously counted, "Kill three, no, five, no, four goblins!"

Heh, even a human would dare to come here to spread wild?, Red sneered inwardly. On his side were more than fifty goblins plus a skilled bear goblin, and there was only one person on the other side.

So, Red decides to teach this bold human a good lesson and tells him that goblins are not easy to bully either!

......
