Chapter 2: The Dirty Sorting Hat

The little wizards pushed and shoved, and got off the train in twos and threes.

A lamp flickered above, and it turned out that Hagrid, who was of giant blood, had come over, and he had a tall physique.

"First-year freshmen, first-year freshmen come with me, here, hurry up."

Hagrid greeted Harry and led the group down a rough path.

It was dark, surrounded by dense jungle, and the weather was a little cold.

Shelley was so curious that she couldn't wait to see the beautiful castle.

"Hermione, let's keep up," Shelley tugged at Hermione's small hand, "Don't look for the toad yet." ”

Hermione was held by Shelley's hand and walked cautiously—she was a little reluctant to be held by Shelley—and the freshmen were not walking steadily, with only Hagrid's lamp in front of them providing some light in the darkness.

"Fluorescent flicker!" Shelley drew his wand and lit it up, revealing Hermione's reddened face.

Rounding a corner, you will be greeted by an incomparably magnificent scene. In the dark of night, the surface of the lake sparkles and reflects the light of the castle. It is a pretty castle, towering and spired, and has stood there for thousands of years, where the magic of magic shines.

Everyone was stunned, and Hermione quietly withdrew the hand that was being held, without a trace.

Shelley smiled at her, and Hermione was a little embarrassed.

"There are only four people on each boat." Hagrid said to everyone.

Only then did the freshmen take their eyes off the castle and move to the small boat by the lake, and everyone got on the boat one after another.

Shelley and Hermione, along with Neville, who lost his toad, sit in a small boat with another girl they don't know.

Neville is still in a state of despair.

"Maybe the toad will show up in a moment, I mean maybe your toad is hiding in a boat somewhere." Shelley said, his fingertips gently brushing the water, rippling and disturbing the reflection of the lake.

I don't know where the giant squid is hiding in the lake.

The Great Lake of Hogwarts shelters many magical animals that live in the water, and there are countless magical animals living in it.

In the beautiful dream scene, Shelley is infatuated.

"Hermione, are you looking forward to it?"

"What to expect? Oh, of course, we're coming. Hermione said, looking ahead, the shadow of the castle reflected in her eyes.

......

"Hey, look, is this your toad?" Hagrid found the toad while inspecting the empty ship.

"Thank goodness." Neville clutched the toad in his arms in surprise and shouted loudly.

"Look, surprises are always ahead." Shelley said with a smile.

......

A tall, dark-haired witch with a stern look, dressed in emerald robes, takes Hagrid's new life. She is Professor McGonagall.

"I've heard that the Sorting House is an extremely dangerous ritual."

"yes, I asked my dad and he didn't tell me anything." A trembling little wizard made an exaggerated gesture, "His face was terrible. ”

"Merlin!" The little wizards exclaimed again and again.

Hermione was muttering words, reciting the incantations she had learned at a rapid pace, not sure which one to use.

Shelley pouted, concealing the sorting ceremony had long been a Hogwarts tradition, and he remembered that it seemed that all he needed was to wear a hat and there was no danger.

Professor McGonagall went on to introduce the four major houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. During their time at Hogwarts, their outstanding performance earned them extra points for their house, while breaking the rules would result in a loss of points. At the end of the year, the house with the highest score wins the House Cup and brings glory to their house.

They came to a palatial room with four large long tables, each representing a college.

Shelley was startled by the thousands of burning candles that floated in the air and lit up the entire restaurant.

"There are spells cast here, and they look like the sky outside, as I read about in Hogwarts, a piece of school history." Hermione, who was walking next to Shelley, whispered. "I've read about it, too." Shelley replied.

It's hard to believe that there is a ceiling on it, and it's hard to believe that the roof of the restaurant isn't open-air. The night sky is exceptionally clear, and the stars shine brighter than in previous lives.

Professor McGonagall gently placed a four-legged stool in front of the first-year freshman, and placed a wizard's hat on the stool. The hat was patched, worn out, and dirty. Shelley thought about himself wearing this hat with disgust.

Everyone was staring at the hat, and the restaurant was silent.

At this point, the hat began to twist, and its mouth was wide open.

"You may think I'm not pretty,

But don't judge people by their appearance,

If you can find a hat smarter than mine,

I can eat myself.

You can make your bowler hat jet black and shiny,

Make your high-capped caps smooth and crisp,

I'm a Hogwarts test hat,

Naturally, they are taller than your hats.

Any thought hidden in your mind,

can't hide from the golden eyes of the magic hat,

Put it on and try it, and I'll tell you,

Which college should you be assigned to?

