Chapter 2: The Ollivanders Wand Shop
Piles of gold gallons, silver sicos, and copper nat covered the entire floor of the vault, and all kinds of rubies, sapphires, and gold and silver objects were piled up there at will, showing the wealth and heritage of the Aaron family everywhere. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. ļ½ļ½ļ½Uļ½Eć ļ½ļ½ļ½ļ½
Anticipating that it would cost a lot of money, Al took out his money bag and didn't leave the vault until he filled a bag full of gold gallons and returned to the surface.
Ah Fu had been waiting in the living room for a long time, and after seeing that Al had finished preparing, he said a few more words: "Little master, please take my hand and close your eyes, remember that no matter what happens, you must not let go of your hand." ā
Al nodded, then grabbed one of Afu's withered hands and closed his eyes tightly.
Just in the next second, Al felt his body and the space around him twist for a while, as if something was constantly pulling him, but before he could react, a noisy sound suddenly came from all around, and then Ah Fu's slow voice also came from his ears.
"Okay, little master, open your eyes, we're already in place. ā
Al opened his eyes to find himself in a cobblestone street that meandered with no end in sight, lined with countless magical shops filled with strange goods.
The cries of countless vendors and the bargaining of customers, as well as the cacophony of wizards coming and going in the streets, make the whole street seem lively.
This is Diagon Alley, the busiest street in the British wizarding world!
In the nearest pharmacy next to Al, the shopkeeper with the face of a profiteer was shouting at his goods, and he was startled when he saw Al's sudden appearance, and then cursed, "Hey boy!
Ignoring the shopkeeper, Al excitedly said to Ah Fu: "This trick is so convenient, I must learn it!"
House-elves are very restrained and cautious in crowded places, and so is Ah Fu, who first curled up slightly, and then said in a somewhat unnatural tone: "Little master, phantom shifting is a very dangerous spell, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Magic, only wizards who are at least seventeen years old can learn illusion shifting. ā
Al let out a disappointed "hey", but he didn't care, it's not that he can't learn, it's just that he can learn a few years later.
"Okay, so where should we go first?"
Ah Fu stretched out his somewhat dry hand and pointed to a shop not far ahead, and he said, "That's the Ollivanders wand shop, and that's the only one in Diagon Alley that sells wands." ā
The wand was what Al was most dreaming of at this time.
Al and Afu walked to the front of Ollivander's wand shop, and found it small and broken, with a gold sign on the door that read: Ollivander: A well-made wand since 382 BC.
Ah Fu whispered on the side: "The Ollivanders family has been in the wand business for generations, and their wand is the best in the whole of Britain. ā
Al nodded, and through the large glass of the window, he could clearly see a solitary wand on a faded purple cushion.
When he walked into the Ollivander shop, the first thing Al saw was the store, which was almost a ceiling-high thousands of narrow cardboard boxes, and Al was sure that each box should contain a wand.
The dust and silence of the shop seem to give the impression that there is an obscure and mysterious magic hidden everywhere.
An old silver-haired man was fiddling with something behind the counter, and when he heard the noise, he turned his head to look at Al.
"Good morning sir, I would like to buy a wand. ā
The old man had large, light-colored eyes, but strangely enough, in this somewhat dim shop, his eyes were like two shining moons.
The old man smiled slightly, and then kept looking Al up and down with his eyes.
"Of course, every wizard comes here for the same purpose, doesn't it?"
The old man walked up to Al, and he smiled and said, "I'm the owner of this shop, you can call me Ollivander, what do you call me?"
"My name is Al, Al Aaron. ā
Ollivander showed a look of sudden realization, and then he said: "Oh, no wonder I look so familiar with you, it turns out that you are a child of the Aaronic family, sorry, I really regret what happened to your parents." ā
Al looked at Ollivander suspiciously, and he asked, "What? Do you know my father's parents?"
Ollivander patted Al on the shoulder, and he said, "Of course I know them, and I am still very good friends with your grandfather, and I was sad for a long time when I learned that your grandfather died. ā
Ollivander went to the cabinet next to him and took out a long, narrow box from inside.
"Well, I still remember very well how your parents looked when they first came to buy wands, and it all seemed as if it happened yesterday. ā
Ollivander walked back to Al, took a delicate wand from the box, and handed it to Al.
"Come on, try this one, eleven inches long, made of oak, and it's a good wand. ā
Al took the wand, but he didn't know what to do next, so he tried to wave it in his hand.
A gust of air emanated from the tip of the wand, like a light breeze blowing.
Ollivander shook his head and took his wand back.
"You know, I don't think it's the wizard who chooses the wand, it's the wand that chooses the wizard, and obviously this wand isn't for you. ā
"Every Ollivanders wand has a super magical substance, which is also the essence of it, I make the wand out of the tail feathers of the phoenix, the scales of the dragon and the mane of the unicorn, because there is no phoenix, dragon and unicorn in this world, so every Ollivanders wand is unique. ā
"If you choose the right wand, you'll be able to do more with less, and if you're using someone else's wand, you'll probably be able to do more with less. ā
Only then did Al realize that a wand actually contained these profound things.
Ollivander brought several more boxes, and he opened the lid of one of them and placed the wand inside into Al's hand.
"Let's try this one again, it's made of beech wood and basilisk nerves, it's nine inches long, it's very good. ā
This time, Al had just taken the wand in his hand when Ollivander had already drawn it back.
"No, no, it doesn't look like this one will work, let's try this one again, holly wood, phoenix feathers, very soft. ā
Al continued to try one after another, until the wand boxes he had tried were piling up higher and higher beneath his feet, and he couldn't find a wand that would work for him.
Al didn't know what kind of wand would work for him, but it seemed that the more wands he tried, the happier Ollivander became.
