Chapter 32: Jack and the "Ghost"
The next morning, Juan was in the lobby and saw Soma facing the security assistant who took over from Jack.
"Rubbish! It's all rubbish! Isn't it just a red code? Can't do something as simple as that?! β
"What's wrong, Soma?" Juan leaned in.
"Let him speak for himself, you, and report the situation to the incoming head of the planet."
The deputy security captain who presided over the work saluted Juan: "Hello FΓΌhrer!" β
"In the service of the Alliance. Say, what's going on? β
"Early this morning, Jack left the Pioneer Station building in a floating buggy, and he took the 'ghost' with him."
"Ghosts? Where do I think I've heard that name? β
A black iron triangle silently appeared in Juan's mind, and in the background, distant mountains twisted in the heat.
Juan shuddered.
"Hell! He took the 'ghost' with him!
"You actually let him take the 'ghost'!!
"How could you let such a dangerous weapon fall into his hands?!
"Oh my God, it's over, it's the end of the world!"
"FΓΌhrer, Your Excellency, please don't worry, the situation is still in our hands."
"Shit! That guy has this weapon, and it's even easier to kill me than it is to kill a chicken! And you're telling me not to worry?! Ha!! β
"Your Excellency, please allow me to explain that Jack can kill chickens with a 'ghost', but there is absolutely no way to kill you with a 'ghost'.
"Even when you're standing with a chicken, he can't even kill the chicken."
"I'm talking to you about killing chickens right now?! I mean, do you know how dangerous Jack is right now?! β
"Jack shouldn't be in danger now, with the 'ghost' in hand, those natives can't threaten him."
"You, you, do you understand human speech? Did I mean that? I'm going to be by you! β
"Calm down, Juan, don't get excited, these security guards have been with the natives all year round, and their brains are really not very bright.
"But I think there's a reason why he said that Jack couldn't kill you with a 'ghost'."
"Yes, stationmaster, we have entered the information of all the humans on the planet into the 'ghost' identification system, and we have set up a command to prohibit firing at these humans.
"This order is the highest level, and it can only be modified by the security department in our building, and Jack can't change it outside."
"Are you sure?" Juan pointed to his fluorescent green hair, "I've dyed my hair, the 'ghost' won't be mistaken, right?" β
"Don't worry, Your Excellency, when you entered the building, the face brushing system didn't recognize you, and neither would the 'ghost'."
Juan immediately ran to the door of the building to brush his face.
He ran out dejectedly and came back with a look of rage.
Then he walked out crying, and walked in laughing.
Juan's neurotic behavior drew the attention of the humanoids in the hall to him.
Several of the two-headed servants began to do the same, laughing and crying, one angry and the other sighing.
They thought it was so funny that they even danced.
Juan didn't have time to pay attention to them, and he covered his eyes, nose, and mouth with his hands, and finally covered them all, revealing only a fluorescent green hair.
But the face probe accurately recognized him every time.
Juan breathed a sigh of relief, and then he complained, "Jack is no longer the captain of the security team, why can he still manipulate the 'ghost'?" β
The deputy security captain said embarrassedly: "Jack's immigration is a bit sudden, we forgot to modify his identification green code in 'Ghost'. β
He then remedied, "But now we've changed Jack's identification green code to a red code."
"And we have set up a no-fly zone within a radius of 10 kilometers, and when the 'ghost' arrives in this area, it will automatically return."
"So Jack is 10 kilometers away from here?"
"Yes, he headed for the Dryad Reservation."
Juan thought of the hanged Dryad Elders.
Looks like the bastard went to the Dryad again.
Juan thought with some concern that with Jack's current anger and the big killer 'Ghost', the Dryad might be wiped out.
I wonder if the queen of the Dryads, Moth Banry, will be in danger?
Just as Juan was thinking this, Moth Banry's voice suddenly appeared in his head: "Don't worry, we're all safe." β
Juan looked back in amazement, a wall blocking his view.
But he could feel that Moth Banry was in that direction, and not far from him.
Juan thought of the idea that Moth Benray had mentioned that the embryo and the milk were sensing each other.
Juan, who was relieved, brought the topic back to Jack: "Jack is breaking the law by doing this, how many years can be sentenced for embezzlement of weapons?" β
Soma said, "According to the law of the Alliance, if you do this on the main star, it will be a death sentence."
"And on the colony planet, it depends on the consequences.
"If the consequences are severe, then there may be a life sentence.
"But if it only pollutes the environment and harms flowers and plants, then the penalty is much lighter.
"If he hires another good lawyer, maybe he can get a suspended sentence and not even have to sit in jail."
"Suppose he exterminates the Dryads, what are the consequences?"
"Didn't you say that polluting the environment will not be punished with a heavy sentence."
"It's not polluting the environment, it's a mass killing, even if the Dryads aren't protected by the laws of the Alliance, but, after all, they're ......"
"I know what you mean, considering that mass killings will inevitably cause collateral harm to small animals such as rats, so he can be convicted by invoking the Animal Protection Act.
"But hunting is allowed on our planet after all, and the opposing party's lawyer may dismiss the charge."
Juan's face was a little ugly.
Soma advised: "It's not that I won't help you, but now that the pioneer station has not been revoked, if I convict Jack, then the Autonomous Council will be automatically dissolved due to the lack of legal numbers, and our plan will be over."
"So please bear with me for a while, and when I leave on board the Soyuz spacecraft, you will officially take office.
"At that time, as the head of this planet, you could convict Jack of any crime, of course, provided that it did not conflict with the laws of the Alliance."
"But how do I know that the laws I make don't violate the laws of the Union?"
"Didn't you read the information I packed and sent to you? It contains all the laws of the Union. β
"Will it take a lifetime to read that thing?"
"Why don't you find a lawyer and ask."
"But I don't know any lawyers."
"Let me introduce you to one, although he is best at divorce, but he also knows a little bit about other things, but the fee is quite expensive, and it is billed by the second."
A vCard was sent to Juan's brain chip.
"Well, I'll look for him if I need to."
Juan glanced at the price of 100 Alliance Coins per second on his business card and gave up on the contact.