You may belong to Gryffindor,

There is bravery buried in the bottom of my heart,

Their boldness, their courage and their boldness,

Make Gryffindor outstanding;

You may belong to Hufflepuff,

The people there are upright and faithful,

Hufflepuff students are stoic and honest,

Not afraid of hard labor;

If you are shrewd,

Perhaps the old Ravenclaw will enter wisdom,

Those who are wise and learned,

There will always be their fellow believers;

Maybe you'll get into Slytherin,

Maybe you make sincere friends here,

But those who are cunning and insidious will stop at nothing,

to achieve their purpose.

Come put me on! Don't be afraid!

Don't panic!

In my hands (even though I don't even have a hand)

You are absolutely safe

Because I'm a thinking hat! ”

"Hannah Abbott!" Professor McGonagall held a roll of parchment in her hand.

Sure enough, the iron-beaten Hannah Abbott, Shelley couldn't help but complain in his heart.

"Hufflepuff!" The hat shouted, and to the applause Hannah walked to the table to the right, which belonged to Hufflepuff.

Shelley watched as the little wizards found their tables one by one, and suddenly became nervous.

"Hermione Granger!" Shelley listened carefully.

Hermione almost ran to the stool and hurriedly buttoned her hat to her head.

What a hurried little girl!

"Gryffindor!" The hat shouted. Ron snorted, probably because he hadn't had a good time with Hermione before.

Shelley liked Hermione's personality.

"Shelley Joyce!" Shelley heard Professor McGonagall call his name and ran to the stool as fast as she could.

Just as the Sorting Hat was about to buckle up to his head to obscure his view, he saw Hermione look over.

Shelley heard a small voice ringing in her ears.

"Well, it's hard, it's very hard. Do you have any thoughts on that witch just now? Interesting......"

"You haven't bathed in a thousand years, and you're dirty." Shelley hurriedly interrupted.

"I'm the smartest Sorting Hat! I took a bath hundreds of years ago, how can you make unwarranted accusations? ...... Do you still know Azkaban? Why, do you want to go there? ”

"No, no, no, Gryffindor, Gryffindor, Gryffindor......"

"Don't read it, it's okay." The Sorting Hat twisted and twisted above his head: "The Great Sorting Hat will forgive you for once, then ......"

"Gryffindor!" There was a round of applause, and under the gaze of hundreds of people, Shelley walked to the Gryffindor table and breathed a sigh of relief.

The gold platter and goblets on the table glittered, and Shelley sat down beside Hermione.

"We're going to be students at one academy from now on!" Shelley whispered to Hermione.

"Lots of advice." Hermione gave a rare look of twitching, cautiously looking into Shelley's piercing eyes.

"Potter, is she calling Potter?" The voice of the words suddenly rang out.

"Is that Harry Potter?" The students were agitated and talking, and Harry put on his hat.

After some time, the Sorting Hat shouted, "Gryffindor! ”

The people of Gryffindor cheered, and the Weasley twin brother shouted, "We've got Potter!" We've got Potter! ”

Hermione looked curiously, and Shelley and Hermione applauded.

"Welcome!" The current Headmaster of Hogwarts, the greatest White Wizard, Dumbledore, said, "Welcome to Hogwarts to start the new school year! Before the banquet begins, I would like to say a few words. That's it: stupid! Cry! Residue! Wring! ”

"Thank you!"

"It's really just a few words." Shelley raised an eyebrow.

Hermione asked curiously, "Do you know what these words mean?" ”

"Who knows?"

Everyone enjoyed dinner, the ghosts flew around, and Shelley and Hermione chatted happily, but chatting turned into textbook knowledge.

"Oops!" Harry covered his forehead with one hand.

"What's wrong?" Percy asked.

"Nothing—nothing." ......

Shelley glanced at Snape's oily hair, then at the back of Quirrell's head, and remained silent.

"So it's easier to start with small objects, right?"

"Uh-huh, Hermione." Shelley stopped paying attention to Harry and continued to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere......

"Oh, now that everyone is full and drunk, I want to say a few more words to everyone. At the beginning of the semester, I would like to make a few points to note with you. ”

"First-year students are aware that the woods on campus are off-limits to students. Some of our old classmates should also remember this. ”

Dumbledore's glittering gaze swept toward the Weasley brothers.

"Also, Mr. Filch, the administrator, wants me to remind everyone not to do magic in the hallways between classes."

"The Quidditch player review will take place in the second week of the term. If you are interested in joining the college team, please contact Mrs. Huo Qi. ”

"Finally, I must tell you that anyone who does not want to suffer an accident or a painful death should not enter the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor."

It's better not to remind you like this! The restless little lions must have thought of sneaking into the hallway on the right side of the fourth floor to find out, Shelley thought.

It was a trap that Dumbledore dug to lure out Voldemort......
