Chapter 15: The Land of the Dead

"Stop, it's me!" Loras hurriedly put down the long sword in his hand, and Filin suddenly broke out in a cold sweat.

"Ellie isn't with you?" said Rodrith shook his head in denial.

Loras panicked, and eagerly called out her sister's name.

"Brother, I'm here at the entrance, come here!" As soon as the three of them heard that it was Ellie, they turned around and ran in the direction from which the voice came.

The entrance to the cemetery is very narrow, as if it has been forcibly split, and only two people can walk side by side.

The surrounding area was foggy and visibility was low. It wasn't until Loras got closer that she found Ellie crouched on the ground with her head in her hands, looking terrified, as if she was trying to escape something.

Fei Lin suddenly felt as if he had stepped on some soft object under his feet, and when he looked down, he almost didn't frighten him.

The body of an adult man lay on the grass, his flesh rotting and the smell of nausea.

"What the hell is going on?" said Loras, with a solemn expression, as she lifted Ellie to her feet and looked in the direction of the valley, where the mist was emitting from the graveyard.

"What the hell is the graveyard!" said Rodris, recalling the terrified face on Bard's face as he watched them leave, and realized that he had jumped into a large pit.

"Now we have to go in and find out, our mission is to find the mayor's daughter, and Ruth is likely trapped inside. Fei Lin suppressed the fear in his heart, tied his bags tightly, and turned back to the three of them.

"To be on the safe side, let me first detect the magic fluctuations around me. As he spoke, Rodrith took out the purple magic crystal from his pocket, closed his eyes and silently recited the incantation, and the magic crystal slowly rose into the air, emitting a soft light.

"It looks like there's no enemy nearby. Rodlis couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, perhaps because he had thought too much.

The three of them, led by Loras, slowly passed through the narrow crack, and in front of them was an empty valley, but the fog was a little thicker than outside.

"Follow me, and don't be left behind. Loras hunched over and cautiously walked deeper.

Fei Lin also held the shadow blade in his hand, but the atmosphere in the tomb was really wrong, and he couldn't help but shed a cold sweat.

"Click~!" Loras seemed to have stepped on something, and when he looked down, it turned out to be a white skull!

"Isn't this the place to bury the fallen soldiers, did the dead man's skull escape on its own?" Rodrith shuddered, and quickly stepped forward to kick it away, only to see the skull roll on the ground a few times, and then it stopped moving.

At the same time, a sudden chill hit, and Ellie clearly felt that the temperature around her had dropped a lot.

"Shh~" Loras plunged his sword into the wet dirt, motioning for the three to hold their breath, while he closed his eyes and sensed the sounds around him.

There was no sign of any living creature in the cemetery, only a bare dirt slope, and Ellie felt her breathing begin to grow rapid due to the heavy moisture.

"No! get down!" Loras snapped open his eyes, pulled out his sword from the ground, and exclaimed.

The three of them immediately fell to the ground, and Fei Lin felt something flying quickly above his head, and when he looked at it, it turned out to be a bow and arrow!

The long sword in Loras's hand kept waving, knocking down the bow and arrows one by one, and he took advantage of the gap between the other party's winding and drawing the bow, and rushed towards the direction where the bow and arrow came from.

Obscured by the white fog, Loras could not see who fired the bow and arrow, and could only judge the approximate location of the enemy by feeling.

Realizing that danger was looming, Loras stopped and swung his sword in a fighting stance.

The three of them followed at this time, and Ellie quickly wound her bow and arrows, waiting for the enemy to appear.

A long sword suddenly appeared behind Rodlis, and Fei Lin hurriedly blocked it with a shadow blade, but because the opponent's strength was too great, he was immediately repelled several steps, and the dagger also fell to the ground.

"Hell!" said Rodrith, who suddenly howled. Loras hurriedly turned around and rushed to the location of the three of them, but was shocked by the strange sight in front of him.

A skeleton wields a tattered sword, and two hollow holes burn with green ghostly fire. Standing in front of Filin, to be exact, Rodrith seemed to be stunned, just watching him slowly approach.

Ellie didn't have time to be surprised, and hurriedly took the bow and arrow out of her hand, hitting the head of the skeleton, the green flame in the eyes of the undead swordsman was instantly extinguished, and the miserable white skeleton suddenly lost its support, scattered all over the ground, and turned into powder.

"It's dangerous, let's get out of this hellish place quickly. Seeing that the undead swordsman had finally stopped moving, Rodlis let out a long sigh of relief.

Seeing the skeleton fall, Loras finally came to her senses and ran to Ellie's side to protect her.

"It's so foggy here that you can't see your surroundings clearly. Loras didn't dare to act on his own, the previous archers were still hiding in the shadows, and he couldn't be sure if there were more undead warriors like this nearby.

"You can only act when the fog clears. The four of them stood in place and waited, and the time passed minute by minute.

I don't know how long it took, but a cold wind blew on the ground, which made people's hairs stand on end. The fog finally began to lift, but now they looked desperate.

Instead of seeing Ruth, they were horrified to find that more than a dozen undead warriors were clumsily walking towards them, because the fog had dissipated and could not conceal the breath of life.

"There are too many people on the other side, we have to find a place to hide first!" Loras shot down the stray arrows flying in the air as he motioned for the three of them to retreat.

Rodrith was unequivocal, gathering flames in his hands and throwing them at an undead archer behind him, only to hear a muffled sound and the skeleton fall to the ground.

Rodrith's fireball technique was already able to be released very skillfully at this time, and his magic power had also been slightly improved in these dangers.

The four of them fought and retreated, and Loras's movements gradually slowed down, apparently due to the excessive physical exertion of his body.

A sharp arrow grazed Loras's face, making a cut in an instant, and blood slowly oozed out.

"There's a cave here, hide in it!" Flynn shouted at Loras as he stabbed the skull of an undead swordsman with his dagger.

The entrance to the cave was covered in cobwebs, and Rodrith hurriedly threw a fireball that quickly burned it to ashes.

All four of them had run into the cave by this time, gasping for breath in the darkness, and the outside world seemed to be calm again.

Just when Fei Lin and his party thought that they were out of danger and were about to leave the cave, an even more terrifying scene appeared.

"W-what is this......" Loras's voice trembled unconcealably, and his normally calm face was now pale and terrifying.

However, they didn't notice that in the bottomless darkness of the cave, a pair of blood-red eyes were already staring at them.
