The annual table of Xia Shang of the relevant information
readx;? Xia Shang Anniversary Table
The beginning of China's letter history began with the Shang dynasty (oracle bone inscriptions, Yinxu ruins), or from the first year of the Zhou Republic (i.e., 841 BC) recorded in Shi Qian's "Historical Records", while there are no direct historical and archaeological data to prove that it was in the previous Xia, Shang and third dynasties or even during the period of the Three Emperors and Five Emperors. There are different controversies about the dating of the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties since ancient times, but there is no absolute evidence for either theory, and the following is a list of the two most popular theories today.
Argument 1 (this statement is commonly used in Chinese mainland, but is still very controversial):
On November 9, 2000, the Xia Shang Zhou Dynasty Project officially announced the "Xia Shang Anniversary Table". The "Xia and Shang Anniversary Table" sets the Xia Dynasty to begin around 2070 BC, the Xia and Shang boundaries to about 1600 BC, the Pangeng capital to move to about 1300 BC, and the Shang and Zhou boundaries (the year of King Wu's war) to 1046 BC.
Argument 2 (this argument is commonly used by Sinologists in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas China):
The chronology of Shao Yong's "Huangji Jingshi" in the Northern Song Dynasty is as follows
Xia Dynasty (2224 BC – 1766 BC);
Shang Dynasty (1766 BC – 1122 BC);
Zhou Dynasty (1122 BC – 256 BC).
