Chapter 204: Breakthrough (I)

The two brothers looked at him, and their minds were conjured of the massacre of the Quesus and the fall of Willow.

"We can't be captured alive. Rodrith whispered.

River Breeze took a deep breath. "We'll try to hold on. His voice trembled slightly. "But if we can't—" He put his hand on the knife at his waist, but couldn't say what he would do.

"Don't bother. Rodrith said hoarsely. "I have herbs, just mix a glass of wine, it's quick and painless. ”

"Are you sure?" asked River Breeze.

"Trust me. Rodrith replied. "Herbs are what I do best. He replied without hesitation, noticing that the plainman's body was trembling slightly.

"If only I were alive. "I'll give her, or this poison to them."

If you can't-"

"I understand. You have to trust me. The mage replied.

"What about Lorana?" asked Calamon, "you know the personality of the elves. She won't-"

"Leave it to me. Rodlis repeated softly.

The plainman looked at the mage and felt a creep. Rodrith stood calmly in front of them, his hands folded in his sleeves, his hood covering most of his face.

River Breeze looked at his dagger and considered something else. No, I can't, at least not this way.

"Good. He said, swallowing his saliva. He stopped, afraid that he would have to walk down the stairs to face the others, but the sound of killing in the street grew clearer.

River Wind turned abruptly and walked down the stairs, leaving the two brothers upstairs.

"I'll fight to the death!" Calamon said to Rodrith in a tone of course.

But after barely saying a few words, he couldn't control his voice. "Promise me, little brother, if I ...... You're going to take this poison yourself......"

"No, you don't. Rodlis replied briefly, "I don't have enough stamina to survive such a big fight." I'll die first from my spells running out of energy. ”

Robert and Gilcenas struggled to break out of the crowd, the stronger half-elves, pushing, squeezing, pulling, and pulling to get rid of the irrational mob.

Time and time again, they looked for cover in order to avoid the dragon's attacks.

Gilthenas went limp on his knees, and Robert was forced to help him under the stairs, and the elf collapsed limply on top of Robert.

When the half-elf saw the Red Dragon Inn, he couldn't help but praise the great gods, but soon his praise turned into a curse.

The front of the inn was almost completely surrounded by black reptiles.

He pulled the weak, blindly following Gircenas and stumbled under one roof.

"Gilsenas!" roberted him, "the inn! it's surrounded!"

Gilsenas looked up and looked blankly ahead. Suddenly, he understood.

"Lorana!" he exclaimed, and struggled out into the street. "I've got to find them—he's fallen in Robert's arms.

"Stay here. The half-elf helped him sit down and said, "You can't move around yet, I'll try to slip through." I went through the back door to take a look. ”

Robert ran forward, along the street for hiding, and had barely crossed a street corner when he heard a hoarse roar, and he saw Hubble gesturing frantically. Robert rushed at them.

"How?" he asked, "why aren't you with the others—halfway through the half-elf's words, "Oh, that's bad!" he whispered.

The dwarf, with his face covered in dust and tears, knelt beside the Kander.

The Kanders were crushed by a large pillar that fell on the street. Wade looked like a smart kid with a dusty face and a pale face.

"Damn, this headless Kander. Hubble cried, "I just like to let the house touch my head." The dwarf's hands were covered in scars and blood as he tried to remove the pillar, which required three strong men to remove, from the cooker.

Robert put his hand on Wade's neck, his pulse faint.

"Stay here and watch him!" Robert felt like he was talking nonsense. "I'm going to the hotel, I'm bringing Calamon here!"

Hubble looked at him with a solemn look on his face, and turned his gaze to the inn. Both of them heard the killing outside the inn, and both saw the reflection of their weapons in the firelight.

Occasionally, there would be a strange flash of light in the inn, which was the magic of Rodlis.

The dwarf shook his head, he knew that Robert would have to fly to bring Calamon safely.

