In addition to this, Mencius also had objections to the "festival burial" of the Mohists.

Mencius once gave an example to the Mohist scholar Yi Zhi, saying:

"If there is a person in the world who does not bury his relatives, and if his relatives die, they will be entrusted to him."

In ancient times, there were cases where people did not bury their parents well, and when their parents died, they threw their bodies into the ravine.

But a few days later, when they passed through the ravine, they found that the bodies of their parents had been eaten by foxes, and flies and mosquitoes were everywhere.

After seeing this horrific scene, they all sweated profusely and closed their eyes, so they reburied their parents.

Why this change? It is because they feel guilty in their hearts, no one can watch their parents' bodies being so destroyed and unshaken, this is human nature.

Mencius warned Mojia Yizi that people are born to love their parents, and this kind of love for parents is different, and your undifferentiated love, even after the death of your parents, is against human nature and is absolutely wrong.
