Chapter 134: Entering the Ministry of Magic (Part II)
The fence opened, and they stepped out into the hallway, where nothing was moving, except for the nearest torches flickering and flickering in the air whistling from the elevator.
"Everybody's on their guard. Lockhart took out his wand, the Mystic Division was very small, there was no place to hide, and now even the two people on the night vigil had withdrawn, but the Order of the Phoenix and the Aurors were upstairs, which made him relax a little.
Harry looked at the plain black door, "This is the place I dreamed of!"
"That's right, so we're here. Lupin pulled out his wand as well.
"Let's go. Lockhart whispered, leading the group down the hallway, Hermione following him, her mouth slightly open, looking around.
Walking up to the black door, it opened automatically, and now they entered a large circular room. Lockhart was also a first-time visitor to this place, where everything, including the ceiling and floor, was black, some identical, unmarked, and unhandled, black doors were embedded in the black walls around them at some distance from each other, and some candles with blue flames dotted the walls, and the cold, flickering faint candlelight reflected on the bright marble floor, making the floor look like a pool of black water.
"Don't close the door. Lockhart turned around and spoke, still uneasy, and raised his hand to attach a fluorescent charm to the door.
As Lockhart stared at the doors in front of him, asking Harry which one he thought he should enter, the candle began to move to one side with a loud rumbling bang. The round walls swirled up.
Hermione grabbed Lockhart's arm, as if she was worried that the floor would move, but the floor didn't move. After a few seconds, the blue flames around them blurred into similar auras as the walls swirled rapidly. Then, as abruptly as at the beginning, the rumbling disappeared, and a qiē returned to calm.
"What is this for?" Ron whispered worriedly, but Lockhart didn't know the rules either.
"I guess it's confusing which door we're coming in. Ginny replied in a low voice.
Lockhart immediately realized that she was right: it was harder to make out where the exit was now than it was to find a black ant on the pitch-black floor, and any of the twelve surrounding doors could be the one they needed to pass through. Not a member of the Ministry of Magic, he couldn't tell the difference, and he now regretted that he hadn't let Arthur follow him.
"How are we going to get out?" Hermione asked uneasily.
"It's not important now," Lupin said blandly, raising his hand to release the Patronus away, "we find the Prophecy Ball, and then have Arthur come in and take us out." ”
"Don't shout his name!" Hermione hurriedly said, "How many times has the professor said that!"
"Where are we going, Harry?" Lockhart asked, not knowing where the prophecy ball was, "You should have dreamed of it, right?" ”
"I'll ......try," said Harry, unconfidently, "in those dreams, I went down the elevator and into a door at the end of the hallway, and came to a dark room, and this was it, and then I went through another door and into a somewhat glittering room. We should try a few doors," he said hurriedly, "and when I see that room, I know how to go." Come on. ”
Harry walked straight to the door facing him, and Lockhart and the others had to follow. Harry placed his left hand on the cold, shiny door and raised his wand, ready to rush over the moment the door opened, and he pushed.
The door opened with ease.
The chandelier hung low from the golden chain and the white ceiling, the square room was so bright after the darkness of the first room that Harry knew it wasn't here. The room was almost empty, except for a table, and in the middle of the room was a large glass tank of dark green liquid, large enough for them to swim in, and a lot of white stuff was floating slowly around in it.
"What is this?" Ron whispered.
"I don't know. Harry said.
"Is it fish?" Ginny asked softly.
"It's the brain!" Lockhart said with a disgusted face, "I've heard of it." ”
"Brain?"
"Why do they raise this kind of thing?" Hermione walked over and asked curiously.
The brains flickered and shimmered in the depths of the green liquid, like slimy cauliflower.
"No, don't look at it. Lockhart urged, "Let's try another door." ”
"There are also a lot of doors here. Ron said as he pointed to the walls around him, how big this place was.
"It's too messy, let's go out and let Arthur lead the way. "Lockhart is a little bit afraid of trouble.
They hurried back to the dark round room, the images of those terrible brains swimming before his eyes instead of blue candlelight.
"Wait a minute!" Just as Lockhart was about to close the door to the room behind him, Hermione screamed, "The mark is revealed!"
She drew her wand in midair, and a fiery red "X" appeared on the door. As the door clicked behind them, there was a deafening rumble, and the wall began to spin rapidly. But in the faint blue light, there was a huge, faint golden red, and when the qiē stood still again, the fiery red X was still burning, indicating that they had already entered the door.
"Good idea, Hermione. Lockhart complimented, "Maybe we should everyone open a door and take a look, and if it weren't for the glittering room with a lot of prophecy balls or Harry's words, we should go back and make a mark, and it should be found in a few moments." ”
Several people separated, and everyone opened a door to check, "Is this door locked?" Harry picked the door and couldn't open, he slammed it, but it still didn't move.
"If you can't open the door, you can't enter!" Lockhart hurriedly stopped him, every Qiē of the Department of Mysteries was top secret, but the Auror Department knew some of the secrets because of its special nature. There is a door in the Department of Mysteries that cannot be opened, there is an "ultimate power" inside, no one can enter, Lockhart is curious about what is inside, but he is no longer a young man, and his curiosity is not heavy. "Did anyone see the ball? ”
"It's so bright in this room, come here!" said Ginny, beckoning cheerfully to the others.
"It should be the one, everybody!" Lockhart shouted, his voice echoing through the empty hall, a little scary.
"This is it!"
