The students began to enter the auditorium one by one. Once everyone was seated in the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall told the Warrior and their dance partners to line up in twos and follow her inside. They rushed in and walked towards a large round table at the front of the auditorium where the referees were seated, and the people in the auditorium applauded enthusiastically.
By this time, the hall had been renovated, and the walls around it were covered with glittering silver frost, and hundreds of mistletoe sprigs and wreaths of ivy hung in the middle. The ceiling was a starry night sky, and the hard drive-like full moon glowed with light.
The four college tables were gone, replaced by a hundred small tables lit with lanterns, each with a dozen or so students seated.
Fleur and Field were at the front, and from time to time someone waved at them, and Field knew that they were all greeting him, because the boys at Hogwarts usually couldn't open their legs when they saw Fleur, and few could greet her so calmly, and the girls obviously didn't like her very much.
Field smiled brightly at everyone who waved at him, while Fleur beside him tilted her chin slightly, not looking at the people below.
The warriors came to the front of the guest of honor, and Dumbledore smiled happily.
And Karkaroff saw Krum and Hermione walking together, but there was a satisfied expression on his face.
Mr. Ludo Bagman was wearing a bright purple robe tonight with a large yellow star on it, which was a good dress on a normal basis, but it immediately looked a little superior compared to the 'Falling Star Flare' of Cedric standing across from him.
However, his bearing seemed to be good, and after seeing Cedric's dress, he applauded enthusiastically like his classmates, and whispered a joke to Seid that the two had collided.
Beside Mr. Bagman, Madame Maxim to-night stripped off her usual black satin uniform and wore a lilac flowing robe.
Mr. Barty Crouch was dressed in his usual Wizard robes, and there was another person standing behind him, who was Ron's brother, Percy Weasley.
All the warriors and their dance partners walked up to the table, where they will be the guest of honor tonight.
"Dumbledore-" Mr. Crouch, who had been silent, suddenly said to Dumbledore, "Weatherby will be present on my behalf for the next ball, I want to walk around the castle and then go back, you know I've been exhausted lately from dealing with the aftermath of the World Cup, and I need to rest for a while." β
"Barty, why don't you have a drink before you leave?" Dumbledore exchanged pleasantries with Mr. Crouch and saw Crouch off himself.
"Hello, Percy!" Field greeted Percy, who was whispering to Harry across from him. Percy wore a new navy blue gown with a smug and pretentious look on her face. Apparently unconcerned about the fact that Mr. Crouch kept calling him by the wrong name.
"Hello, Field!" Percy said with a smile, "I talked to Mr. Diggory about you at the Ministry of Magic, and he was proud of you, and of course Cedric. β
Percy and Cedric looked at each other and smiled, and Mr. Diggory liked to boast about his son, which was known to almost everyone in the Ministry of Magic.
"Well, if only my dad could understand meβ" Percy sighed in a low voice at last.
Field was stunned for a moment, then smiled and didn't speak, to be honest, Field is still very optimistic about Percy, just like Percy's grades, he is actually a very good wizard, maybe a little rigid, a little more power-hungry, but from another point of view, this is not a bad thing, otherwise he would not be able to serve as the male student president during Hogwarts.
The banquet had begun, but there were only empty plates on the table and a menu on the side.
Seeing that everyone was not moving, Field picked up the menu and looked at it carefully, then turned to his plate and said in as clear a word as possible, "Steak!"
Then a steak immediately appeared. The other people at the table suddenly realized and followed suit, ordering their favorite food on their plates.
"Oh, you're already able to order, that's great, I'm afraid you won't-" Dumbledore walked in, apparently having sent Mr. Crouch away.
Hermione and Krum were talking quietly about Durmstrong, and the two had a good conversation, and Krum changed his usual rigid expression, and the two talked happily.
On the other side, two people stared at them, and Harry stared at Hermione directly, looking like he wanted to say something. Karkaroff directly sneered, interrupted Krum's words, and warned him not to tell him the location of the academy, at this moment there was a chill in his eyes, and he no longer cared for Krum before.
Karkaroff's warning made the atmosphere at the table a little awkward, and Dumbledore quipped, "Igor, keep it a secret like this...... People think you don't welcome people to visit. β
Karkaroff grinned and said, "Dumbledore, we all want to protect our private domain, don't we? don't we need to guard the school hall with which we have been entrusted with it?
When Karkaroff said this, he thought of badgers, and Hufflepuff's representative animals were also good at hiding their burrows, but Karkaroff's hiding seemed to be running away from something.
Dumbledore said kindly, "There are so many secrets in Hogwarts that I don't know, Igor. For example, this morning, I took a wrong turn in the toilet and found myself in a beautifully furnished room that I had never seen before, with all sorts of delicate and luxurious potty pots. When I went back to investigate, I found that the room was gone. But I have to pay close attention. It only enters at about half past five in the morning. Or it only occurs during the first quarter moon β or it could be when the bladder of the person looking for the toilet is particularly full. β
Dumbledore winked at Harry cryptically.
Field's spirits suddenly froze, he knew that Dumbledore was talking about the Room of Requirement, he had used it in his first year, but did Dumbledore mean anything when he said it now?
Shaking his head and continuing to eat his steak, Field couldn't guess what Dumbledore was thinking.
Fleur stopped after a few bites, she looked at the starlit walls around the Great Hall, and said in a contemptuous tone, "It's nothing, at Beauxbatons Castle, our Great Hall is filled with ice sculptures at Christmas. Of course, they don't melt...... Like a giant diamond statue that sparkles in the auditorium. The food was also superb. We also have a choir of mountain fairies, and when we eat, they serenade us. We don't have any of these ugly armors on our walls, and if any mischievous ghost breaks into Beauxbatons, he's bound to be kicked out, like this. β
Fleur's eyes were fixed on the fat friar at the Hufflepuff table as she said this, which made Field frown. The Fat Friar is the friendliest ghost in the whole of Hogwarts Castle, and in the first and second years, he helped Field, who often got lost, and Fleur's words made him a little unhappy, originally he understood this beautiful girl with the blood of a beautiful baby. A beautiful girl who has always been sought after, it's nothing to be a little arrogant, and it's okay to be straightforward and quick to talk occasionally, but if you talk like this often, it will inevitably make people feel uncomfortable and can't get close.
