Chapter 587: Yadeyan
Burning zombies are rare monsters, but based on the environment here, the appearance of such monsters is also expected. However, Carl is not worried about the threat that this burning zombie can pose to himself. His mind was clear, he had just been too close to a zombie to see his clothes set on fire, so after distancing himself from it, Carl found that the flame burning on the other party's body was just a decoration.
Carl makes full use of the clearing between the lava pools on either side of the cavern to attack the zombies from a relatively greater distance. The opponent's attack is limited to melee attacks, while Carl can easily send bullets into its almost defenseless body. When the attack was over, the zombie had more than a dozen bullet holes.
Carl was slightly surprised that the other party hadn't completely fallen, and now he had to think about how to bury the guy completely. Ordinary bullets seemed to do a limited amount of damage, and now that he didn't have a freeze bullet in his bullet bag, he pinned his hopes on the alchemy potion to destroy the other party. Karl moved his body to keep a certain distance from the guy as he pondered which alchemy potion would come in handy.
Since the other party is a monster with flames burning all over its body, it is obviously unwise to deal with it with fire-related alchemy potions. So Carl took out a light blue potion from the potionary bag that almost froze his entire palm, "Let me cool you down." He uncorked the bottle and narrowed the distance between him and the zombie with a lunge, and with a wave of his left hand holding the vial, he fanned the light blue potion towards the burning zombie.
The alchemy potion worked in an instant, and the fist-sized ice began to condense on the burning zombie's body, and then shattered with a crisp sound, and the ice magic continued to erode its rotten body that was powerless to the cold. This was much easier, but in order to save bullets, Karl still didn't shoot the opponent for the final blow, he just quietly waited for the alchemy potion to exert all its effects. A bottle of alchemy potion was enough to bury the other party, but he was a little distressed about the general gold coins in his money bag. Alchemy potions, which can directly inflict damage on monsters, are usually expensive, and although Carl doesn't value money, he gets a headache just like everyone else when he doesn't. Moreover, he didn't buy this alchemy potion to deal with a worthless monster that appeared in the course of exploration.
The rotting bodies of the burning zombies eventually turned into shattered ice under the attack of ice magic, which didn't quite fit its ending, but Carl couldn't do much about it. Since the opponent is a zombie without reason, then you must destroy it that can threaten you. If you can talk to the monsters well, maybe the Arad continent will not be so turbulent. Of course, that kind of situation might only appear in fairy tales.
After destroying the burning zombies, Carl spent a minute or so inspecting the cavern, and after making sure there were no other monsters, he walked to the edge of the cliff and stepped on the rope ladder to go deeper. I don't know when this damn construct will come to an end, but Carl doesn't want to think about it that much right now. In contrast, he should have considered how to save the already scarce ammunition in battle. If a gunner is without bullets, it is impossible to fight monsters that seem to never run out of energy, because as a human, Carl's physical strength and energy are always limited.
Although Karl, the mutilated giant that Krent was talking about, had never seen it, but from his description, Karl could guess that it must be a disgusting monster. In any case, he couldn't imagine necromancy splicing together the corpses of the dead, and perhaps only some ruthless dark elf mage could do it without changing his face. If it weren't for Krent, Carl wouldn't have had much kindness to the Dark Elves at all, and he didn't like this group of opinionated guys.
Although the lava caves here are not naturally formed, that doesn't mean they are everywhere. At least there were no pools of lava surging with boiling magma in the lower caverns, giving Carl more room to move. And here, he met those hordes of fire elemental elves Yadeyan. It's also one of the creatures that Carl is most wary of on his trip, and it's a bit of a stretch to define them as monsters, as they always resonate with mages. But for some reason, Adyan here seems to be on the side of the Dark Elves, so Cal, who came here, is their enemy.
A single elemental spirit may not pose much of a threat, like a goblin, but a group of them is different. If Carl made one mistake, he would be burned to ashes by the group of Ardyan in the next second. Therefore, he did not rush to attack, but first observed their movements. Elemental spirits show a noticeable movement before attacking, which is one of their weaknesses. Carl thought it was crucial to find a breakthrough smoothly.
Although the group of Ardyan seemed to move in a haphazard manner, they were actually gradually forming an encirclement of Cal. Karl was quick to notice this, and after a quick look, he locked the breach to his left side. There are the least number of yadyans, and the gaps between each areters are relatively large. As he thought, Karl's body also acted, and if he stayed in place for more than half a second, he might be surrounded by them.
Karl leaped forward, lifted his left wheel and slammed it into an Ardyan in front of him. The blow was easily dodged by Ardyan, but it was exactly what Carl wanted to see, and a large gap appeared in front of his eyes. He seized the opportunity and took a few big steps forward to break away from the encirclement of Yadeyan. Before those fire elemental spirits could react, the celestial people spun around, raised their hands at the same time, and locked the revolver on Yadeyan, who was a little dense due to the failure of the encirclement.
A barrage of bullets rained down on the dense crowd of Yadeyan, the sound of bullets cutting through the air and the screams of Yadeyan as he was hit. The moment Carl released the trigger, he also moved forward quickly, holding the ground with his left hand, and unleashed a Thomas spin that kicked the two Ardyan into a plume of green smoke. After two attacks, Ardyan's numbers dwindled at an alarming rate, and Carl shifted his stance and threw an instant kick forward. That blow wiped out two more Ardyans, and only one was left after the third attack of Ardyan.
Carl deliberately left a bullet in a revolver for this moment. He straightened up and didn't even glance at the Ardyan, the sound of the trigger being pulled first, then the gunshot, and then the screams of the last Ardyan, everything seemed perfect.
The Celestial Man breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that if he had made a mistake in the series of attacks he had just made, perhaps the result would have been very different. Although ordinary elemental spirits are not strong, they can even be said to be vulnerable. But once you get entangled in them, it becomes very difficult to get out.
The continuous fighting made Carl a little tired, and sure enough, it was still the cause of lack of sleep. If you continue like this, you may suffer against those crippled giants, and you must know how to judge the situation at all times. Carl decided to take a break for a while, there was nothing to care about in the empty cavern, so he didn't do anything other than check the amount of ammo again. Successfully tackling a few waves of monsters won't swell Carl, and he knows that the most difficult ones tend to be behind.
