Chapter 40: In the end, merit and demerit are right and wrong
Wukong remembered the Northern True Martial Demon Tianzun, who was now on Wudang Mountain in the Southern Ganbu Continent, and asked him to come and rescue the master. So I went to worship Wudang Mountain, met the ancestor and told the reason.
The Demon Heavenly Venerable Patriarch first boasted about himself, how powerful he was. But as soon as the conversation changed, he said that he couldn't take care of it, and he didn't have the will of the Jade Emperor, so he gave the monkey a face, and perfunctorily sent some turtles, snakes, two generals and five divine dragons to Wukong together.
It seems that this Demon Wandering Heavenly Venerable is lying, and he doesn't want to offend the old monster with yellow eyebrows, because this is the subordinate of the Buddha from the East. But Lao Wu is also saying that those really capable officials in the court are unwilling to offend this eunuch easily. Moreover, because the Demon Destroyer Tianzun is responsible for the security of Beizhou, there is reason to suspect that this is a senior general or supervisor of the Ming Dynasty.
Then it's no surprise, these few who came are not as good as the twenty-eight constellations, and they will be caught.
The monkey ran away first when he saw that the situation was not good, and he was a little frustrated, but the little Buddha God actually came and reminded Wukong that it was time to work, otherwise he would eat Tang Seng.
Sun Wukong actually said to Gong Cao with tears, "I am now ashamed of the heavenly palace, ashamed of the sea! I am afraid to ask the reason for the Bodhisattva, and I am sad to see the jade elephant of the future! Teach me that I have no way to ask for help, what can I do?"
It is understandable to hear it, and the Jade Emperor and the soldiers sent by the Northern Zhenwu were broken, and they had a half-break with the two of them not long ago, so of course they couldn't go to them for help.
That Gong Cao smiled and recommended a Great Sage National Teacher Wang Bodhisattva and his disciple Prince Xiao Zhang, who might be able to break the siege.
Wukong went, and the national teacher king also said some face-saving words, and he refused to go by himself, so he sent Prince Xiao Zhang to go. And in the words, it is mentioned that the Buddhists subdued the Great Sage of Ahuizotl. This Ahuizotl Great Sage is considered by some to be the prototype of the Monkey King.
When Prince Xiao Zhang said a big thing, when the demon king heard this, he sneered slightly, "That prince, you gave up the country, and from that national teacher, Wang Bodhisattva, what kind of immortality art did you cultivate? I had to arrest the Huai River water monster, but how could you listen to Sun Xingzhi's absurd words, thousands of mountains and rivers, come here to accept your life!
In addition to these words, Lao Wu must be seeking immortality in the crooked royal family again.
When Xiao Zhang heard this, he was furious in his heart, and everyone went up together, soon
The goblin untied the bag again. The walker shouted, "Rank carefully!" The prince and the others did not know the meaning of "careful". With a strange slippery sound, the four generals and the prince were put into a bag and loaded in, but the walker was gone in advance.
The monkey was really out of choice now, and he cried out in melancholy. Suddenly, someone shouted, "Wukong, do you recognize me?"
It turned out that the Buddha came from the east, and it was specially designed for this little thunder monster. The Buddha said, "He is a yellow-eyed boy in front of me. On March 3, I went to the Yuan Shihui and left him in the palace to guard, and he abducted these treasures from me and became a pretending Buddha. That bag is my acquired bag, commonly known as the human seed bag. The mace was a hammer. ”
When the walker heard this, he shouted, "What a laughing monk, you have left this boy, teach him to call him the Buddha, and frame the old grandson, there is inevitably a family law that is not careful!" Maitreya said, "One is that I am not careful, and the population is lost, and the other is that your master and apprentice have not finished their demons, so the lower realm of the hundred spirits should suffer." I have come with you to take him away. ”
Seeing this, I suddenly understood that this yellow-eyed old monster actually reflected Liu Jin, a eunuch. No wonder the supernatural powers are vast, so many immortals have suffered.
Maitreya smiled and asked the monkey to trick him, and then turn into a watermelon for him to eat, and naturally he would catch him. The walker said, "Although this plan is wonderful, how do you recognize the ripe melon, and why is he willing to come here with me?"
This sentence proves that Wukong's ability to change is very high, and most immortals and Buddhas can't distinguish it.
But there are still those who can be recognized, but only at the level of the Buddha and the Taoist. Maitreya dipped the index finger of his right hand in the divine water in his mouth, wrote a forbidden word on the practitioner's palm, taught him to clench his fist, and when he saw the goblin let go in person, he followed.
