But Princess Wencheng was not very old, and she didn't know why she was superstitious about Buddhism. In fact, it is not too strange that there were not a few superstitious Buddhist children in the Tang clan at that time, and even Li Shimin's daughter, Princess Gaoyang, was among them.

After all, this Gao Yang is his daughter, and he is his favorite daughter, just a lesson, but he cut off the debate monk, this monk is the real master Xuanzang in history after returning from the scriptures. Then Li Daozong is actually one of the three famous generals of the second generation in the early Tang Dynasty, and Li Shiyun and Xue Wanche are equally famous, as early as the second year of Li Yuan's martial arts, at the age of 17, he followed Li Shimin to pacify the anti-kings. Everyone went to the Jinguang Temple together, and the masters and apprentices came in to watch, full of mess and miserable.

Sanzang was sad and couldn't stop the tears in his eyes. I entered the main hall to worship the Buddha again, and I saw six or seven little monks locked up, not to mention Tang Seng, we have to be pitiful.

As soon as the monks introduced the situation, the name of this city was called the Sai Country, which was the great place to go in Xibang. In that year, there were four Yi tributes, the South Yuetuo Kingdom, the North Gaochang Kingdom, the East and West Liang Kingdoms, the West Benbo Kingdom, and the beautiful jade pearl and the concubine horses were paid tribute every year. I don't fight here, I don't go to the levy, he will naturally worship as a state there.

Hey, this sacrificial country is quite good, and even the Xiliang Women's Country pays tribute to beauties.

The monks went on to say that although we are not virtuous in our country, we are not good in martial arts, and the king is not in the way. However, there are treasures in the thirteen-story pagoda of this Jinguang Temple, and the auspicious aura can be seen from afar even in the other four countries. It's just three years ago that Meng Qiushuo was in the middle of the night, and there was a bloody rain. When the day dawns, every family is afraid, and every household is sad. Because the monarch suspected that the monks in the temple had stolen the treasures on the tower, he packed up the monks like this, and tortured the monks to death for two generations.

Hearing this, Sanzang nodded and sighed, "This matter is dark and difficult to understand. One is that the court is out of power, and the other is that you and others are in trouble. ”

It's very strange to see this, this blood rain is too terrifying, and every household is sad. What kind of treasure is this, with such great influence? But the words of the monks and Tang Seng are all vaguely revealing that the court is out of power, the monarch is in chaos, and the ministers are framing or something. What is Lao Wu vaguely reflecting? He must be sighing at a very touching figure.

Tang Seng said that it was not too early now, even if he met the monarch, he couldn't tell the truth. It's better to take advantage of the dead of night, bathe and fast, and then scan the tower to see why.

At the end of the twenty-third chapter of Journey to the West, it is said that this is exactly the right practice to be cautious, to sweep away love and desire and return to the truth, and there is a word "sweep" in it. The title of the sixty-second chapter is to cleanse the dirt and wash the heart but sweep the tower, and the return of the demon to the right is self-cultivation, and the word "sweep" appears again. If you don't understand Lao Wu's true intentions, you really think it's a Buddha's foot. Lao Wu deliberately described Tang monk Chang'an swore to meet Ta Sweep before setting off, and later became clear-sighted. But when the Tang Dynasty Zhongzong, there was also a debate in the Buddhist Lenga sect, which should be swept or not, which is really a mess.

At the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, Buddhism already had a great foundation in ancient China. However, because the earliest Buddhist scriptures came from the Western Regions, not directly from India, and the Buddhist scriptures from the Western Regions were Sanskrit, and they had to be translated into Chinese, but the translation work was done by many people, but not by a team, so the translated Buddhist scriptures contradicted one by one, and the same was true of different translations of the same Buddhist scriptures, which made it difficult for the monks of the Tang Dynasty to follow.

So what should I do? Simply the monks from different regions don't care, they just hold on to a few Buddhist scriptures with similar meanings. This gradually formed various schools of Buddhism, you say that yours is authentic, and what he talks about is the true tradition.

So what about Master Xuanzang in history, he is erudite and has a wide memory, and he has read a lot of Buddhist scriptures since he was a child. I felt that the various versions of Buddhist scriptures could not be justified, so I traveled from south to north, and turned for about a year, but I was even more confused. Xuanzang thought about it, it seemed that he had to go to the root to find the most primitive Buddhist scriptures to see, but he also suspected that the Buddhist scriptures in the Western Regions might also be very messy, so he went to India, the place where Sakyamuni flourished, and went there to find the answer.

