Chapter 64: Diagon Alley Day Trip
The two gentlemen began to haggle over the list, and Draco looked at the items on sale as he pleased, as he approached Harry's hideout.
Harry's heart lifted, he didn't want to be so embarrassed.
Thankfully, Draco paused to study a long noose, and then read the sign on a string of sumptuous opal necklaces next to him: "Beware: don't touch, you've been spelledโyou've taken the lives of nineteen Muggles." โ
Draco turned and saw the cupboard. He stepped forward and tried to reach for the doorknob. Just then, "It's done," Mr. Malfoy said at the counter, "Come here, Draco!"
Draco turned and walked away, Harco wiped his forehead with the sleeve of his shirt, if he saw himself, he would probably laugh at himself, right?
"Goodbye, Mr. Borgin, I'll wait for you at home tomorrow to pick up the goods. โ
As soon as the door shut, Mr. Borgin put away his flattering tone. "Good-bye, Mr. Malfoy, if those legends are true, you have sold me less than half of what you have in your house. โ
Mr. Borgin muttered indignantly and went into the back room. Harry waited a moment, still afraid that Mr. Borgin would come out again.
Then, as quietly as he could, he slipped out of the closet, past the glass counters, and out of the door.
"He's scared," said Mr. Weasley, solemnly and satisfied, after hearing Harry's story, "oh, I'd love to catch Lucius Malfoy's evidence." โ
Mr. Weasley was in a good mood now, and felt that it must be his own work, and he was not at all embarrassed to eavesdrop on the children.
"Shut up, Arthur!" Lady Weasley glared at him, snapping out at him, apparently the big man was still angry.
At this time, they also approached the gates of Gringotts, and a leprechaun bent down to lead them into the bank.
Looking at the group of goblins in suits, Rolf struggled to control himself and not let Voldemort's thoughts control him.
"Be careful, that family is not easy to mess with, don't bite your gnawing bones. Watching Mrs. Weasley, who was like a lioness, continue to educate herself, poor Mr. Weasley had to shut up.
Now is not the time to refute her, or she may be punished more severely when she returns home.
Thankfully, their attention was quickly diverted, as he saw Hermione's parents cramped around the counter across the marble hall, waiting for Hermione to introduce them.
"Ah, you are Muggles!" said Mr. Weasley happily:
"We've got to have a drink! What's that one you're holding? Oh, you're exchanging Muggle currency. Molly, look!" he said, excitedly pointing to the ten-pound bill in Mr. Granger's hand.
"I'll see you here in a moment. Ron told Hermione and Rolf that the Weasleys and Harry were led by another Gringotts leprechaun to their underground vault.
And Rolf had the Galleon that his grandmother had given him in advance, so he obviously didn't have to go underground to withdraw the money, so he could just go out and wait for Malfoy to come and find him.
When the people who had withdrawn the money returned, they parted on the marble steps outside the bank. Percy muttered about buying a new quill pen, and Mrs. Weasley and Ginny were going to a store that sold old robes.
Mr. Weasley insisted on taking the Granger family to the Leaky Cauldron for a drink.
"Meet at the Blotted bookstore in an hour to buy you textbooks. Mrs. Weasley confessed as she took Ginny and left.
"Don't go to Tumbledown Alley!" Before she could finish shouting at her twin brother's back, a few red hairs scattered separately.
At the Jumping and Frolicking Magic Joke Shop, the twins bump into their friend Lee Jordan and say goodbye to Rolf and the others to go and buy some "Dr. Labor's Auto-Ignition, Water-Blossoming Magical Fireworks" in large quantities.
"Let's go buy ice cream, do you want to come along?" Hermione invited everyone after the twins left, and Rolf naturally wouldn't refuse the temptation of dessert.
In a thrift store filled with tattered wands, rickety copper scales, and drug-stained old cloaks, they find Percy concentrating on a very boring book, How Prefects Gain Power.
"The prefects of Hogwarts and their careers since they left school," Ron read aloud the note on the back cover, "sounds quite appealing. โ
"Go away. Percy said angrily.
"Of course, Percy is ambitious, he's all planned, he's going to be Minister of Magic," Ron whispered to his friends as they left Percy.
"I'm telling you, he's been very unusual lately. A few days before you came, he got his exam results, twelve O.W.Ls certificates, and I didn't see how proud he was. โ
"O.W.Ls stands for Ordinary Wizard Level Exam. Seeing Harry's puzzled expression, Hermione explained.
"That's right, Bill has had twelve, too, and if I'm not careful, there might be another boys' student council president in the house. Ron whispered.
Rolf almost laughed out loud when he heard this, Percy obviously wanted to receive Penelo's reply more than the twelve O.W.Ls certificates, right?
With four large strawberry peanut butter ice creams in hand, a few people wandered the alleys with ice cream in their hands, browsing the various shop windows, and preparing to meet Mrs. Weasley at the Blotted Bookstore.
Ron stared wistfully at the full Chadri artillery uniforms displayed in the Quidditch boutique window, and didn't withdraw his gaze until Hermione pulled them to a nearby shop to buy ink and parchment.
Perhaps, this year, Ron's Christmas present could give him a Chadri artillery jersey?
As they wandered around, they found that there were far more people going to the bookstore, and Rolf saw a large crowd of people crowding outside the store, and they all wanted to squeeze inside.
A large banner was also pulled up outside the bookstore: Gilderoy Lockhart signed his autobiography "I Can Magic" for sale, 12:30-4:30 p.m. today.
"We can meet him face to face!" Hermione cried out, looking at the puzzled eyes of several people, Hermione explained, "I mean, almost all the books on this year's list are written by him!"
The majority of the crowd seemed to be witches of Mrs. Weasley's age. A weary wizard stood in the doorway and said:
"Ladies and gentlemen, be quiet! Don't crowd it! Beware of books!" the witches reminded Rolf of the fan economy he had heard of in his previous life.