Wukong is happy now, the dawn is coming, and he really brought the monsters to the melon garden. acted according to the plan, and sure enough, the monster was greedy and ate Sun Wukong into his stomach.
Maitreya showed his true image, received the old monster with yellow eyebrows, and the walker saw this mana, how dare he violate it, so he had to lead the Buddha up the mountain, return to the temple, and collect the gold ballast. The Buddha collected the gold in one place, blew the fairy breath, recited the mantra, immediately returned to the original restoration, regained a pair of golden cymbals, said goodbye to the walkers, and drove the auspicious clouds to the Elysium.
This old Wu is still ridiculing the monks for not loving money, and the more the merrier.
But it should be noted that Wukong "has to" be like this, which means that Wukong is really not willing to let the Buddha take away the gold and silver, which is the offering of good men and women, and the blood and sweat of the people of Limin.
Wukong killed all the little demons and saved Tang Seng, Bajie, and Sha Seng. At this time, the interesting thing is that the monkey knew that there were still the gods who helped and tied them up in the cellar, but they ignored it for now.
He waited for the others to eat first, and then chatted slowly before letting the gods go. After a long rest, I didn't go on the road until the next morning. Before leaving, put a fire and burn all those precious buildings, thrones, high pavilions, and lecture halls to ashes.
Wukong was damaged, and the treasure pavilion of the yellow-eyed old monster was burned clean, and it couldn't be left for the Buddhist family. But what really reflects is that Liu Jin lost power later and was raided.
Liu Jin, a person from 1451 to 1510, was originally talking, but was adopted by a eunuch surnamed Liu when he was a child, and later became a eunuch. When he grew up, he served Ming Wuzong and was deeply favored, so he became the eunuch of the master of ceremonies. Later, he became the head of the "Eight Tigers", with monstrous power, known as the "Emperor", and called Ming Wuzong "Emperor Sitting".
Then Liu Jin was arrested and raided his home, and it was found that the gold and silver were huge from his home, and he had to have 6 million taels. In any case, this being too rich may be a crime in itself, so Liu Jin was sentenced to Ling Chi for attempting rebellion, embezzlement, persecution of colleagues, etc., saying that he had cut more than 3,000 knives.
In 1505, Liu Jin, together with Ma Yongcheng, Gao Feng, Luo Xiang, Wei Bin, Qiu Ju, Gu Dayong, and Zhang Yong, was called the "Eight Tigers". Liu Jin can please his master more than Wang Zhen, and he specially let the emperor eat, drink and have fun, ignoring the government and politics.
Then many of the ministers below, such as Liu Jian, Xie Qian, Li Dongyang, scholars of the cabinet, Zhang Sheng, Shangshu, Yang Yuan, and Han Wen, the secretary of the household department, all demanded that Liu Jin be killed.
However, Jiao Fang, the secretary of the ministry, informed Liu Jin. Liu Jin led the seven tigers overnight to play a bitter trick for the emperor. As a result, Ming Wuzong relented, and also ordered Liu Jin to be in charge of the ceremonial supervisor, Ma Yongcheng to be in charge of the East Factory, and Gu Dayong to be in charge of the West Factory, and dealt a heavy blow to those righteous ministers and eunuchs.
However, this Liu Jin is still a guy who knows a little bit about governing the world. He was able to make a proposal to approve the chapter by himself, and Jiao Fang, a university scholar, revised it, and Li Dongyang of the cabinet checked it, which also shows that he is extremely talented. What is even more meaningful is that Liu Jin has made a lot of beneficial improvements to the official system of the Ming Dynasty, and there is also "Liu Jin's reform", which is not simple.
Some of the reforms proposed by Liu Jin, including the establishment of internal factories to supervise the eastern and western factories, have some merit, but when they are implemented, they are seriously out of shape.
Severe sentences were advocated for the negligence of the ministers, and fines were also paid to the officials. Because there were too many ministers involved, they offended the ministers.
Liu Jin suggested that on the one hand, the burden on the peasants should be reduced, but it should also encroach on the land of the people.
Liu Jin was also an anti-religious fighter, advocating the remarriage of widows and the cremation of the dead. This offended some Confucianists and made people and gods angry.
So this Liu Jin is a very strange guy, and he can be regarded as a character with personality, talent and insight, but unfortunately after being cut, his heart is too distorted. This eunuch has no guys, so he is very keen on power and wealth, and looted all the property.
This Liu Jin will be dismissed and imprisoned if he has committed a mistake, and if he is not enough to use the law, he will greet him with a stick. Before and after, the staff scolded too many celebrities, including Dai Milling, Wang Shouren and so on. Later, Liu Jin felt that it was too monotonous, so he invented the flail method, and there were many officials who enjoyed this, even the officials of Jinyiwei also cleaned up. At first, Liu Jin beat people and reported to the emperor for instructions, but later Ming Wuzong was annoyed, so you can beat people as you like.
