Chapter 478: Breaking Sound

The wind direction has changed again. The strong smell of fuel and steam came from their left towards Hadrisha.

"Beware!" She jerked Shanon away.

A lumberjack slammed out from among the trees and bushes, its metal claws tearing through the branches and leaves that stood in its way. A shrill maniacal laugh drowned out the sound of the sawblade spinning. The goblin wrestled the joystick, a demonic grin on his face.

The saw blade swung towards Hadrisha. She was forced to dodge to the left, but she stumbled on her feet because of her blindness, and the saw blade narrowly stuck in her shoulder. Hadrisha was wearing plate armor, and the lumberjack still sliced through the metal, cutting a small but painful wound in her flesh.

The wound was shallow, but it surprised the Commander, making her an ideal target. The upper body of the lumberjack turned towards her. The goblin manipulated the whirring sawblade and let out a wild laugh again.

Luckily, no one heard the sentinels fighting, partly because the goblins were going too far ahead of the others, and partly because they were deforesting too loudly. But Hadrisha doesn't expect it to always be. At the very least, she and Shannon must escape.

A whirling moonblade swept past her, flying close to the goblin, only to be blocked by an iron arm. Shannon's weapon flew out of the way, sinking deep into a nearby tree trunk.

But the blow at least gave Hadrisha a respite. She jumped out of the circle and reached out to pull out her moon blade.

As soon as the goblin pulled the handle, the lumberjack rushed towards her. It still used one arm as a shield, while the saw blade on the other swirled and stretched straight ahead.

Hadrisha figured out the position of the lumberjack, adjusted it slightly to her impaired eyesight, and threw the moonblade. At first glance, she seemed far away, but the moonblade flew past the sneering goblin and turned back. The commander's face remained impassive, for fear of alerting the enemy.

However, she underestimated the power of the goblin and his machine. The mule pulled the lever, and the defensive arm twisted over his head in a way that a living creature would never have could.

There was a loud thud, and her moon blade struck the arm and bounced out of the distance. Hadrisha cursed.

"Come on, Purple Skin!" The goblin mocked. "Come and give me a hug!"

The Lumbersaw's arms swung at her from different directions, trying to sandwich her in the middle and then slash her out. Hadrisha fell to the ground, barely escaping her fate.

She had expected the goblins to immediately adjust their stance and attack again, but the arms began to dance wildly. The Commander propped himself up and saw Shanon climbing to the side of the Lumberjack, he didn't hold the Moonblade, but the dagger in his left hand was better against the Timbersaw's pilot, if only the Night Elves could get closer.

But the goblins would not allow this to happen. The lumberjack spun around with his arms waved, bent on knocking Shanon down. Although he didn't get his way, it also made it impossible for the Sentinel to use the blade in his hand.

Hadrisha knew that if she signaled to the others, she might also alarm all the goblins and other tribesmen to be aware of the presence of the Alliance. So she tried to find a way to quickly deal with this lonely enemy. She looked around. His own moonblade fell too far, but Shannon's weapon was still stuck in a nearby tree. She rushed to get the weapon, hoping that her companion would hold the goblin a little longer—and not lose his life.

However, even though she came to the moon blade lightly, pulling it out was an even more difficult task. The moonblade was buried deep in the trunk of the tree, and despite Hadrisha's best efforts, the wound became more painful as she gritted her teeth all the time.

There was a buzzing in my ears. She glanced in the direction of the other lumberjacks, but they weren't visible...... And so it won't be the source of this louder buzz.

Hadrisha crouched down.

The blade of the sawmill slashed into the trunk of the tree. Wood chips and sawdust are sprinkled on the Night Elves.

A high-pitched, shrill sound tore at her eardrums. Hadrisha rolled to the side and saw the sawblade of the lumberjack slash on top of the moonblade. The impact caused both the logger and the trees to vibrate violently.

The goblin cursed and flipped a few levers. Another iron arm reached over to support the trunk. With astonishing force, the logger uses the lever principle to break free.

Hadrisha failed to see any trace of Shannon, and she could only assume the worst. Shanon's moonblade had been destroyed, so she looked around for her weapon.

The half-sawn tree creaked ominously. Hadrisha took a few steps back, only to realize that the danger was not as urgent as she had imagined. The tree shook slightly, then calmed down.

The goblin adjusted the joysticks before charging at her again. At this time, Hadrisha finally caught a glimpse of Shanon, who was lying down under another tree. Although she didn't see any signs of injury, her motionless body gave her little hope.

However, seeing Shanon suddenly gave her a desperate plan. The Commander wanted her to judge the tree's damage correctly, or she would have put herself to death.

"Shannon!" She yelled. "Attack his left side!"

The goblins responded to the call. He pulled the joystick, causing the lumberjack to turn toward what he thought was a threat.

If Hadrisha had charged towards the goblins, he would have noticed her movements in time to stop her attack. However, the Night Elves ran behind the tree.

The goblin saw that the male Night Elf was still lying motionless, either unconscious or dead. As soon as he pulled the handle, the lumberjack began to turn back towards her.

Hadrisha slammed into the back of the tree. The blow shook her bones, but Hadrisha heard a reassuring cracking sound from the trees. (To be continued.) )
