Chapter 65: It's Valentine's Day and Easter
Four months have passed since Justin and the nearly headless Nick were petrified, and it seems that almost everyone thinks that the attacker, whoever he is, has never washed his hands for good. Peeves finally got tired of singing his "Oh, Potter, you nasty ghost".
Kevin was also happy for Harry because his situation was not so difficult.
In March, a few mandrakes had a lively and noisy dance party in the third greenhouse, much to the delight of Professor Sprout. Because, this means that the petrified people, animals, and ghosts in the medical wing can finally be cured.
During Easter holidays, the second-graders have something new to think about. They should have chosen a third-year course, a matter that, at least in Hermione's opinion, needed to be taken seriously.
She went out of her way to find Kevin and ask him what he thought.
"Kevin, what classes are you going to take in your third year?
Kevin was stunned when he saw that Hermione wanted to go through all the lessons. Is this girl already a top student to be like this?
"Hermione, you can't take all the classes, some of them have conflicting schedules. Kevin said earnestly, "You might as well take some courses that interest you." β
After saying that, Kevin regretted it, this girl was interested in all the lessons.
"But I'm interested in all the lessons!" Hermione said.
Sure enough, Kevin thought to himself.
In the first round, Kevin was defeated.
"Then you can pick some classes that you think you are good at and study!" Kevin said again, "too many courses will distract you, and you may not be able to study them." β
Kevin felt that these words must be in vain, as if there was really nothing that Hermione couldn't learn.
"However, I feel that I am good at every class, and I have the time to do it. β
In the second round, Kevin was defeated
"There's really nothing I can do about it. Kevin said, "But I suggest that if you have a good grade in any course in the past two years, you should continue to take that course." β
She seems to be doing well in every subject!, Kevin thought to himself.
"I've been doing well in every class!" Hermione continued,
"Well, let's just that we didn't meet today. After saying that, Kevin ran away, he is also a school bully, and the male student bully is no match for the female student bully after all. Halfway through, Kevin looked back, "One last piece of advice, give up Gilderoy Lockhart's class." Then, Kevin walked away without looking back.
In the third round, Kevin was defeated.
Gryffindor, Miss Hermione Granger wins.
I'm not going to do all the classes, Kevin thought. He's got a lot more on his plate. And some of the courses aren't of interest to Kevin at all, and Kevin doesn't want to take them unless they have to. For example: Defence Against the Dark Arts and Flying lessons.
Terry and Mike are much simpler, Kevin advises them to learn what they are good at, and pick and choose the others that interest them. And they happily accepted it.
After Easter, it's time for a new round of Quidditch season.
Early that morning, everyone was again discussing the topic of Quidditch. Kevin, as usual, passed by the Gryffindor table to cheer Harry on.
After breakfast, Kevin caught up with Harry and the others, who had left the Great Hall together, and prepared to go to the Quidditch pitch together.
Suddenly, Harry shouted, then looked at them in horror, "I hear that voice again." Harry's eyes widened, "I just heard that sound again, did you hear that?"
Everyone shook their heads in unison, and Kevin's mind immediately flashed, in addition to the question "Someone was attacked again?", but also flashed from the first attack to the present, all the points, thinking about Harry's parseltongue, Kevin connected all the suspicions.
Kevin hurried to the library, and he remembered looking at the relevant statement.
Hermione's voice came from behind her, "HarryβI suddenly understood something! I'm going to the library!"
"Kevin, wait for me!" Hermione shouted,
Kevin slowed down, but didn't stop. Hermione quickly catches up and goes to the library with Kevin.
"You noticed, didn't you?Kevin?" asked Hermione as she walked, panting.
"You noticed it, Hermione!" Kevin said, Kevin's breath was smooth and steady, and no one would notice if he didn't pay attention. (Magic changes physique, I said earlier.) οΌ
Kevin was very happy to think about the book, because Hermione was a good friend in Kevin's opinion, and the two of them sometimes had surprisingly the same thoughts.
The two rushed to the door of the library, were glared at by Mrs. Pince, and quickly stopped and breathed steadily. Then, one after the other, I walked into the library and came to the bookshelf where the book was.
"I don't remember where that book is!" Kevin said, reading the book for fun, and Kevin didn't remember it very much.
"I remember, it should have been there. Hermione said, and the book Hermione was referring to automatically came out of the shelf and fell into Kevin's hand.
Kevin looked at the cover of the book, "The Encyclopedia of Snake Magical Creatures",
"This is it. β
Then the two of them immediately sat down on the table under the bookshelf and opened the book.
It is written,
The first basilisk was bred by "Hellbo the Mean", a Greek dark wizard with a Parseltongue accent. After many experiments, this person discovered that if a small hen egg is placed under the body of a toad, a dangerous snake with extraordinary abilities will hatch. The basilisk is a large snake with a dazzling green body, which can reach up to fifty feet in length. The male snake has a bright red feather on its head. Its fangs are unusually poisonous, but its most dangerous attack is to stare at its target with its large yellow eyes. Anyone whose gaze touches its gaze will be killed instantly. If the food is plentiful (the basilisk will eat all mammals, birds, and many species of reptiles), this snake will have a very long lifespan. It is believed that the basilisk of "Hellbo the Mean" lived to be almost nine hundred years old. Since the Middle Ages, the creation of basilisks has been considered illegal, but it is easy to hide as long as the eggs are removed from under the toad's body before the Magical Creatures Control Division arrives. However, basilisks are not controlled by anyone but the Parseltongue, so they are dangerous not only to others, but also to most dark wizards. In Britain, there have been no records of basilisk sightings for at least four hundred years.
Kevin and Hermione looked at each other, both of them with solemn eyes in their eyes. If it's really a basilisk, then the Hogwarts students are in danger.
"We didn't have paper with us, so we couldn't transcribe it. Hermione said,
"I can write it down, but just ......in case," Kevin said, looking around, then tore the page off the basilisk.
Hermione wanted to exclaim when she saw Kevin's behavior, but she immediately covered her mouth.
Kevin shoved the page into Hermione's hand, then put it back in its place, pulling Hermione out of the library.
