1. The external action of static work

Taoist cultivation, in the final analysis, is to cultivate the inner essence, qi, and spirit of the three treasures. Therefore, the external posture is not important. It is the greatest principle to be able to achieve an upright, comfortable and natural head.

It is also possible to sit down, stand or lie down, or to walk. The main points of each pose are as follows:

Sitting, you can sit flat on the stool, the calves are perpendicular to the ground, or crossed, you can also sit cross-legged on the bed, those who have difficulty sitting can first put a pillow under the seat, fold your hands, hold your thumbs together into the shape of a Taiji diagram, put it on the dantian, or touch your knees.

Standing, standing naturally, with your knees slightly bent, your hands stacked on your dantian, or hanging down to your sides.

Lying on the side, one hand bends the humeral pillow, the thumb and index finger are separated, and the ears are placed at the tiger's mouth to open the ear hole; the other hand is placed on the crotch, or placed on the dantian; the legs are also in a posture of stretching and bending, which is just the opposite of the two hands.

When walking, you should choose a quiet place with few people, a park or a larger courtyard, where there are no other disturbances, and the road is relatively flat. Walk slowly, like floating clouds. When walking, you can use the breathing method of meditation, but don't close your eyes.

After choosing a posture to do well, start practicing. For external movements, the main points of practice are as follows:

(1) Full body relaxation, no matter what posture you take, you must relax the whole body. This relaxation is not a soft ball, it is necessary to keep the head and spine upright, so as to facilitate the smooth flow of meridians, but also do not become stiff and stiff, which is not conducive to relaxation and will also hinder the smooth flow of meridians. The relaxation approach first requires the shoulders to sink. Ordinary people are usually physically and mentally nervous and unaware, and their movements do not meet the requirements of relaxation; now when we do Kung Fu, we first adjust our movements, and we will naturally be able to enter a state of relaxation.

(2) The eyes are draped, and the curtain is slightly closed. Why do you need to close your eyes slightly, because when you open your eyes, it is easy to breed distracting thoughts, and if you close them all, it is easy to fall asleep, which is not conducive to practice. The mantra for the time of micro-closure is "open three and close seven", that is, open three points and close seven points. In the past, the specific method was passed down orally, and in this case, it is clearly stated that the eyelids droop, so that you can see what is in front of you and cannot distinguish it.

(3) The tongue is on the top of the palate, and it is called the mouth, which is also called "Saidui" on the Danjing, that is, the mouth is closed with teeth. The practice of topping the tongue and palate was also a secret tradition in the past, and the tip of the tongue should be rolled upside down and pushed against the top of the palate with the bottom of the tip of the tongue. Because there are two small sockets on the palate of people, they are called "Tianchi Acupoints", which are through the mud pills, and they are the most likely to leak. Therefore, the practice must be done in the form of a baby breastfeeding.

(4) Natural snort, that is, natural breathing, but avoid stubby and short. As the degree of meditation deepens, the snort should gradually become deep, long, even, fine, and subtle.

(5) Hold the trick with both hands, pinch the trick with both hands, also known as the "meridian decision", at this time, the index finger and thumb of the left hand draw a circle, the thumb of the right hand is placed in the circle, and the 4 fingers of the right hand are placed under the 4 fingers of the left hand from the direction of the thumb, which is the shape of a "Taiji diagram". After a while, the hands feel hot and swollen, which is wonderful, that is, the effect of the two qi being connected. Taoism does not distinguish between men and women.

2. The inner formula of Jinggong

(1) Listening.

The purpose of meditation is to enter into meditation. The meaning of meditation is to calm down the body and mind. In order to achieve the requirements of meditation, it is first necessary to remove all distracting thoughts, which is one of the most crucial principles of the meditation foundation method. But people's thinking habits, the brain is always thinking about problems, even when sleeping, they will dream, and once it stops, it is very difficult to do it. In order to achieve the purpose of meditation, ancient Taoist monks created many methods, such as listening to the qi, sitting and forgetting, keeping one, counting breaths, and so on. In comparison, among the "heart fasting" mentioned by the Taoist Zhuangzi, the "listening to qi" method is the best.

The so-called "listening to the breath" is to listen to one's own breath. As we said earlier, meditation requires natural breathing. The way to listen is to listen with both ears, that is, to get rid of all external interference, such as entering the realm of silence, to listen to your own breath. Initially, only listen with your ears and do not add any thoughts.

Note: The so-called "listening" requires both ears to listen inward, as if listening to the sound of breathing in and out. But breathing in and out, it was supposed to be silent. The meaning of "listening to the breath" is to ask the person to concentrate on meditation, not to die to guard his ears, nor to listen to the sound of breathing. The meaning of "listening" is to concentrate on the mind, as long as you follow the route of exhaling and breathing, and slowly do it as if listening without listening, this is right. As for the speed and slowness, thickness, depth, and length of breathing, it should be changed naturally, and should not be forcibly controlled by the mind.