But Hubble still managed to squeeze out a smile: "Of course, little one, I'll watch him." Goodbye, Robert. ”

Robert swallowed, tried to answer, but finally gave up and ran down the street.

Rhodrius coughed incessantly, almost unable to stand, he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and pulled out a black leather pouch from the innermost pocket of his robe.

He only had one last spell left, and his mana would probably be used up along with it. Now his hands were shaking with weariness, and he tried to pour the herbs from his skin into a bottle of wine.

This bottle of wine was the one he had instructed Calamon to bring before the battle began. His hands shook violently, and a cough knocked him down.

He felt a hand grasp his own. Looking up, she saw Lorana, who took the leather from his thin hand. Her own hands were covered in the blood of black-green dragonmen.

"What is this?" she asked.

"The herbs needed to cast the spell. The mage coughed. "Pour it into a bottle. ”

Lolana poured the herb into the wine as instructed, and it quickly dissolved into the wine.

"Don't drink yet. The mage swallowed his cough and said.

Lorana looked at him. "What is this?"

"Sleeping pills. Rodrith's eyes twinkled.

Lolana smiled puzzled. "You don't think we'll be able to sleep tonight, do you?"

"Not that kind of sleeping pill," replied Rodrith as he looked at her steadily. "This sleeping pill can put you in a state of death.

Heartbeat, breathing almost completely stopped. The skin becomes pale and cold, and the body becomes stiff. ”

Lorana's eyes widened. "Why—" she said.

"Be the last line of defense. If you're lucky, the enemies will think you're dead and leave you on the battlefield. But if you're unlucky—"

"What if ——?," she asked, pale.

"Well, I heard that several people have woken up in their own graves. Rodrith said calmly. "But I don't think we have that opportunity. ”

His breathing was much smoother, and he sat down, ducking his head to dodge an arrow that flew over his head, and landed on the floor.

He noticed that Lorana's hands were shaking, and he realized that she was not as strong as she seemed.

"Do you want us all to drink this bottle?" she asked.

"This will allow us to escape the abuse of the dragons. ”

"How do you know?"

"Trust me!" the mage smiled weakly.

Lorana looked at him and shuddered. She absentmindedly wiped her bloodstained fingers from her armor.

The blood didn't go away at all, but she didn't notice it. An arrow shot past her, but she didn't even move her eyes, just stared at it blankly.

Calamon stumbled out of the smoke-filled hall. The arrow wound on his shoulder was bleeding, and the red blood was a wonderful contrast to the green blood of the enemy.

"They're almost breaking through the front door!" he said breathlessly. "The river breeze has ordered us to retreat here. ”

"Listen!" Rodelis warned, "and they didn't just rush in through the front door!" The door to the kitchen in the back alley cracked.

Calamon and Lolana immediately turned around and prepared to fight. A tall figure appeared.

"Robert!" Lolana gathered her weapon and galloped towards him.

"Lorana!" he gasped. He hugged her tightly in his arms, and his mood relaxed, and he almost couldn't hold back his tears.

Calamon followed, hugging both of them warmly.

"Everyone's alright?" said Robert, with a hard breath.

"So far so good. Calamon peered behind Robert. When he saw Robert alone, his face sank. "Others—"

"Stone is gone. Robert said worriedly. "Hubble and Wade are across the street. The Kander were crushed under a pillar.

Gilcenas is about two blocks away. He's hurt. Robert told Lorana. "It's not serious, but there's no way he can get this way. “

"Welcome, Robert. Rodris said coughing. "You're just in time to meet the Grim Reaper with us. ”

Robert saw the bottle of black liquid in front of him, and also saw the black leather bag next to him, and looked at Rodrith in shock.

"No, I can't. He said firmly. "We're not going to die, at least not like—" He interrupted himself. "Gather everybody here. ”

Calamon opened his throat and shouted as he ran. River Breeze had been picking up the enemy's arrows in the hall and shooting them back, as he had run out of his own arrows a long time ago.

