Chapter 40: The Murderous Howler Letter and Lockhart the Narcissist

Early the next morning, Kevin and his classmates went down to Ravenclaw Tower and went to the auditorium for breakfast.

Under the enchanted ceiling (today it was a cloudy gray), long tables in the four academies lay bowls of porridge, plates of pickled herring, mountains of slices of bread, and plates of eggs and bacon. Kevin, Mike, and Terry sat down together, each taking food and eating.

At this time, a chirp echoed in the auditorium, the time of the owls' delivery. Hundreds of owls swarmed in, circling the auditorium, dropping letters and parcels into the conversational crowd.

Kevin's Dasil also flew in through the skylight and landed next to Kevin to ask Kevin for food. Kevin tore a little pickled herring and fed it to her, and Darcier pecked Kevin's finger after eating it, and then flew away and went out to play. Kevin would fly Darcyr out of the castle every morning, and in the evening Darsil would fly back on his own, occasionally flying to Kevin's for food.

"Pretty raven!" came Luna's voice from the side, the girl who had obviously just arrived.

"Thank you, good morning Luna!"

"Good morning, Kevin!" said Luna, who sat down next to Kevin and ate breakfast.

While they were eating breakfast, there was another big stir in Gryffindor.

It turned out that an owl had smashed into the pot of chips in front of Harry, and the fried chips splashed the faces of the people around them.

I only heard Jon's voice "Oh! Errol!", Kevin smiled unkindly, the owl named Errol he had the honor of seeing at Weasley's house, saying that it was unreliable, and that it could deliver things every time, but every time it had an accident, either hitting the glass or falling out of the chimney. He hasn't died until now, and this owl is very lucky.

Errol put down the letter he was holding and flew away. Kevin's sharp eyes saw a red letter. Then, after a long time, Jon shuddered to open the envelope, and then a loud noise filled the auditorium, shaking the dust off the ceiling.

“.. I wouldn't be surprised if they fired you if they stole the car, and I will see how I clean you up then. You probably didn't even think about how your dad and I felt when we found out that the car was gone."

It was Mrs. Weasley's shout, a hundred times louder than usual, that shook the plates and spoons on the table, and the echoes of the stone walls on all sides were deafening, and the whole auditorium turned to look at Jon.

"Hey, someone's got a roaring letter, it's Jon Weasley from Gryffindor!" Terry gloated as he explained to a few people around him.

Shouting letters?...... Before Kevin could think about it, the howling letter continued Mrs. Weasley's yelling.

"Receiving Dumbledore's letter last night, your father was so ashamed that he almost died. We worked so hard to bring you up, but we didn't expect you to do such a thing, you and Harry almost lost their lives! It's so infuriating, your dad will be censored in the workplace, it's all your fault. If you don't follow the rules, we'll bring you back right away!"

The voice stopped, and it changed back to Mrs. Weasley's usual voice.

"Oh, my dear Ginny, I heard that you were sorted into Gryffindor, and your father and I are so proud of you!"

Kevin glanced at Ginny, who was now at a loss for what to do, and looked eager to get under the table.

Then, the letter burst into flames.

The auditorium erupted in a lively discussion about the yelling letter. Kevin saw Jon's face depressed and left the auditorium.

Kevin and the Ravenclaws sat in the classroom, and Professor Flitwick pushed the door in, first giving a speech for the new school year, and then handing out the class schedule for the semester.

The first lesson was Charms, followed by Defence Against the Dark Arts.

Kevin went back to the dorm room to get his textbooks, and then went to class with Terry and Mike. Kevin didn't listen very carefully to the Charms class, after all, Kevin was already proficient in the learning content of this semester's Charms class.

Kevin was thinking about the howling letter, which Kevin had never seen before, capable of conveying a person's voice. It was the first time he had seen such a letter.

Kevin felt that it was a waste to use this kind of envelope just to swear people, and it was a good messenger tool. If only a designated person could open the envelope, it would be an excellent wartime messenger.

Kevin pondered the possibility of such an operation, but was interrupted by Professor Flitwick.

"Mr. Albert, would you please cover up the recovery charm?"

"Okay, Professor!"

Albert came back to his senses and quickly cast a recovery spell to restore the broken goblet given by Professor Flitwick.

"Well done, Mr. Albert, although you have mastered the spell, you still need to listen carefully in class. Professor Flitwick spoke softly.

Kevin was rarely ashamed.

After class, Terry and Mike also laughed at the good student Kevin for not listening to the lecture in class. Kevin gave them a blank look and walked towards the Defence Against the Dark Arts class.

When I arrived at Lockhart's classroom, Lockhart, who was smiling brightly, was already waiting there. When he saw that the people had arrived, he began to speak.

"I," he said, pointing to his photograph and winking at his own, "Gilderoy Lockhart, third class of the Order of the Merlin, honorary member of the League Against the Dark Arts, five-time > of Wizarding WeeklyMost Charming Smile Award?? But I don't talk about that, I don't drive away Wanlun's female ghost with a smile!"

He waited for everyone to laugh, only a few of them smiled faintly, and all of them were girls.

I see you all bought my full set of books?? Very good. I thought we'd do a quiz today. Don't be afraid?? Just look at how well you read and how much you comprehend." After handing out the papers, he returned to the pulpit and said, "Give you thirty minutes." Right now?? Let's go!"; Terry, who was beside Kevin, looked at the scroll and read: 1.What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color?2.What is Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition?3.What do you think is Gilderoy Lockhart's greatest achievement to date? And so on, and so on, on three sides of paper, and the last question is: 54.What is Gilderoy Lockhart's birthday? What is his ideal birthday present?

"How do I know!" Terry shouted, and the whole class looked at him, including Lockhart.

Terry picked up the pen and began to ......... He didn't know.

He whispered to Kevin, "He's the most narcissistic wizard the wizard has ever seen!"

Kevin nodded, but didn't reply, he also had a headache with this paper, he would only have a few of the questions, and he still saw it when he was reading a book on the train.

All that was left in the classroom was the sound of writing.........
