Chapter 21: Fighting for Bragging

The three gargoyles jumped up at the same time, pounced on Rog and Catherine respectively, and Rog faced the swooping gargoyle, clenched the cigar in his mouth, jumped up, and stomped on the gargoyle's head, kicking it to the ground not far away.

He turned around and raised his sword to block the claws of another gargoyle, kicked it away from front of him with a flying kick, and stabbed the gargoyle in the abdomen as he strode forward while it was unstable.

The gargoyle let out a cry of pain, but instead of dying immediately, its body quickly hardened into a solid black statue, and Rog drew his sword outward, but the silver sword was stuck in the hard stone and could not move.

At this time, the gargoyle that had been kicked down pounced again from behind, and Rog decisively let go of the silver sword in his hand, leaned over the gargoyle's claws, grabbed its wings, and slammed it to the ground.

The gargoyle with its wings grabbed could not keep its balance and fell to the ground in a whirl under Rog's vigorous flicking, but it immediately broke free of Rog's grasp and leaped from the ground, waving its thick, long black tail head-on at Rogge.

"I've seen a tail that is more ferocious than yours!"

Rogge leaned back and dodged, the long tail fell straight down from in front of him, Rogge took advantage of the situation to grab the end of the tail, pulled it towards him, and his right hand slashed in the air, only to hear a gargoyle scream, and the thick black tail was cut off by Rogge's bare hands!

"Don't think that with my bare hands, I will lack lethality!"

Rog threw the half-severed tail in his hand to the ground, and saw the gargoyle turn into a black stone statue in its place, and he looked back at Catherine, and found the girl with a long sword in her hand, frantically resisting the gargoyle's blow, stumbling and stumbling.

"Hold on, baby, I'll be right here!"

Rog dropped the severed-tailed gargoyle and turned to walk towards the gargoyle with the silver sword embedded in it, which remained in its state and did not wake up because the sword was always embedded in its wounds, and the wounds could not heal.

"It's time to help, little lazy!" Rog said to the little owl hidden in his hat as he walked over to the gargoyle statue.

The little one reluctantly came out of it and protested, "I wasn't an egg a long time ago!"

"But you're just as lazy!" said Rogge, reaching out and grabbing the hilt of the silver sword that had pierced the gargoyle's body, and said to Lilith, "You should know what to do!"

With that, he let out a roar, and the rubble burst open, and the silver sword was pulled out of the statue, leaving a deep wound.

In just a few seconds, the stone statue shattered by the silver sword quickly recovered, and the gargoyle spread its wings and soared into the sky with a scream.

When it was too late, the little owl suddenly opened its eyes and emitted two rays of light, freezing the gargoyle in mid-air.

"I like to kill monsters that can't resist!"

A smug smile appeared on the corner of Rogge's cigar mouth, and the silver sword light flashed, and the gargoyle's body was split into two pieces from top to bottom, and the broken body turned into cracked rubble, scattered at Rogge's feet.

"This one is mine! I'm going to tell the peregrine falcons, falcons, and magpies in the forest that I've killed a vicious gargoyle!" Before Rogge could speak, the little owl in his head had already taken the lead and shouted triumphantly.

"No problem, we have more than one to kill, you can say that all the gargoyles are killed by you, as long as your little audience believes it!"

Rog turned and walked with his sword and walked towards the severed-tailed gargoyle, whose severed tail had now recovered, and jumped up from the ground and pounced on it again with murderous vigour.

"The second one, are you ready to fight for bragging?" Rogge resolutely faced the gargoyle that pounced, and the little owl peeked out of the brim of his hat with his little head, blinked two big eyes and said, "I'm ready to brag, it's your business to fight!"

"Deal, our cooperation has always been so tacit!"

Rogge waved the silver sword in his hand and jumped up, the little owl's eyes lit up in mid-air to lock the gargoyle, Rogge accompanied by a silver rainbow fell from the sky, and the sword passed through the gargoyle, and when his black boots landed steadily, there was a sound of broken stone scattered behind him.

