The four Tang monks and apprentices went to the west to learn scriptures, and experienced nine hundred and eighty-one difficulties, all because of Tang monks. Except for a very small number of lustful and life-loving banshees who want to be a loving couple with him, the vast majority of monsters are to taste Tang monk's meat in order to achieve the purpose of immortality.

Tang Seng is infinitely useful, why didn't any of the monsters with great magical powers succeed? After years of research, I have come up with the following three reasons:

One is that the monster is too hygienic. After each demon caught Tang Seng, he instructed the little demons to wash him and soak him (some even made him hungry and drained the waste in his body). This wash provided Sun Wukong with precious time, and finally rescued the master. If Tang Seng boiled and steamed him as soon as he got it, or simply ate him alive, even if Sun Wukong had great ability, it would be useless. Those banshees who want to commit to Tang Seng are even more incorrigible, paying too much attention to the form, insisting on what kind of marriage ceremony, pretending to be a lady, and fantasizing about raising their eyebrows and growing old together. Raw rice was cooked on the spot, and the golden body was broken, and it was seen what tricks he Tang Seng had. If he can't think of it, he will eat him, wouldn't he kill two birds with one stone?!

The second is that the monster is too greedy. The monsters know that they can live forever by eating a bite of Tang Seng meat, but they always want to eat the whole Tang Seng. This is not enough, but also to make a full Han banquet, in a vain attempt to catch the Monkey King Zhu Bajiesha monk and fill the table. Zhu Bajie and Sha Monk are easy to catch, but Sun Wukong is not so easy to catch. The lion king, elephant king and eagle king of Lion Camel Mountain are extraordinary, but they sent the four Tang monks and apprentices to the steamer together, and they were about to waft out the smell of meat. If these three monsters catch Tang Seng, Zhu Bajie and Sha Seng, they will start eating, no matter how Sun Wukong scolds outside the cave, they will eat it. However, the leopard knew some strategies, and after catching Tang Seng, he used a tree and a stone to turn into Tang Seng's head, saying that Tang Seng had been eaten by him, and Sun Wukong was almost fooled. Because they were afraid of wolves and tigers, all the monsters drooled in vain.

The third is that the monster is too righteous. After some monsters catch Tang Seng, they also invite relatives and friends to enjoy it. The nephew of the Dragon King of the East China Sea had to invite his uncle to eat Tang monk meat, and he didn't want to be overheard by Sun Wukong, so he went to the Dragon King to complain, and was arrested by the prince's cousin sent by his uncle.
