Chapter 243: Deliberation (I)

A young Solanian knight,. Reading at zero o'clock

As soon as he saw the stranger approaching, his expression changed dramatically.

"Don't be nervous. Chekov reassured the knight, "These are the two men mentioned in Sir Swart's reply—"

As he spoke, Chekov led them to the middle table. As soon as he saw the secret treasure of the dragon god, the dwarf's eyes lit up.

"A dragon god's secret treasure!" he muttered happily, "after all these years—"

"What all those years?" Evan asked suddenly, stopping some distance in front of his desk.

"You know!" Chekov explained, "every dwarf is born with a lifelong will, and will make it a goal for the rest of his life.

And my wish is to study this secret treasure of the dragon god—"

"But the Dragon God's secret treasure has been gone for hundreds of years!" Wade said in disbelief. "No one knew there was such a thing! How did it become your lifelong wish?"

"Oh, we know. Chekov replied. "Because it was my grandfather's lifelong wish, and it was my father's.

Neither of them had the opportunity to see the Dragon God's secret treasure before they died.

Originally, I was worried that I would fall into the same fate, but the secret treasure of the dragon god has finally appeared, and I can finally let my family rest in peace after death-"

"You're saying that if you don't fulfill this lifelong wish, you'll die———— you won't be able to rest in peace?" Wade asked.

"But your father and grandfather—"

"Maybe so," Chekov said sadly, "wherever they are - oh my!"

The Dragon God's Secret Treasure has undergone a noticeable change.

It began to glow in many different colors, as if it was starting to be frightened.

Evan chanted a strange incantation as he stepped forward and put his hand on it. The Dragon God's Secret Treasure immediately turned black.

Evan glanced back at the people in the room, and his expression was so solemn that even Wade couldn't help but take a step back.

The knight immediately lunged forward.

"Get out of here!" said the mage in a deafening voice. "Everybody leave me!"

"My mission is not to leave here, I'm not going to-" The knight reached out and drew his sword.

Evan muttered a few words, and the knight immediately collapsed to the ground.

The gnomes quickly left the room, leaving Chekov standing dumbfounded, his hands constantly turning and his face pained.

"Hurry up, Chekov!" Wade urged.

"I've never seen him like this. We'd better do what he says.

If we don't, he's likely to turn us into valley dwarves, or something horrible about that!"

Chekov feebly asked Wade to lead him out of the room, and just as he looked back for one last look, the door slammed shut.

"My lifelong will—" the dwarf wailed.

"I'm sure it's okay. Even though he wasn't sure, Wade said it anyway.

He didn't like the look on Aven's face just now, in fact, it didn't look like Evan, or anyone Wade would want to meet.

Wade felt a chill, like a knot in his stomach.

The gnomes whispered, squinting at him.

Wade swallowed reluctantly, trying to get rid of the bitterness in his mouth. Then he pulled Chekov aside.

"Chekov, do you have any experience in studying the secret treasure of the dragon god?" Wade asked in a low voice.

"Huh?" said Chekov thoughtfully. "I found out that there was something hidden in it—or so it appeared to be—because as long as I looked at it, I couldn't see anything.

As soon as I wanted to leave, all of a sudden I saw words appear in the fog—"

"Word?" Wade interjected urgently. "What are the words?" Chekov shook his head.

"I don't know. He said gloomily, "Because I can't read;

No one can read it, not even our Foreign Chinese Language Association—"

"Maybe it's a spell. Wade muttered to himself.

"Yes!" said Chekov sadly, "that's why I decided—"

As if something had exploded, the door flew apart.

Chekov turned around in fear. Evan stood in the doorway, holding a small black bag in one hand and a cane and Khupak Kwan of Thai-Cambodia in the other.

Chekov rushed into the room.

"The Dragon God's Secret Treasure!" he screamed, and in frustration he finished speaking. "You took it!"

"Yes, Chekov. Evan said.

The mage's voice sounded very tired, and Wade looked closely and noticed that he was exhausted.

His skin was gray, his eyes were squinted, and his whole body was resting on his cane.

"Follow me, kid. He said to the gnome, "Don't worry. Your wish will come true.

But now I have to bring the Dragon God's secret treasure to the Holy White Stone Council first. ”

"Coming with you?" Chekov repeated in surprise. "Go to the council!"

He clasped his hands excitedly, "Maybe someone will ask me to make a report, do you think-"

"I thought so too," Evan replied.

"Come now, give me a little time to pack, where's my paper—"

Chekov rushed out. Evan turned his head to see the other gnomes tiptoeing to touch his staff.

He frowned and warned them, and the gnomes immediately ran into the testing room.

"What did you find?" Wade approached Evan with some hesitation. The old mage seemed to be surrounded by an aura of darkness.

"The gnomes didn't do anything, did they?"

"No, no. Evan sighed. "They were lucky.

Because this dragon god's secret treasure is still functioning, and it is very powerful.

Much will depend on the decisions of a few – perhaps the fate of the entire world. ”

"What do you mean?

"You don't understand, kid. Evan said softly. "Wait, I want to rest. ”

The mage sat down, leaning against the wall. He shook his head and continued.

"I'm focusing all my willpower on the Dragon God's Secret Treasure, Wade. Oh, I'm not trying to control dragons. He saw the Kande's eyes widen, and he added. "I got a glimpse of the future. ”

"What did you see?" Wade asked hesitantly, but from the mage's serious expression, he wasn't sure he wanted the answer.

"We have two paths in front of us. If we choose the relatively easy one, then everything will look perfect at first. But in the end darkness will come, and there will never be a second chance.

If we choose another one, the road will be extremely difficult.

And it will cost the lives of those we love, good boy.

Worse still, there may be people who sell their souls for it.

But it is only through these terrible sacrifices that we can see the hope of light. Evan closed his eyes.

"Does this have anything to do with the Dragon God's Secret Treasure?" Wade asked, trembling. "Yes. ”

"You know how-how we're going to do it...... To take that black-dark path?" Wade seemed afraid to hear the answer to the question.
