Chapter 37: Harry who accepts reality
"Looking for Professor McGonagall? Or Headmaster Dumbledore?" Harry panicked, "Can I not go? I don't want to see them......
Harry didn't want to be considered a Dark Wizard by Professor McGonagall or Headmaster Dumbledore.
"Harry, you have to face this fact." Hermione said solemnly.
Harry was taken by Hermione to see Professor McGonagall, the venerable Deputy Headmaster who didn't say anything about Harry's serpentine cliché, but she promised to stop the rumors from spreading.
But Professor McGonagall was a little powerless about the spread of the matter outside the school. Harry and the others could only go to Professor Capet at noon.
When Harry pushed the door open, he found that Professor Capet's office was very different from when he had arrived. Nearly every wall was plastered with parchment manuscripts, to which Professor Capet's cousin was constantly muttering.
"Ah, Harry, you're here," Calvin looked up from a pile of old books and looked at the three men at the door, "Actually, I'm going to talk to you in the evening."
"Good afternoon, Professor Capet. I ......" Harry looked a little reserved.
"Sit down," Calvin walked from his desk to the couch and cleaned up the parchment piled on it a little, "Ron, don't touch that egg, it's dangerous."
Ron looked at the golden-red egg on the cabinet that was placed in a crystal container, and couldn't help but get closer.
While the three of Harry were sitting on the couch and organizing the language, Calvin said directly:
"Harry, I guess you'd like to talk to me about the snake."
Harry's tense nerves relaxed and he nodded silently.
"Professor, I'm not going to be a dark wizard." Harry said quietly but firmly.
Amor brought a cup of coffee and three cups of apple juice, and Calvin took a sip of his coffee, "Of course I know that, Harry. You're Lily's son."
"But I have to warn you in advance, I don't know much about snakes, and I'm still looking up the information just now. If you want to know more about the Serpent's Cavity, I suggest you go to Professor Snape."
Harry shuddered, he couldn't imagine what he would see when he went to Snape because of the snake's old tongue.
"No, Professor Capet, we're coming to you because the news that Harry is a snake may have spread outside the school," Hermione quickly explained, "We wanted to ask you if there was anything we could do to keep this out of the newspapers."
"At least, you can't let Rita know about that woman." Hermione muttered.
"It's easy," Calvin nodded, "don't worry, this won't be a big deal."
Harry breathed a sigh of relief, at least the annoying flies wouldn't be chasing him.
Hermione then asked, "Professor Cape, what were you going to do with us?"
Calvin smiled, "Hermione, I remember you asked me one thing, there was a little boy in his elder's room who heard an inaudible voice, it must have been Harry."
Seeing that the truth had been exposed, Harry and Hermione could only nod.
"Tell me, then, what did you hear?" ….
Harry took a sip of the apple juice and thought about it for a moment before saying, "I've heard it several times, the first time in Lockhart's office, just a few days after school started."
"I was in Lockhart's office to help him copy letters, and then I heard a sound from around the corner of Hanhu, as if to say, well, kill you...... Death...... Tore...... Residue ......"
"Later, I heard this voice in many places in the school, and the content of the speech was similar."
Calvin's fingers tapped lightly on the armrest of the couch, "That snake you are talking to doesn't sound very friendly."
He then pulled out a folded piece of parchment and unfolded it to reveal a very detailed map of Hogwarts, "Mark where and when you heard the sounds, and I'll study what exactly is crawling in the shadows of the school."
Harry quickly circled several locations on the map
。 Calvin looked at it for a moment and said, "It's all right, Harry. Don't tell your godfather about the old snake, I'll tell him."
"Professor, why am I a snake?" Harry hesitated, but asked the question, "Is my mom or dad a snake?" Or is my ancestor really a Slytherin?"
"And why is the old snake considered a sign of a dark wizard!" His emotions were a little out of control.
Harry was a little aggrieved, although he had been disgusted and ridiculed, most of the students in the school were extremely kind to him, and there had never been such a situation as today.
He was scared to spend his student life, if not his whole life, in this misunderstanding. He was even more scared, because of the snake's old words, there was no way to contact the girl named Qiu Zhang.
Calvin got up and patted Harry on the shoulder, and a chill spread from his shoulder to his body, calming Harry down.
"Harry, as far as I know, neither of your parents has the talent for a serpent. As for your ancestors, I don't know." Calvin said.
"If you want to ask why people are afraid of snakes, you can write an academic paper. All I can tell you is that humans are naturally afraid of snakes, whether they are Muggles or wizards."
Calvin finally comforted, "Don't worry, Harry. There's always something new in the school, and the old snake thing will soon pass."
Coming out of Calvin's office, Harry gradually came to terms with reality. The next day, he didn't see his news in Hermione's newspaper, which made him feel a little better.
On the other hand, Calvin found Dumbledore after exploring several locations marked by Harry.
"I think you should know that, Dumbledore." Calvin got straight to the point and said, "Do you have any opinions?"
Dumbledore didn't seem to be in a hurry, he pointed to a crystal in front of him, and said with a smile, "Of course there is a lot of trouble about this, and there are also images of students selling snakes in the school."
"I don't think a rare magical talent can label a person as good or evil, we need to see what a wizard does. Although most of the snake elders are indeed dark wizards."
"Looks like we're on the same page, Albus. Snape told me one thing yesterday, Voldemort is also a serpent. I don't think it's that simple for Harry to be a snake." Calvin said, unfolding a map on Dumbledore's desk.
"What is this?" Dumbledore asked.
"Harry had heard snakes in these places, and according to him, the sound was terrifying." Calvin pointed to the places circled in red on the map, "I'd like to borrow your headmaster's authority to investigate these places."
