Chapter 058: Dragon Knight
The dragon flapped its wings and flew off the ground like a dark shadow that obscured the starlight.
"Brother, where are we going?" said Mio, waving his brown wings as he weaved through the alleys. In front of the dragon, he was as small as a farrow.
"It's too low, it's high, it's high, there's a deer man going to take my soul!" Horn roared as the wind beat his ears. He looked back and saw that the dragon was following right behind, smoke swirling between its teeth, and each flap of its wings set off a scarlet sandstorm of flames, which then turned into a stream of green smoke. Beneath it was a constant stream of running and roaring citizens, beneath the flames and crumbling buildings for help.
"Where?" Mio had just finished asking, when he was struck on both wings by a powerful force. He could almost hear his wings snapping, and then he fell from mid-air, and along with his human brother on his back, crashed into a burning wooden tower, and was thrown far away by inertia when he landed.
"No!" Horn could only say this. The bloody hand of the headless corpse covered his mouth, and an unpleasant stench penetrated his nose, and he felt the blood in his body ignited by something, and quickly swam and transvaporate in the meridians of his veins.
This hand seemed to take away all his strength, and in just half a heartbeat, his body had begun to weaken, and the hand holding the black steel sword no longer obeyed. He felt like a part of himself was being pulled out of his body, as if he had touched a demon seventeen years ago.
There was a muffled "bang". Horn jerked his head and saw Mio rolling into the distance with the headless corpse.
But Lady Luck seemed to be there for only a few seconds before he heard a piercing hiss in front of him, a roar that was enough to wake up the whole of Karta, and the hot wind of the furnace swept in, and the long neck covered in black scales stretched out towards him. It opened its mouth, and he could see the charred flesh between the black teeth.
Am I staring at hell?
He couldn't swallow his fear, but he didn't dare to turn his head, he had never been so sure that if he ran away, the dragon would eat him, or burn him. If you die here, everything will be over, the dragon will burn the land and towns, dry the rivers and even the oceans, the grasslands will be scorched, the forests will be scorched, the human race will disappear from the world, and the two continents will eventually become a purgatory of scorched earth and lava.
The dragon roared in his face, breath burning his skin. In the smoldering amber eyes, Horn could see his own reflection in them. In front of it, he was too vulnerable, too small, too powerless and too afraid.
I couldn't let him see my fears. So he groped around, and finally found the black steel sword. The hard, warm touch of the hilt gave him some courage. The dragon roared again, the roar nearly causing him to throw away his sword. Its teeth snapped together in front of him, then opened again, and dragon flames burned out of its huge black throat like a fiery furnace.
"No, no, no!" he eventually cried out.
"Brother?" a voice came from the fire.
"Sonny?" Horn subconsciously spoke, and the dragon flame rolled deep in the dragon's throat, like volcanic lava about to erupt.
Sonny, at the same time, seemed to suddenly understand something. He remembered the story that his brother told him during the Southern Expedition Council: Legend has it that thousands of years ago, the evil dragon burned down villages and towns, and a mysterious wizard descended from the sky...... "It turns out that the legend is true, that person is me?" he looked at the dragon in front of him and muttered, then put his hand on the dark scales, "Brother, remember, the blood of the wolf is the key to unlocking the seal of the ancient dragon." ”
The dragon let out a roar, and the black blood that had just been pierced by a human's sharp arrow flowed out of the wound and dripped onto the charred floor, turning into smoke.
"O ancient dragon!" he said, reciting the incantation on the parchment, "in my name, pray to the god Namu, who has wandered away from the world and burned all living beings, and in the name of the god Namu, by the power of the god Namu, I will be sacrificed to destroy your resentment, let the memory sleep, and I will be your soul!"
A light sensation spread throughout the body. Sonny felt his blood seep out of the myriad pores and float, churning hot and churning like the dragon flame in front of him, turning into smoke.
The ground beneath his feet began to tremble, the crowd around him stopped running, and the world seemed to be sinking, falling into an endless abyss. The full moon overhead grew farther and smaller, and the star-studded night sky gradually lost its brilliance, replaced by a fire all around it, and a dome that covered the night sky.
After the dark dome had completely robbed him of the starlight, Sonny felt himself rise into the air, like a light feather, falling into the fiery mouth. Then fall, fall, fall, fall with the world into the abyss, and finally fall asleep......
When I opened my eyes again, it seemed that thousands of years had come and gone.
He found that he had grown wings, covered with dragon scales as black as jade, and there was some kind of warm wetness on his back, and the scene in his eyes gradually became clearer, and then ...... Then he saw his brother with frightened eyes.
"Sonny, where are you?" Horn asked, looking into the dragon's eyes.
It seemed to want to say something, but couldn't. The giant tail began to whit around, splashing a burst of gravel and gray mist, and after raising his neck and hissing, a blazing dragon flame shot straight into the sky, like a flame spear wrapped in flames, mixed with a storm of black and red stone and sand, pushing away the clouds, illuminating the night, making the earthquake tremble, and the birds and beasts fled, and its momentum was turbulent and majestic.
"Good boy, you're here, hehehe......" Horn turned his head to see the headless corpse carrying the dying Mio, "come and get the meat...... Come...... Come...... Come ......"
The dragon turned its head and roared at the corpse, the wind from its mouth tearing Mio's feathers. It spread its black wings, and several flames lit up all around, pale golden pillars of fire mixed with blood red and orange, and the pair of wings flapped in the stale air, stirring up a cloud of ash.
Horn slashed his other hand with the black steel sword again, scattering blood at the dragon that was about to take off, but the next second he was once again covered by the foul-smelling hand and pushed to the ground. But the dragon swung its huge claws, grabbed the headless corpse, and threw it into the air.
"Are you helping me?" Horn gasped and stood up, looking up at the cloud-obscured dragon.
The dragon seemed to understand something. It bent down, its gaze resting on Horn for three heartbeats. Orange embers lingered around its scaly mouth, smoke rose from its nostrils, and its eyes flickered like two lakes of dissolved gold.
"Tell me, Sonny, where is he?" Horn shouted, trying to overpower the loud noise it leaned over the ground.
The dragon's long neck curled like a bow, and with a long roar, dragon flames erupted upward.
"You don't know where he is?" Horn looked up at it, "And what about you, why do you want to help me?"
The dragon let out one last roar, its stomach fell to the ground, and its two giant eyes were still looking at him.
"It seems that we can't communicate in human language. Horn jumped on the dragon's back, and the dragon writhed underneath, as if gathering strength, and its muscles trembled. "But you can help me kill that damn prophet!!"
The black wings thundered, and the scarlet scorched earth was thrown abruptly underfoot. Horn felt dizzy, so fast he couldn't imagine it, unlike riding Mio, the wind had almost completely robbed him of his hearing, and he had to close his eyes.
When he opened it again, through tears and dust, he saw that Karta had become a purgatory in a sea of fire, and in it, he saw the headless corpse at a glance, standing there in a daze, like countless citizens of Karta who looked up.
The dragon's broad black wings flapped the air, and Horn felt the hot scales between his thighs, and he reached out to grab one of them, his fingers digging at the point of focus. "See?" he shouted as he leaned into its ear, "it's there, yes, yes!"
The dragon circled and changed direction, swooping down on the headless corpse. "That's the direction, good, that's all. He looked at the approaching target, and a smile appeared on his lips, "Dragon Flame!!"
