Chapter 39 The Board of Trustees
There was a fine snow around Hogwarts, and it was scattered, adding a bit of a home-like atmosphere to the young wizards who lined up on the white lawn.
The Christmas holidays have finally arrived!
The young wizards happily carried their bags to the main entrance of the castle, took a carriage to Hogsmeade Station, and then took the same Hogwarts Express to King's Cross Station as they had arrived.
Harry sat in his bedroom in the Gryffindor Tower, looking out of the window next to his bed and seeing his classmates winding towards the carriage, and a little envy rose in his heart.
"Whew-whew-"
There was a snoring sound in the dormitory. Harry turned his head to look at Ron, who was still asleep.
A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, and he suddenly felt that those little wizards who came home for Christmas had nothing to envy.
Because Hogwarts is his home, he's going to be at home for Christmas this year!
Suddenly, a hint of surprise welled up in Harry's eyesβ
On the snowflake-covered lawn, he saw a little wizard walking back against the crowd.
Harry was able to tell that the little wizard was Draco Malfoy, and there was an adult wizard of the same color next to Draco, walking with Draco in the direction of the castle.
β¦β¦
"Draco, are you sure it's a Defence Against the Dark Arts professor who bullied you?"
Walking on the snowy lawn, the wizard with the same hair color as Draco looked at Draco walking next to him and asked.
Draco's father, Lucius Malfoy, had the same long platinum-blond hair as Draco, cold grey eyes, and a luxurious snake-headed cane.
As if guessing what was going to happen next, Draco writhed a little uneasily.
"It's Professor Dracula of Defence Against the Dark Arts." He whispered, "Dad, are you really going to fire him?" β
"Of course, isn't that what you want?" Lucius watched Draco's shrinking performance, and said with hatred, "Draco, you must know that we are the Malfoy family, one of the twenty-eight holy clans, and we must fight back head-on in the face of those who dare to provoke us, so as not to lose the face of the family!" β
"But... But his lectures were really interesting, and he seemed to be very strong, and there were rumors in Hogwarts that he wasn't afraid of the Dark Lord at all......" Draco said hesitantly.
Hearing the words "Dark Lord", the corners of Lucius' eyes jerked.
He had just disposed of the very important journal that the Dark Lord had given him. Although it was not obvious on the surface, in fact he had always been very weak, worried about the comeback of the person who could not be named.
"Listen, Draco, the Dark Lord is dead, we're going to look forward!" Lucius whispered to Draco, also to himself, "Your Defence Against the Dark Arts professor is not afraid of the rumors that the Dark Lord is most likely just false, and even if he is really not afraid, he says that it is only because the Dark Lord is dead that he has inexplicable confidence......"
Draco nodded in understanding.
At this moment, a man wearing a purple turban on his head happened to come over. For some reason, when Lucius met his gaze, he felt a tremor from his soul.
"Good morning, Mr. Quirrell." In front of his father, Draco was happy to be polite and greeted the man in the turban.
"Good morning, Malfoy." Quirrell's voice drifted, "I wonder if I'm lucky enough to know what you guys were talking about?" β
"What we're talking about has nothing to do with you!" Lucius suppressed the fear and trembling emotions in his heart, and replied indifferently.
Quirrell gave him a deep look and turned to walk towards the gates of Hogwarts Castle.
What Lucius didn't notice was that in the pocket of Quirrell's arms, there was a blank journal that was exuding a strong dark aura, dipped into Quirrell's body, controlling his consciousness.
"Strange, why doesn't Mr. Quirrell stutter?" Draco glanced back at Quirrell in surprise.
"Gone, Draco." Lucius urged with some trembling.
"It's coming!"
Draco put his doubts to rest and quickly followed Lucius's pace.

By the time Malfoys arrived at the Hogwarts Board Boardroom, the twelve members of the Board had already arrived.
They sat in a circle around a long round table, staring at each other in silence.
"Lucius, so you called us here today just to fire a professor?" One of the school trustees was the first to break the silence.
"Yes." Lucius placed his staff on the round table and stared at the school board member who was the first to speak, "I think there's something wrong with the current Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Dracula's teaching methods. His classes often put students at risk and put their safety at risk. If one day there was a teaching accident, it would be difficult for Hogwarts to afford such serious responsibility. β
"In addition, I surveyed several students who were in the know, and they unanimously stated that Professor Dracula often used corporal punishment on students."
He took out a questionnaire for the students from his pocket and showed it to everyone present.
In fact, the people who filled out the questionnaire were Slytherin students such as Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and Draco's friend Parkinson.
The members of the school board quickly read the questionnaire and frowned slightly.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, what do you think of Professor Dracula's actions?" One of the school directors looked at Dumbledore, who was dozing off in his main seat, and asked.
Dumbledore glanced at him, then said with a smile, "I think Professor Dracula is the most teaching and personal Defence Against the Dark Arts professor in recent decades. β
Hearing Dumbledore's evaluation, the eleven school trustees except Lucius were all a little surprised.
After all, although Dumbledore is old, his reputation and personal charm are still in the magical world, and the sun never sets in the wizarding world, and he has not declined in the decades since defeating Grindelwald.
This big guy gave such a high evaluation, and it is impossible for the school directors not to take it seriously.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, but you can't deny Professor Dracula's use of corporal punishment on students, can you?" Seeing that the situation was not good, Lucius hurriedly added, "There is a provision in the education law established by the Ministry of Magic that no group of teachers may inflict severe corporal punishment on underage wizards. β
"And my child Draco has been severely traumatized after being physically punished by Professor Dracula, and that alone is enough for the school board to expel him!"
He stared into Dumbledore's eyes and said with a sneer.