After hearing this, my heart is interdependent, my distracting thoughts are gone, and even my breath seems to be gone, and I gradually reach the realm of "meditation".

(2) Sightseeing.

The method of "sightseeing" is a secret Taoist cultivation method, which was kept secret in the past, and was passed down from master to apprentice. The role of sightseeing is to refine nature. Our human nature, originally a light of nothingness, came from the universe before the next life. Therefore, at this time, the fundamental method of refining nature is called sexual work. Some people think that the Taoist "sexual" skill is the truth, and that without kung fu, it is because the master has not taught the sexual skill.

The root of sex lies in the middle of the eyebrows. This trick comes from before our next life, so it is called "ancestral knot". Start by meditating for a while, using the "listening" method mentioned earlier. After the body and mind are quiet, they will stop before the "ancestral aperture". This "before the ancestral aperture" is not in the body, nor is it outside the body, it is about an inch and a half in front of the eyes.

Note: The method of "contemplating the ancestors" is to gather one's own elemental nature. When the meta-nature gathers, it will naturally see the light. However, this realm is natural and must not be pursued, and if it is pursued, it will also see the light, but it is an illusion, not a real nature. Many people who practice qigong often enter the demon realm and do not consciously notice it, which is really a small difference and a thousand miles away. It is necessary to use the meaning of "if there is nothing, it seems to be seen but not seen", between the unintentional and the intentional, not the intentional, and not the unintentional. Naturally, that's right.

If the mind is slightly placed on the "ancestral aperture", you will be able to appear your own sexual light. At first, it seems to come from the outside, and after discovering it, at this time, it is slightly collected by the mind, and it is condensed, that is, it is illuminated in the white light with the intention, which is the work of cohesion; then it gradually condenses from the point into a piece, and the piece comes from the outside, and returns from the outside, and slowly gathers; and then it gathers and scatters from time to time, and it is difficult to fix; if ignorance finally becomes a piece, and there is no fluctuation, so the true nature gathers, and we have entered the great meditation.

Sex alone is expressed, and sightseeing is the gathering and dispersion of arrogance. Light dispersion is scattering, light concentration is gathering, light is fixed, light is full, light circularity is round. Patriarch Wang Chongyang originally traced its shape and said: "Round Tuotuo, the light is scorching." "The round one means that it has no irregular shapes, and the burning one means that it has no black holes, so that it can reach the highest state of "sexual light*". Entering this realm, life and death can be made. But if you don't go deep into Da Meditation and have extremely high merits, you can't achieve it.

Although the effort of sightseeing is "viewing" but not actually viewing, everything is natural. To practice this skill, it is necessary to gradually move from small light to large light, from weak to strong, from fluctuating emu to light, and from patches to light. There are also people who have practiced for many days, but their eyes are dark, and they have never seen the light, so they should not pursue it.

Note: The above is the way of "listening" and "sightseeing". Although it seems to be promising, in fact it is inaction, and in the midst of inaction, there is omnipotence. Although it is said to be listening, it is not listening, and although it is said to be sightseeing, it is actually not watching. Listen to the breath without breath, listen to nothing, sightseeing without light, light and see without light. The breathless breath is called the true breath, and the light without light is called the true light. From this, I realized the truth and quietness.

The method of "sightseeing" is also called "returning to the light" in ancient Taoist books, and the method of listening to breathing is also called "pranayama" in ancient Taoist books. Therefore, the Jinggong practice method mentioned in this article was also called "pranayama of the light" by the ancients.

"Qiu Zu's Secret Legend of the Great Dan Zhizhi" discusses "Huiguang Pranayama" and says: "Its method is from the corners of the two eyes to collect the heart, to receive the middle of the two eyes, with one body and mind, all here, the so-called 'Qiankun and the earth are collected together' is also."

The method of returning to the light has another meaning. It is after sightseeing, it is necessary to bring this light into the lower dantian, and further do the kung fu of refining qi, which needs to be combined with the second step of the foundation building exercise, the practice of tuna, and then discussed in the tuna method.

3. Meditation and meditation

The key to meditation is to enter meditation, and the key to meditation is to stop thinking. Stopping thoughts is to get rid of distracting thoughts in the mind, and then to do meditation with all your heart. There are often people who don't realize that they have distracting thoughts in their minds, and when they meditate, all kinds of thoughts come to their minds. Only through the method of meditation and meditation to get rid of distracting thoughts can it be possible to do meditation well.