So Xuanzang smuggled out of the country, because Li Shimin didn't let him go. Later, it took Xuanzang sixteen or seventeen years to finally arrive in India and return to China with some Buddhist scriptures, and founded the Wisdom School, that is, the Faxiangzong. Li Shimin heard that the master was back, and he couldn't care about the war in a hurry, so he met Xuanzang in Luoyang.

Why does Li Shimin attach great importance to Xuanzang, not because he values Buddhism, but because he wants Xuanzang to return to the world, become an official, and be responsible for introducing the geographical distribution and customs of the Western Regions, so that he can smoothly expand his territory. That Xuanzang definitely didn't agree, and refused the invitation several times. When Li Shimin died, Li Zhi succeeded to the throne and continued to win over Xuanzang, but Xuanzang continued to lose face. Later, Li Zhi was also annoyed, so he ignored him, so Xuanzang's Faxiangzong did not become a climate later.

When it came to Wu Zetian and Tang Zhongzong, both of them believed in Buddhism, so they went around looking for Buddhist masters to come to the court to give a lecture. At that time, the most popular was the Buddhist Lenga sect, that is, the predecessor of the Xianzong, Princess Wencheng passed the Lenga sect to Tubo, and it developed into Tantra. Therefore, the Xianmi mentioned in this Journey to the West are actually the regional branches of the Lenga sect, but in order to effectively distinguish the relationship with the Tang Dynasty in Tibet, the Lenga sect of the Tang Dynasty was called the Xianzong. Then the Tang Dynasty's Ranga Sect-Xianzong, there are many representative figures, and the founder is the Indian monk Dharma. Let's mainly talk about the later Master Hongren, Master Shenxiu and Master Huineng, Master Hongren carried forward the Xianzong.

Wu Zetian heard that Master Shenxiu of Lengjia Sect was very good, so he was invited by his son Emperor Zhongzong to come.

Master Shenxiu was a late bloomer and became a monk at a very young age, but he was ordained as a disciple by Master Hongren at the age of 50. Like Sun Wukong, he first worked for seven years, and then obtained the true inheritance, and was the successor of Xianzong.

Wu Zetian saw Master Shenxiu, who was 95 years old at the time, and he fell to the ground, and he was favored later, and the Lenga Sect was prominent for a long time, until later when Tang Wuzong was disposing of the Buddha, because the gun hit the first bird, it was almost wiped out.

But Buddhism's luck is good, Master Hongren also has an excellent disciple, Master Huineng. Master Huineng is the younger brother of Master Shenxiu, and according to legend, he is also a fire-headed monk, but it is estimated that he cannot be tested. But at that time, everyone knew that there was a Shenxiu, but they didn't know Huineng.

Or Wu Zetian asked Master Shenxiu, do you have any other well-known masters in the Lenga Sect? Because the master was too old at that time, he died soon after six years. Master Shenxiu then recommended his junior brother and rival Master Huineng. In fact, the relationship between Master Shenxiu and Master Huineng is still very harmonious, although there are some different views on Buddhism.

Wu Zetian asked Zhongzong to issue an edict to Huineng, but Master Huineng repeatedly refused. Then the Tang family didn't care about Huineng, and they didn't take care of Huineng's personal disciples or anything.

Therefore, when Tang Wuzong was arranging Buddha, Huineng's descendants escaped a catastrophe. After the death of Tang Wuzong, the successor believed in Buddhism again, and began to support Huineng's later disciples. The monks of the Hui Neng faction officially renamed themselves Zen Buddhism.

Then why are Shenxiu and Huineng both brothers and rivals? Both of their masters are masters of Hongren, but their views on the Buddha's insight are different.

Master Huineng's famous saying, Bodhi has no tree, and the mirror is not a platform. The Buddha nature is always pure, where there is dust! The heart is the Bodhi tree, which is the mirror platform. The mirror is pure, but where is the dust! Bodhi has no tree, and the mirror is not a platform. There is nothing in the first place, where can there be dust! Bodhi only seeks from the heart, why bother to seek the mystery from the outside?

Master Shenxiu declared that the body is a Bodhi tree, and the heart is like a mirror platform, and he must always wipe it diligently, so as not to cause dust.

This formed the so-called two factions of the North and the South, but it is obvious that Lao Wu borrowed the words of Master Shenxiu to serve the Tang monk sweeping the tower in the novel. But Xuanzang in history didn't care about whether he could sweep the tower or not, he mainly looked at whether the Buddha statue was big enough or not. So which statement is more reasonable, whatever, we don't need to discuss, let's just watch Journey to the West.

Tang Seng and Wukong each held a broom, first burned incense to worship the Buddha and prayed, and then opened the tower door. But here's a close-up, and the big lock on the door is still filled with lead. Why is this? It turns out that Lao Wu also laid the groundwork in this small place.

