Chapter 402: The Legend of Angara
Judging from the name of the company I joined - "Angara" Science and Technology Cultural Construction Economic and Trade Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., I guess that the development of this company is inseparable from the Baikal region of Russia.
The Angara River flows from Lake Baikal through the southern part of the Central Siberian Plateau and empties into the Yenisei River near the village of Strelka.
"Angara" reminds me of the beautiful legend told to us by our foreign teacher when I was a university in China: a long time ago, there lived a warrior named Baikal by the lake, and there was a beautiful daughter named Angara under his knees. Baikal loved his daughter very much, and he was very strict with her, not allowing her to step out of the house.
One day, a seagull flew from afar and told Angara that there was a young man named Yenisei who was very industrious and brave, and Angara's affection was spontaneous. When Baikal learned of this, he categorically refused to allow it, and wanted to marry his daughter to a young man nearby. Angara had no choice but to run away from home while his father was asleep.
Baikal woke up from a deep slumber and could not catch up with him, so he picked up a stone and threw it in the direction of his daughter's escape, thinking that he would block her way, but her daughter had gone far and threw herself into the arms of the Yenisei as she wished. The boulder has been standing in the middle of the lake ever since.
I remember the foreign teacher saying that because the river is so fast, people describe it as the eagerness to run to the arms of their lovers.
It didn't take long for my guess to be confirmed. The president of our group, Mr. Su, is indeed a builder in the Baikal region. The main business of our group is related to Russia.
One day, close to noon, I was studying the information given to me by Mr. Liu at my workstation, and I saw Xiaobai running around and seemed to be very busy. After a while, I heard someone talking in the hallway, and they came to our office door.
I saw Mr. Wang push open the door and invite someone in with a smile on his face, who didn't go inside, but just glanced at our office. I heard him say:
- "Translator again?" ”
- "This is our new translation. Linna, this is Mr. Su, the chairman of our company. Mr. Wang said
- "Hello, Chairman! I stood up and said.
- "Ah, good, good ......" Mr. Su agreed, didn't pay much attention to me, turned around and went out to continue to inspect other offices.
Listen as they go away.
I asked Xiaobai, does Mr. Su often come to the company to inspect?
Xiaobai said that maybe Mr. Su has been on a business trip for a long time this time, so when he comes back to look around, Mr. Su's time to come to the company is never fixed, and Mr. Wang can't figure out when he will come over. This time, he went to Moscow with Hao Yiyi to participate in the exhibition. It's been more than a month since they've been gone. Mr. Su is back, and it seems that the Hao translator should have also returned.
I asked Xiaobai, does Hao Yi also work with us?
Xiaobai said, yes, she will sit at the workstation in front of you.
Mr. Su is here, why doesn't this Hao translator come to work? I thought to myself.
Mr. Su's return has made our company more lively. The conference room was packed all day. Originally, I was not familiar with the people in the same company, and I really couldn't figure out who were the guests who came, and those who were from our unit.
I thought that Mr. Wang should be the boss of this company, after all, the position of general manager is not in vain. I have the impression that the general manager should be like Sergei, the soul and master of the company. However, I soon discovered that there are so many "totals" in our company! Except for General Manager Wang, what are the other "Total"? I can't figure it out.
In addition to the translation department, finance department, front desk and back office, the rest of the company is the general office.
Later, I learned that these "generals" are shareholders of the company.
In principle, none of these "generals" are under the control of Mr. Wang, on the contrary, they seem to have the right to instruct Mr. Wang. I feel that Mr. Wang's work is more like doing logistics for these CEOs, and she herself seems to have no too specific business to do, at least, I haven't found it yet.
As the name suggests, our group of companies is involved in a wide range of fields. These CEOs all have their own projects in Russia, and from this point I understand why the company needs so many translators.
