Chapter 49: The Power of Bond
"I almost forgot, Professor Dracula, you're not just a vampire, you're a real count."
Dumbledore was stunned for a moment, then shook his head with a smile, "What do those nobles say that they want you to give preferential treatment to women and children?" β
"I remember in my time, it was grace, dignity and responsibility." Dracula clasped his hands to his chest and said casually, "Even if I don't care about these so-called aristocratic spirits, it doesn't mean that I'm happy to push this kind of thing on a young child who has just entered school." β
Dumbledore watched as Harry's attention was drawn to the Mirror of Eris, and a thoughtful expression appeared on his face.
"Professor Dracula, don't underestimate Voldemort's threat." As he watched Harry's performance, he whispered to Dracula, "No one can survive the Curse, except for two people, Voldemort and Harry. β
But Harry wasn't actually hit by Voldemort's Require Curse, and Lily's love for Harry caused her to unleash an amazing Guardian Spell that bounced off Voldemort's Require Curse. So the person who really fell for the curse was Voldemort who cast it. β
Dumbledore tells Dracula about the horrors of Voldemort, but Dracula's attention is drawn to something else.
"Do you mean that Harry's mother had the ability to resist Voldemort by virtue of the emotion of 'love' alone?" His eyebrows furrowed, "Mr. Headmaster, don't you think this kind of thing is ridiculous yourself?" β
"Don't underestimate anyone's potential, Professor Dracula." Dumbledore said seriously, "The potential of man is endless. Especially in times of emergency, for the sake of the people they love, human beings can often burst out with unprecedented power. β
"Professor Dracula, this is the power of bonding."
Dracula looked at Dumbledore's serious expression, and a very ridiculous feeling appeared in his heart.
Is Dumbledore old and confused, or is he sleeping for a hundred years and can't keep up with the times? When did a wizard's potential reach reach the point where he could use his emotions to influence his own strength?
If you say so, wouldn't those loving couples, affectionate mothers and sons, all have the ability to pose a threat to the combat power of the Great Wizard level?
This can be said to be an extremely unreasonable thing. Because Dracula knows that the gap in strength between wizards and wizards is sometimes really like a moat, insurmountable.
As such, Dracula did not agree with Dumbledore's explanation that Harry had survived the Curse, preferring to find the answer himself.
"Skip this question, I'm not interested in studying the emotional lives of your wizards." Dracula said disapprovingly, "Tell me why you think Voldemort is still alive after being spelled by himself." β
Dumbledore shook his head helplessly.
"Actually, I initially thought that Voldemort was really dead, and I was relieved for a long time. Until I found out that the curse on the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts professor was still there...... You should understand that one of the conditions for the existence of a curse is the survival of the caster. β
"And this year's arrival of Quirrell and the coveting of the Philosopher's Stone are just a testament to this." Dumbledore's face was solemn, "Voldemort never really left, he was just waiting for the time to return!" β
"So you created a game out of the Philosopher's Stone, and by the way, you created an opportunity to use Voldemort to raise Potter?" Dracula asked.
"That's right, as I guessed, Voldemort is still weak and can only rely on others to move." Dumbledore said, "With Voldemort's conceited personality, if he wasn't weak enough to be there, he wouldn't have pinned his hopes on Quirrell, but would have personally broken into Gringotts and snatched the Philosopher's Stone." β
"I think you should know that the Philosopher's Stone is Nicol's life." Hearing Dumbledore's story, Dracula's expression was slightly cold, "If Voldemort is really in his prime, he will definitely not return empty-handed, then there is no possibility of continuation of Nicol's elixir." β
"Your layout puts Nicol in a very dangerous position. He doesn't care about his life, and neither do you? Dracula asked.
"Don't worry, Professor Dracula. There is no need to take risks in such a thing. Dumbledore didn't think it was at all wrong, and said with a smile, "That Philosopher's Stone in Gringotts has always been fake, and the real one has always been with me!" β
Dracula looked at him in surprise and bowed slightly.
"Nicol told me about what you discussed at the OpΓ©ra Garnier." A gentle smile crossed Dumbledore's face, "He doesn't want to die anymore, and when this is over, the Philosopher's Stone will be handed over to you to take away." β
"Professor Dracula, you don't actually abandon the human touch, do you? The relationship between friends is also a kind of bonding power. β
"As I said, I'm not interested in your fetters theory." Dracula looked away and naturally changed the subject, "You haven't said yet, in your guess, how Voldemort survived the Requisition?" β
Dumbledore turned his head to look at Dracula, his eyes deep.
"I wonder if Professor Dracula has ever heard of an extremely evil forbidden black magic, the Horcrux!"
β¦β¦
Hogwarts has an active Horcrux.
A young version of Voldemort, Tom Riddle, an avatar of the Horcrux Diary, forages for food in the Forbidden Forest.
He stretched out an illusory hand, grabbed it casually, and ingested a passing hare in his hand. The rabbit kicked wildly on its hind legs.
A burst of black gas emerged, and the hare soon lost its movement, losing its strength to struggle, and even becoming shriveled all over.
Voldemort's illusory body seemed to solidify a little.
At this moment, he suddenly frowned and opened the blank diary in his hand.
"It's useless to only absorb the life energy of animals, what you need is the life force of a wizard."
Two lines of delicate ink appear on the diary.
"Of course I know, there's no need to rely on you to remind me." Voldemort said impatiently, "Now that Dumbledore and that Dracula are still suspicious of Quirrell and even wary of me, where can I have the opportunity to absorb the life of a wizard?" β
The ink on the diary reassembled: "Give me to any student, and I can trick them into giving their life force." β
"There's no need. Thought I didn't know? You just want me to leave the journal. Voldemort scoffed and said, "Remember, you're just a Horcrux, and all you have is just a part of my memories before I was sixteen!" There is only one thing you need to do, and that is to obey me, obey your Lord soul! β
With a snap, Voldemort closed his diary and headed for the depths of the Forbidden Forest.
There was a pure, beautiful creature resembling a white horse, hanging its head with a beautiful horn and drinking from the stream that flowed in the woods.
"Avada Suoβ"