"It's time to check out our future star, I hope she can withstand it!"

Rogge turned around and walked quickly in Catherine's direction, and suddenly saw a row of shelves in front of him collapse in the distance, he hurried to the collapsed shelves, and saw Catherine standing not far away, and the wings of a gargoyle were faintly visible under the collapsed shelves.

"I didn't expect that!" said Rog as he walked towards Catherine, who, seeing him coming, hurriedly threw away her sword, turned and ran briskly towards him.

Before the two could get closer, the collapsed shelves suddenly cracked, and the gargoyle roared and pounced on Catherine from behind.

Catherine, who heard the roar, looked back and saw the gargoyle coming towards her, and couldn't help but be shocked, closed her eyes and raised the long sword in her hand, desperately facing the monster's buckteeth and claws.

A heavy sensation caused Catherine's sword to fall off, and the trembling girl felt a hand gently tapped her shoulder, and she opened her eyes to see Rogge snuff out the embers of the cigar on the surface of the silver sword, tossing it between the rubble left by the gargoyle.

"You're brave, but it's better to open your eyes next time, although I don't want to say that......" Rogge shrugged and said, "The way you just closed your eyes and cowered was really ugly!"

With that, he strode past Catherine, and the girl looked back at his departing back, and at last breathed a sigh of relief at the severed gargoyle head on the ground.

She hurried to keep up with Rog as he watched as he scavenged the shelves inside the warehouse for useful items: magic food, a map of the Ice Island, and even magic tobacco for its breath-refreshing and mouth-cleansing properties.

When the two of them had prepared the required things, Rog left the warehouse with Catherine and walked in the direction of the Mage Tower.

"Where are we going now?" Feeling that the direction of travel was not right, Catherine asked Rog suspiciously.

"The archmages will soon find a mess of warehouses, and we will soon be caught up if we flee the city of Radiant now, so we will now go to the mage tower, and one will avoid the pursuers, and find the most dangerous but safest place to hide. ”

"Second, we can find out the information, I believe that the Mage Tower will not be ignorant of Alice's whereabouts, they have a comprehensive monitoring of the Ice Island. ”

"As long as we find Alice, we can preemptively find her before the Knights, lest she be scared away by the Knights' gang of thieves!"

Catherine thinks that Rogge's words make sense, so the two go to the vicinity of the Mage Tower, where Rog gives Lilith the rope he brought out of the warehouse and tells her to be tethered to the roof of the house near the Mage Tower, and climbs the roof with Catherine.

"Do you hear that? someone below is shouting, 'There's something going on in the warehouse!'" Rog whispered to Catherine as he crouched on the roof of the house, and the girl saw a group of magicians running briskly in the direction of the warehouse, but no one noticed that they were there.

"Come on, from there, we can climb into the Mage Tower, our little guide has already told me. ”

Rogge walked on the roof with Catherine on his waist, and walked along the roof to a window on the third floor of the Mage Tower, and through the window he got into the Mage Tower.

In front of the two of them was a circular corridor, on the left hand side was a spiral staircase leading to the top, and Rog instructed the little owl to find out the whereabouts of Antonio and the others to see if he could overhear Alice's news, and he took Catherine up the stairs to the fourth floor of the Mage Tower.

In the doorway of a room facing the stairs, Rog saw a wooden sign hanging on the door, which read: Grand Master, Konstantin.

He turned back to Catherine and said, "We're lucky, I think there might be something of value in the Grand Master's room. ”

Rog pushed the door and found it unlocked, and he and Catherine walked into the candlelit study and went to the desk to check the letters on the table.

Suddenly, a strange sound came to Rog's ears from the window, and a moment later, the window of the study was suddenly pushed open, and a black shadow drifted in from the window with a strange gust of wind and landed in the empty room.
