Chapter Seventy-Three: The Wreckage
The power of terror converges at the top of the golden spear, the Valkyries themselves are members of the Protoss, they have the power of terror, and now Brunhilde has no scruples.
Magellan stood behind his horse and watched the Valkyrie's back, the dazzling golden light gathered together and fell into the void like a thunderbolt.
Still, he had time to draw a rune in the void that represented the pathway.
Brunhilde's full force landed on the abyss, and the air was compressed and twisted by the terrifying force and speed, as if some invisible barrier was about to open.
However, there is no gate here, and it is not a tangible passage that connects the divine realm with the mortal world. Magellan looked at the Valkyrie, her great power did bring about some kind of unknown change, but it was not enough to open the door.
The sound of terror echoed through the abyss, and the warhorse moved restlessly on the edge of the cliff, but the Valkyrie on its back remained motionless, like a sculpture.
"I'm an Exile......"
"No," Magellan thought that perhaps Brunhild would rush off the cliff in the next moment, "your call has been answered, but only closely. β
"What?"
The Valkyrie turned to look at Magellan, she didn't really believe in this mortal who was extremely dull to magic, but Brunhilde still had a glimmer of hope in his heart.
"Follow me. β
Magellan is indeed lying.
He didn't feel any fluctuations in power from the gods of Esyad at all, and even if he did, it was only a powerful attack from the Valkyries, and the reason why he deceived Brunhilde was because he remembered the memories he had just had in the Wild Hunting team.
It's not wrong to think of the hunt as a mere illusion, but the essence of the hunt is more than that, it's both fantasy and reality.
Magellan walked down the rugged path of the mountains towards the bottom of the hillside, and on a platform not far away, there should be a temple.
He remembered that not long ago, the Wild Hunt team destroyed a building that was blocking the road.
Just as seen in the hallucination, there was a temple in that place, but it was still well preserved and not in ruins.
"Odin's temple?" Brunhilde looked at the building in front of him, a little surprised, "I've never seen it. β
"This is the gate that Odin left for him, a special entrance to the Divine Domain. β
Although it was only a speculation, Magellan was very confident, after all, this place was too remote for the Esyadians to build a temple here, otherwise they would not be able to offer sacrifices to the gods on time, and where the gods really existed, they would invite disaster.
BrΓΌnnhilde followed Magellan into the temple, which was dark and empty, except for a rough stone pillar standing on the ground, on which Odin's deep face was carved.
"No one has ever performed a sacrifice here...... Valkyrie saw something unreasonable at first sight, even if she left the god domain for a long time, she would not forget the basic common sense, "Why hasn't this place been destroyed?"
To carve the appearance of a god without offering a sacrifice would anger the gods, and Odin was by no means a generous master, and he didn't mind destroying a mortal at all, let alone for such a legitimate reason.
"For a variety of reasons. β
Magellan searched for a long time, and finally found a gold Victoria from the bottom of his pocket, he knelt down on one knee in front of the idol of Odin, placed the gold coin on the ground, and then drew a runi script on the dirt with his finger.
"Odin, Almighty God-King, I hereby pray, with gold as a sacrifice, open the gates for me, and if following the wild hunt is not enough to prove my courage, then I will turn back as you wish. β
Valkyrie looked at the pillar expectantly, she could feel that there was an aura of Odin everywhere, that god-king loved the mortal world, and there was no doubt that this temple was left behind by him.
Then there was a dull sound outside the door, a bit like the howl of a raging wind, like a summer thunder, but not quite the same.
"May you be invincible, mighty god-king. β
Magellan stood up.
The sacrifice had been completed, the sacrifice had been accepted, and he had just watched as the coin melted, and the water flowed up the pillar unorthodox, before disappearing into Odin's beard.
Valkyrie turned and walked out of the temple, and she was surprised to find that the sky was full of brilliant auroras.
"The door has been opened?"
"Yes. β
Magellan headed towards the top of the mountain, and he was already sure that the wild hunt was a guide.
The aurora is the best proof that the gate is open.
Unsurprisingly, on the edge of the cliff, they saw a fluttering band of light, like a wild dream, and the aurora was so close that it seemed to be right at their feet, forming a bridge to the sky.
"I'll go first. β
The Valkyrie mounted her warhorse, and she disappeared at the end of the ribbon of light almost instantly.
Magellan shook his head helplessly and followed.
The feeling of stepping on the aurora is amazing, it is more like a solid stone bridge, although it looks ethereal.
Within a few steps, Magellan found himself standing high in the sky, a marvelous transcendent creature surrounded by ribbons of light that seemed to be within reach.
Then he reached the end of the band of light, and a shadow appeared before him, and Magellan was surprised to find that it was a land under the cover of night.
It is a vast plain, with great rivers and mountains in the distance, and grasslands and tall forests in the distance.
It was completely different from what Magellan saw with the wild hunt.
The Valkyrie was not here, and Magellan walked deeper into the land, his eyes adjusting to the darkness, and the first thing he saw was devastation.
The entire continent, every piece of land has not been spared, and every part of this place is in ruins.
"Ragnarok ......"
Of course, there could be no other possibility, and only in such a catastrophe would the dwelling of the gods be destroyed to such an extent.
However, the tall Golden Palace in the distance is still in good condition, although Magellan has little hope, which can be considered good news at least.
Soon Magellan saw the corpse in front of his eyes, an impossibly large beast, swooped to the ground, burned by the flames, charred and unrecognizable, and could only barely be seen to be a four-legged beast, about a wolf or a hound.
And that was just the beginning, as more corpses appeared along the road, the dead giants leaning together like randomly stacked firewood, they had indeed been burned, whether it was a blue-skinned frost giant or a red-skinned fire giant, now only black remained.
This is the battlefield of the gods, and only some of the victims remain, and more warriors have completely dissipated.