Therefore, the soft blade mace of the yellow-eyed old monster probably refers to the combination of the court staff and the flail method.
The court staff has been there for a long time, why must it be Liu Jin's? In the past, the Ming Dynasty beat people's buttocks, which was very elegant, so that the officials who committed the crime were still covered with a blanket. As for Liu Jin, it was damaged and let the minister be beaten with his bare ass. Then don't you have to offend the Confucian minister who loves etiquette, and hate this eunuch to death.
Liu Jin has offended too many people, basically in addition to himself, he dares to beat and beat every official, and there are quite a few people who have died in prison and factories. There must be some eunuchs who are not big or small who are also dissatisfied with Liu Jin, such as the eunuchs Li Rong and Huang Wei, who also let Liu Jin clean up. After a long time, even the people in the Seven Tigers hated Liu Jin to the core.
In 1510, Zhu Ningxuan, the king of Anhua, launched a rebellion, and the Ming Wu sect sent Yang Yiqing, the imperial historian, and Zhang Yong, one of the eunuchs of the Eight Tigers, to pacify it. After Yang Yiqing put down the rebellion, he discussed with Zhang Yongyi and simply took this opportunity to get rid of Liu Jin.
Sure enough, the eunuch Zhang Yong deliberately made the emperor drink high at the right time, and said Liu Jin's seventeen major sins. Ming Wuzong arrested Liu Jin, but when he woke up the next day, he felt that it was necessary to inquire in person, so he went to Liu Jin's house to have a look. It turned out that there were so many mountains of gold and silver, and there were some other contraband.
That Ming Wuzong asked for a three-hall trial, and unsurprisingly, Liu Jin was sentenced to Ling Chi. Jiao Fang and Liu Yu in the cabinet, Zhang Cai, the secretary of the ministry, Cao Yuan, the secretary of the military department, and Yang Yu and Shi Wenyi, the commanders of Jinyiwei, are all Liu Jin and his group.
As a result, Zhang Cai was killed in prison for some reason, and the other ministers were demoted. This is because Zhang Yong used Liu Jin's experience to advise the emperor's subordinates to be merciful.
At that time, Zhu Houxi, the Ming Wuzong, was the character of Maitreya Buddha in Journey to the West.
Ming Wuzong's father Ming Xiaozong pursued monogamy, so he only had two sons. One died early, leaving Zhu Houxie as a lone seedling, so he took care of him and cared for him, and he was used to his son since he was a child.
Zhu Houxi, the emperor, is also very strange, with both a virtuous side and a greedy side. And this is still an emperor on the horse, who once personally led the army to face to face with the Tatar army. He also knew that he loved soldiers like sons and boosted morale, and in Yingzhou, at the cost of losing more than 50 people, he slaughtered more than a dozen enemies, including one that the emperor personally killed. It is estimated that someone else surrounded a Tatar soldier and beat him half to death, so that Ming Wuzong could slaughter him. However, this battle was also very commendable, and the combat capabilities of the Tatar cavalry were far from comparable to the officers and soldiers of the Ming Dynasty at that time. At that time, when I saw that the enemy was rushing over, many soldiers of the Ming army wanted to run away, but Zhu Houxie shouted first and rushed forward, which lifted the morale of the army.
At that time, the army led by Ming Yingzong was only about 50,000 people, and the little Tatar prince was also 50,000 cavalry. But according to the combat effectiveness, the cavalry on the grassland is much braver, and compared with the half-hung cavalry of the Ming Dynasty at this time, there is no problem with one block and three, and the horses are much stronger than those of the Ming Dynasty. The cavalry of the Ming Dynasty during the Ming Wuzong period could not be compared with Zhu Yuanzhang at that time, and it was inferior to the cavalry in the Zhu Di period. Then the battle of Ming Wuzong is enough, and it is even a small myth. Later, during the reign of Ming Wuzong's cousin, during the Jiajing period, the Ming Dynasty army and the Tatars were unable to conduct field battles at all. In addition to the famous general Zeng Mill who used artillery to attack from a distance, bows and crossbows to assist in killing the enemy, and infantry battle array defense, others fought against the Tatars, and they all lost more and won less. The 100,000 cavalry of the Tatars later invaded the outskirts of Beijing, and the 100,000 soldiers and horses of Jiajing did not dare to meet the enemy at all. This is in stark contrast to Ming Wuzong's Yingzhou Campaign, and we should applaud Zhu Houxi.