Tang Seng went in and carefully swept the ten floors, and then he couldn't stand it anymore, so he ordered the monkey to continue working. Wukong divided five by two, and the estimate of sweeping was the same as not sweeping, but he suddenly heard someone talking on the top floor, maybe it was a monster.

Sneaking a look, it turns out that there are really two goblins, guessing and eating wine there. The walker appeared, and he caught these two little stupid monsters, well, and a little cute.

Before they were sentenced, the two monsters begged for mercy and confessed, "The two of us were sent by the Ten Thousand Saints Dragon King of Bibo Pond in the Troubled Stone Mountain to patrol the tower." His name is Ben Bo Erba, and my name is Ba Bo Erben. He's a catfish monster, and I'm a black fish spirit. The daughter of the old dragon, the princess of all saints, summoned a horse, called the nine-headed insect, the year before last and the dragon king came here, it rained a burst of blood, polluted the pagoda, and stole the relics in the tower Buddha treasure. The princess went to the Heavenly Lingxiao Hall again and stole the Queen Mother's nine-leaf Lingzhi grass to warm the Buddha treasure. ”

When I first started reading it, I didn't pay much attention to this description. After thinking about it for a while, I didn't come up with a reason, I don't know what Lao Wu wanted to say. And this Halloween princess is a little too bold, but even the queen mother's treasure can be stolen, either because of good luck or because it has something to do with the queen mother. By the way, we can analyze that in the book Journey to the West, the Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother must be two people.

The walker grinned when he heard this, the Bull Demon King didn't like it, he went to Bibo Lake to drink a while ago, and it turned out that he was with this Ten Thousand Saints Dragon King and the nine-headed worm, specializing in bad things!

So what exactly is the bad thing that the monkey is talking about, is it so simple as stealing the Buddha treasure? Definitely not, because what the monkey said clearly is to "specialize" in doing bad things. Then I mentioned the Bull Demon King again, yes, I almost forgot, the relationship between the Bull Demon King and the Bibotan Dragon King family is very close, and it seems that last time I was obviously discussing something. It seems that the mystery of the Bull Demon King has not been completely solved, and there should be a deeper mapping relationship between the Bull Demon King, the Ten Thousand Saints Dragon King, the Ten Thousand Saints Palace Master, and the Nine-Headed Insect.

When two or three little monks saw that they had caught the thief, they were happy and gave good news to the big monks. Tang monk Wukong asked people to take good care of the thief, and the next day he met the king.

When the king heard that the Tang monk was sent to the west by the Tang Dynasty in the south of the province to seek the true scriptures, he said with joy in his heart, "It seems that your Tang King has a disease, and he can choose a high monk, and he does not avoid the long distance, and worships my Buddha to learn the scriptures;

According to Lao Wu's routine, this sentence has a lot of articles. The decision is not just a simple matter of the festival country. Lao Wu used the words of the king of the sacrifice race to deliberately exaggerate and extend the evaluation of the monk, we should be able to see it. The book Journey to the West is definitely not a work of worshipping Buddhism.

Sanzang said again, although there is a brocade guard, you still have to go to the apprentice. Also, it's okay for Jinyiwei to catch people, but it's useless to catch monsters, in fact, what Lao Wu means is probably that this Jinyiwei is just another kind of goblin.

When the king saw Tang Seng's disciples, he was shocked and said, "The holy monk is so rich, how can the disciples be so good?" Sun Dasheng heard it and shouted loudly, "Your Majesty, people must not look good, and the sea water cannot be measured. If you love abundance, how can you catch the thief?"

This old Wu, don't forget to point your fingers and poke at any time. For example, in the appointment of officials in the Ming Dynasty, a big requirement was to look energetic, not like a monkey. There are several characters in this Ming Dynasty, and the article is well written, but unfortunately it is ugly, so the emperor did not choose the champion.

Sha Seng is obviously an official fan, I think it was the same in Baoxiang Country at the beginning, when I saw the king, bragged about it, and drank some wine, I didn't know my surname.

The Bajie sand monks each grabbed a demon thief, and Sun Dasheng still sat in a sedan chair and escorted the two monsters to the court.

The king asked for a confession, pardoned the shackles of the monks of Jinguang Temple, and placed wine on the Qilin Hall to celebrate the success of the holy monks. Good guy, after eating two banquets in a row, this old pig came to his feet when he was full, and took the initiative to ask for war.

Sanzang was very happy and said, "Bajie has always been diligent!" This old pig was addicted to the Bull Demon King with Wukong last time, and Tang Seng was the most fond of Bajie, so he quickly praised one or two.

