Chapter 22: Halloween trolls are coming
Calvin was helpless, and the clue to find the Room of Requirement was broken again. It seems that only one person can scrutinize every nook and cranny of the castle.
Time went by, and Calvin spent his days between attending classes and finding a room to answer. During this time, Calvin's evaluation among students gradually decreased because of his crazy test behavior.
Soon, Halloween is coming.
Harry and Ron go downstairs to the dining room for a Halloween party, where they overhear Patil telling her friend Lavender that Hermione was crying sadly in the women's restroom and not letting anyone comfort her.
Although the relationship between the three of them has not improved, since getting the two-way mirror, Harry and Ron have been very concerned about Hermione's situation.
When they arrived at the restaurant, they were quickly attracted by the colorful Halloween costumes. Ron had a chicken leg in one hand and a potato in the other, but he didn't seem to have much of an appetite.
"Harry, shall we go find Hermione." Ron put down what he was holding on and said to Harry worriedly.
"What?" Harry was staring at the teacher's chair when he noticed that Calvin had sat down and had hurried away without a few bites.
"I said if we should go to Hermione, and the apology to her has been delayed for a long time." Ron raised his voice slightly and said to Harry, "What are you looking at?" ”
"Oh, I think you're right, Ron," Harry looked back at Ron, "but you heard Pettier too, Hermione is in the women's restroom now, let's go find it, let's bring her something to eat after the party." ”
Ron nodded, "You have a point. Then he comfortably nibbled on the chicken legs.
Harry lowered his voice and said to Ron, "Don't you think Professor Capet is a little weird. ”
"No, I think Professor Capet is a good man." Ron ate a roasted chicken leg in one hand, "Now George and Fred are busy with alchemy all day, and they don't have time to play tricks on me." ”
"I often see Professor Capet walking around the castle, as if looking for something." Harry frowned, still a little skeptical.
"Hey, Harry, if you doubt Professor Capet, take out the mirror he gave you and take a look." Ron said.
"I just thought Professor Capet was weird, and I didn't say he was a bad guy." Harry was annoyed.
Just then, Professor Quirrell burst into the dining room, his large scarf slanted over his head, and a look of horror on his face. Everyone stared at him, only to see him walk up to Professor Dumbledore's chair, lean back on the table, gasp and say, "Trolls—in the basement classroom—you should know." ”
There was chaos in the restaurant.
"Prefect," Dumbledore said with a serious expression and a quick order, "bring the students of your house to the dormitories immediately!"
Percy is a master at organizing first-year students. "Follow me! Don't get scattered, first graders! As long as you do what I tell you, you don't have to be afraid of any trolls! Okay, follow me closely. Get out of the way, the first graders are going to pass! I beg your pardon, I'm a prefect!"
Harry and Ron were about to follow the crowd back when Harry grabbed Ron's arm.
"Hermione! She was still in the bathroom. ”
Ron also suddenly remembered this: "We have to go find her." ”
Harry and Ron crept to the end of the line and walked in the other direction while Percy wasn't looking. They slipped quietly through the empty side hallway and hurried to the women's restroom. As soon as he turned the corner, he heard hurried footsteps behind him.
"Percy!" Ron whispered, pulling Harry behind a large sphinx stone statue.
They looked behind the stone sculptures, only to see that it was not Percy, but Professor Snape. He walked through the hallway and disappeared from their sight.
"What is he doing?" Harry asked in a low voice, "Why didn't he stay in the basement classroom below, with the other teachers?"
"How do I know!"
They followed Snape's footsteps as they faded away, creeping down another hallway, trying not to make a sound.
"He went to the fourth floor." Harry said, but Ron raised his hand.
"Can you smell anything?"
Harry sniffed, and then he swore he had the foulest smell of his life, like an uncleaned bathroom mixed with the stench of decay.
"Gross." Harry turned around to vomit, and then he saw a behemoth - twelve feet tall, with dull skin, a massive, stupid body like a giant booger with a little head like a cocoa bean on top.
"It's a troll." Ron whispered. The two turned and ran, and then they heard the screams of a terrible girl behind them.
It's Hermione.
Without hesitation, Harry and Ron chose to go back and help.
Hermione cowered by the opposite wall, seemingly ready to faint at any moment. The troll was closing in on her, smashing the pool off the wall as it walked.
Harry grabbed a tap and threw it at the troll. The troll stopped a few paces away from Hermione. Its little ugly eyes saw Harry. It hesitated, then walked over to Harry, raising the stick in its hand.
Ron threw a hose at the troll from the other side of the room. The troll stopped again and turned its big ugly nose towards Ron, and Harry took the opportunity to approach Hermione.
Harry shouted at Hermione, "Get out! But Hermione couldn't move, still clinging to the wall.
The troll roared again and began to close in on Ron. There was no turning back for Ron. The three of them were surrounded by a troll.
Harry tried to pull Hermione up, and just then, Harry swore he had seen four Capetian professors.
The three Capetian professors picked up Harry, Hermione and Ron respectively and quickly walked away from the troll, and the remaining one Capetian flew out behind him a large bird with lightning flashes, and with a wave of its wings, it released a bolt of lightning that hit the troll's head.
The troll fell to the ground, and Calvin swung his wand and released a thigh-thick twine rope that bound the troll tightly.
With all that done, Professor Capet traveled through the corridor almost instantaneously to the three young wizards. The rest of Professor Capet walked up behind Calvin and became one with him.
Calvin unleashed several whirlwind cleaners on the three little wizards and himself, and then asked with a gloomy face, "Can anyone explain to me what the hell is going on?" ”
At this time, Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Snape also hurried to arrive, and Professor Quirrell followed.
Snape stooped down to look at the troll. Professor McGonagall looked at Calvin with a gloomy face, and then at the three Harry standing on the side, her lips turned white with anger.
"What do you want to do?" Professor McGonagall said, with a cold anger in her voice. "Lucky for you, without Professor Capet, you'd have been killed by it. Why don't you stay in your dorm honestly?
"Professor Capet, Professor McGonagall - they're looking for me." Hermione walked out of the back tremblingly
"Miss Granger!" Professor McGonagall snorted, not believing that this model student would do anything that violated the school rules.
"I came to the troll because — I thought I could deal with it alone — you know, because I've read about them in books and know them well."