The battle in Yingzhou took about ten hours, and both sides were still tentative attacks, so the casualties were not large. In the end, the Ming army could not resist and had to retreat. The Tatar army pursued, but God did the Ming army a favor, and a heavy fog fell from the sky, shrouding it for many days. Then when the two sides saw that God did not allow this war, they both withdrew their troops.
Because under the encouragement of the emperor's personal charge, the same number of people but the combat effectiveness is very different, it is quite good to be able to fight like that. Moreover, the little prince of Tatar saw that the emperor was so brave, and he had no bottom in his heart, plus he suspected that God was helping Ming Wuzong, so he didn't dare to provoke a war for a long time.
At the beginning of the war, the officials of the Ming Dynasty resolutely resisted the imperial expedition of Emperor Wuzong of the Ming Dynasty, but Zhu Houxian did not let a single civil servant accompany him, and all the generals including Jiang Bin led the army to meet the enemy as the self-proclaimed general Zhu Shou. Therefore, no matter what the battle of Yingzhou was, Ming Wuzong made great contributions, and we must evaluate it objectively and fairly.
The history of the Ming Dynasty only records this battle, "In winter and October, it was stationed in Shunshengchuan." Jia Chen, the little prince committed Yang and plundered Yingzhou. Ding Wei, personally supervised the army and fought for five days. Xinhai, Kou led to go, stationed in Datong. "There's no mention of how they fought. It seems that Zhang Tingyu and others also know that the Battle of Yingzhou is actually not glorious.
Later, Zhu Chenhao, the king of Ning, Jiangxi, rebelled. Zhu Houxie used the name of the general Zhu Shou to drive the expedition again. But halfway through, Wang Shouren had already captured King Ning alive. Zhu Houxian was depressed and ignored Wang Yangming's sacrifice of prisoners. Wang Yangming was also extremely smart, so he said that he was caught by the general Zhu Shou, which ended the cold reception of this scene. But it's not over, no, you Wang Shouren said this, everyone doesn't believe it. So Ming Wuzong returned King Ning to the pretended release, and then caught him personally, and finally ended this farce.
Ming Wuzong specially set up a general's mansion and did not let other ministers go there to find him. On the day of the beginning of spring, Zhu Houxie found a hundred and ten monks and young women, and walked and played in the car. Let the monks take their bald heads to touch the colored balls held by the woman, and the emperor will be very happy when he looks at it.
This plot was also quoted by Lao Wu and written into Journey to the West, that is, in the seventy-second episode, Tang Seng watched the three spider spirits playing with balloons there, and he admired the boss for a while.
Moreover, Ming Wuzong also likes to lead some people to walk around the street in the middle of the night, and when he sees a large family, he may rush in and need to find a woman to have fun. Although it is absurd, we must also know that Zhu Houxie has never directly bullied poor people.
Ming Wuzong died at the age of thirty-one, and before he died, he said, "I can't do anything about my illness." He reached the queen mother with his intentions, and the world was serious, and he was tried and dealt with by the ministers. The past is all wrong, and it is not something that you can predict. ”
The history of the Ming Dynasty evaluated the Ming Wuzong really not very well, which roughly means that when the Ming Dynasty arrived at Wuzong, the country was in decline. The emperor was able to get rid of Liu Jin and personally lead the army to resist the foreign invaders, so it was okay. But the emperor loves to play too much, likes to be with villains, and likes to be a military general if he doesn't like to be an emperor, which is jaw-dropping. Fortunately, there are still many capable ministers above the court, who are trying their best to maintain it, so that they do not lose their families and humiliate the country. If this emperor was willing to listen to his father's last words and work hard, how could he end up being criticized by later generations? After watching it for a long time, he didn't even write a good word to Ming Wuzong.
But what kind of emperor Zhu Houxie is, everyone will comment on it.
Then the Maitreya Buddha in Journey to the West is obviously a reflection of Ming Wuzong, although there are not many pen and ink descriptions, but it is quite expressive, the pen is powerful, the words are very deep, and Zhu Houxie has mixed praises. What is quite puzzling is that Maitreya Buddha's mantra, "Do you recognize me?", is called a puzzle; Huangmei Tong'er is Liu Jin; the 28 constellations invited by the monkey represent the framed ministers; and the other immortals invited by the Quartet are very likely to allude to some of the official eunuchs reused by Zhu Houxi. The golden cymbals, the human seed bag, and the mace are just torture tools that Liu Jin used to deal with people who don't like the eyes.
It seems that Lao Wu's pen turned around, and pointed the finger at other emperors and ministers of the Ming Dynasty or something, if you want to know what will happen next, please listen to the next time and continue to talk nonsense.