Now he is running back with him. The others followed him, and when they saw Robert, everyone had a hopeful smile on their faces.

Their faith puts the half-elves under immense pressure. One day, I'm going to let them down. Maybe I've let them down. He shook his head angrily.

"Listen!" he shouted, trying to drown out the cacophony of the dragonmen outside.

"We can try to get out the back door! There are only a handful of enemies attacking here.

Now the main forces have not yet entered the city. “

"Someone is chasing us," Rodrith muttered.

Rob nodded. "It looks like it is. We're running out of time. If only we could escape into the mountains—"

He suddenly looked up, forgetting what he had just said.

Everyone closed their mouths and listened carefully, and they recognized the shrill cry, the sound of the wings tearing through the air, and they all got closer and closer.

"Get cover!" shouted River Breeze. But it was too late.

There was a screech and a muffled sound outside. The three-story boulder, wooden hotel began to shake like a sandcastle on the beach.

Dust and rubble splattered, and flames surrounded the entire house. They could hear the sound of wood breaking and falling from upstairs.

This building looks like it's going to be untenable.

Everyone opened their eyes in amazement as the huge roof slammed into the rooftop floor that was beginning to dent.

"Get out of here!" roberted exclaimed. "This whole place is coming-"

The roof beams directly above the half-elf made a loud cracking sound and began to crack slowly.

Robert grabbed Lorana and pushed her in the other direction with all his might.

He finally happened to see Ilistan standing in the doorway reaching out to her.

The roof beam above Robert's head snapped open, and he heard the mage say something at a shrill voice. Then, he felt himself start to fall, as if the whole world had fallen on him.

Stone hid around the corner and saw the Red Dragon Inn collapse in flames and smoke, while the Red Dragon on top was hovering triumphantly.

The knight's heart beat violently, full of fear and sorrow.

Riding Tu hid in the arcade, just in time to flash a group of dragonmen who were talking and laughing in rude, cold language. Apparently they thought the work was over and were about to have some fun.

The three dragonmen, dressed in blue or red uniforms, seemed to be very unhappy with the destruction of the inn, shaking their fists at the red dragon on their heads.

Stone felt almost surrounded by despair. He leaned feebly against the gate and stared blankly at the dragonmen to see what they were going to do next.

Will they still be under the rubble? Maybe they've escaped. Then, when the boulder of his heart finally let go, he saw a white reflection.

"Elistan!" he watched as the priest emerged from the rubble, dragging another man in tow. The dragons drew their swords and ran to the priests, threatening them to surrender in Mandarin.

Stone shouted the battle cry of the Solanian knight and ran out of the hallway. The dragonman turned around and seemed hesitant to see the appearance of the rider.

Stone saw someone rush out with him out of the corner of his eye. He caught a glimpse of the reflection on his helmet and heard the dwarf's roar. Then he heard the sound of mantras chanting from another hallway.

Although Gilcenas could not stand up, he climbed out of the arcade and pointed at the dragonman.

Flaming darts shot straight out of his hands, and one of the dragonmen was shot in the chest, falling to the ground on fire.

Hubble jumped up and knocked down another one with the stone in his hand. Stone knocked the remaining dragonman unconscious with his fist.

Then he immediately grabbed Elistan, who was stumbling and dragging a woman.

"Lorana!" shouted Gilsenas in the hallway.

Groggy from the smoke, the elven woman raised her dull eyes. "Girsenas?" she murmured, and she looked up at the knight.

"Stone—" she said unconsciously, pointing feebly behind her back. "Your sword, I see it here, over there—"

Stone could clearly see his sword crushed under the rubble, and next to it was the Excalibur of Kes, Kanan, as if it had just been dug out of the rubble.

Stone kept moving the stones out of the way, trying to clear the rubble and dig the two weapons out.

The knight also kept an eye out for cries of pain and cries from below, but there was only silence.