However, you see that the sand monk is now bowing his head and pretending to drink, and he will definitely not let the monkey bring it again. The monkey had already understood Sha Seng thoroughly, and when he heard Tang Seng praise the old pig, in order not to embarrass the scene, he rushed to say it first and let Sha Wujing protect the master, giving a high-sounding reason. Wukong's current mind is not ordinary.

The two of them carried the two little demons and went straight to Bibo Pond.

However, it was said that the king of the sacrifice race and the ministers of all sizes, when they saw Sun Dasheng and Bajie flying through the clouds, they complimented Tang Seng. Sanzang Dao, "The poor monk has no mana, thanks to these three disciples along the way." ”

My second senior brother is Marshal Guozheng Tianpeng, and he was also in charge of the 80,000 sailors of Tianhe. But my disciple is powerless, but the curtain will be ordained. Foolish brothers are incompetent in other things, such as capturing demons and binding monsters, catching thieves, subduing tigers and dragons, kicking the heavens and making wells, and even stirring up the sea and rivers. This soaring clouds and fog, calling the rain and the wind, moving the stars with the exchange, carrying the mountains and catching the moon, what a special thing!"

This Sha Wujing is very good at talking, and the monkey and Bajie just disappeared, so they immediately raised their heads, their eyebrows fluttered, and their spit flew horizontally, telling a story. Sha Seng was already convinced by the two senior brothers, but as long as he had the opportunity, he still didn't forget to confess himself. At first, he was humble and said that he had no mana, but then he said that he was a general of the shutter, and the king of a series of skills was stunned.

But it was said that Sun Dasheng and Bajie took the two little demons to the Bibo Pond of the Troubled Stone Mountain, cut off the ears of a black fish monster, and cut off the lower lip of the catfish essence, and asked them to ventilate the news.

The Halloween Dragon King was drinking with the nine-headed horse, and when he heard it. The dragon king was afraid, but the horse was not afraid at all, and said with a smile, "Taiyue rest assured, the foolish son-in-law has learned some martial arts since he was a child, and he has also met a few heroes within the four seas, I am afraid that he will do something! ”

There are eyes in front and eyes in the back, and they can be seen in all directions; the left is also the mouth, the right is also the mouth, and the nine mouths are speech. A shout vibrated in the sky, like a crane flying through Jiuchen.

This nine-headed insect is still a military general, at this time, he feels more and more like a person, a son-in-law of Tang Taizong Li Shimin, the second son of Fang Xuanling, a famous minister of the Tang Dynasty, and Fang Yiai.

When the horse heard this, he sneered slightly, "You turned out to be a monk who studied scriptures, and you didn't care about weaving things! I stole his treasure, you took the scriptures of the Buddha, what do you have to do with you, but you came to fight!"

Poof, oops, old Wu, what are you doing? In the words of this nine-headed insect, it is very interesting. If you read the New Tang Dynasty book, you will understand the mystery here about the story between Fang Yiai, Princess Gaoyang, and the debate monk. However, the old Tang Dynasty book does not mention it, which makes it very difficult for us to judge it clearly. But it is obvious that Lao Wu believes or borrows the statement of the New Tang Dynasty.

The practitioner is now a monk, and he must be unjust to his fellow disciples. But is that what Lao Wu meant? The following description is too stunning, and it is quite difficult to understand.

The nine-headed worm and Sun Wukong fought together, and Sun Wukong said in the middle, "It's really bad that you deliberately steal the treasure! That thief, less frivolous, return his treasure to be healthy!"

And his baby is healthy, what does it mean when I hear it, is it a relic? No, it is quite complicated here, the relic ostensibly reflects the intention of the Tang Dynasty to love the Tang Dynasty, but Lao Wu Neili is really vaguely pointing to the heroic spirit of Yu Qian, the minister of the Ming Dynasty!

Yu Qian (May 13, 1398 - February 16, 1457), the name Tingyi, Haojiean, Han nationality, Ming Dynasty minister, national hero, ancestral home of Kaocheng (now Shangqiu Minquan County, Henan Province), Qiantang County, Hangzhou Prefecture, Zhejiang Province (now Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province) native.

During the Xuande years, he did the imperial history, and served as the Jiangxi patrol before and after, and the right attendant of the military department patrolled Henan and Shanxi, and the official reputation was very good. But because he did not flatter Wang Zhen, he was framed and sentenced to death, and was reinstated by the people's plea for advice. In 1449, after the Tumubao Change, Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty was captured, and he tried his best to move south to avoid trouble, so he was appointed as the secretary of the military department, supported the Ming Dynasty, and successfully commanded the defense of the Beijing Division.

However, after the restoration of Ming Yingzong in 1457, he was falsely accused of rebellion by Shi Heng and others and was killed.
