Chapter 81: The Return Trip
Here Andrey and I have gone deep into the heart of Central Europe, across the border, Poland, then Austria, Germany, Switzerland. Moscow is already far from us.
Just as the Brest Fortress was a strong fortress and a natural barrier for me to continue my westward journey. This is where our original plan begins. However, thinking about the place that could be reached by plane in an hour, I still couldn't help but ask Andrei if he could go home and have a look? Andrei smiled and said that if I wanted to go, he could take me to see it.
To be honest, I don't think Andre will ever seem to understand why I don't want to cross that border. Naturally, he didn't understand, because further west, that was his territory, with a language, environment, and even acquaintances that he was familiar with.
And for me, the existence of Brest is really too realistic, it is really so insurmountable. This is the edge of my territory. I will only be free if I remain in my own territory. The straight-line distance to Zurich may be much closer than Moscow, but in my mind their distance is a different scale.
Andrei said with a smile, that is, you think I'm very close to home! My country is separated from this by two countries. After listening to Andrei's words, it suddenly occurred to me that Russia is really a big country, and the Soviet Union before it was even more of a superpower. Without living in such a country, it seems difficult for you to imagine the vastness of their country.
Taking the train back to Moscow was what I insisted on. I love Russian trains so much, it has accompanied so many dream trips. There are not many train passengers in Russia, the attendants are very attentive, the bedding is very clean, and I also like the nostalgic teacups with silver cup holders on the train.
Everything I liked and knew before in the double box!
However, I overlooked one thing, and that was that Andrei was not an ordinary passenger. He told me he wasn't used to sleeping in two beds with me. I told him it wasn't a bed, it was a sleeper! He said I really didn't need to sleep in a whole sleeper when I was so skinny. I told him it was a public place and he had to watch what he said and did. He said he couldn't sleep on his own. You can't just sit in Moscow with your eyes open! I said, "Whoever made you sit, you can lie down!" Andre stopped talking, he seemed to think that he didn't have any advantage in language, but I really couldn't push him down with my physical strength. We hugged each other and slept all night.
In the morning, the train was almost arriving in Moscow, and Andrei, after washing up, came back and looked at his untouched bunk and said, "We have wasted a train ticket."
